I have to amend this review. When we got home I contacted Firestone about my experience. I received an email back right away, and the next day the regional manager called me. He was incredibly nice and professional, and very apologetic. He reviewed the issue and asked me to send him copies of my repair bills and my own mechanic's estimate for the job done. He offered to reimburse me for the additional charges entailed, and is also reimbursing me for the difference in my mechanic's prices and what we were charged. Honestly, I was floored. I was hoping to maybe recover some of the cost that I spent to fix the bad work, but was sure I was out the initial repair. In a society where politeness and decency are rare, and big corporations don't care about their customers, this was a breath of fresh air. I don't know that I'll take my car to a Firestone dealer for repairs again, but they have my tire business for life. Thank you, Mr Walker. I'm stunned and grateful. Horrible. Just horrible. Our car radiator blew out on vacation, and we were forced to stop here for service. They ordered the wrong radiator first, but didn't bother to tell us that they had screwed up and had to get a different one in, which took several extra hours. When they finally got the car "fixed" ($1,300 and ten hours later) they didn't clamp a hose back onto the engine. They broke off the transmission dipstick while working on the engine, and didn't bother to mention that, either. Our car wouldn't start the next time we stopped and had to be towed in to another Firestone dealer, who also wasn't able to figure out what was wrong (although it turned out to be obvious). We had to spend half a day trying to deal with the car, and then limped into our destination where we found a REAL mechanic who diagnosed it over the phone, fixed the hose and the clamp and replaced the broken dipstick for less than $100, including labor. I guess if you just need tires you could stop here, but don't let these people work on your car, whatever you do. read more

Car went in for a broken lug nut to get taken off. Completely trashed my wheel, took it by another shop that works on wheels and told me it looks like they used a blow torch when it wasn't needed, the lug nut wasn't seized on from corrosion, it was just over torqued. They didn't seem any bit concerned that they trashed an $860 wheel and charged $292 to do it. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

0 stars was not an option Incident #1 (roughly 2 years ago): I brought my car in for a brake fluid flush. When I picked it up after work, I had no brake pressure -- thankfully I caught it in the parking lot before pulling out onto I-95. When I brought it back, the staff treated it as a non-event, no urgency, no real accountability. I insisted the senior tech personally work alongside the junior tech going forward, since brake work should be a two-person job anyway. I told myself I'd never come back. Incident #2 (2026): I gave them another chance after buying a new car in Maryland. The MCB Quantico front gate flagged me for not having a Virginia safety inspection sticker yet -- completely normal for a recently purchased out-of-state vehicle within the grace period. I asked the manager for a simple note confirming I'd be back the next morning before 0930 to get the inspection done, just so I could get onto base for work. Reminded me of Seinfeld soup chef...He refused, cited "policy," and was flat out belligerent about it -- no attempt to find a reasonable solution. I ended up calling Toyota instead, who fit me in with zero hassle with 2 hours same day. Between a brake job that nearly failed on the highway and a manager unwilling to offer basic customer service for a simple request, I'm done. I'd rather walk 16 miles to work than bring my car back to this location. Incompetent technicians, poor management -- avoid. Oh no! What can improve?!?! As if you need someone to tell you...we here it is: Basic accountability when something goes wrong -- checking their own work before handing back a car with a safety issue like brake pressure * Training junior techs alongside seniors on critical safety jobs, not solo * A manager willing to offer small, reasonable accommodations (like a note for gate access) instead of hiding behind "policy" when a customer isn't asking for anything unusual * Some acknowledgment or apology when a legitimate safety complaint is raised, rather than treating it as routine Until I see a real shift in how this location handles customer safety and basic service recovery, I can't recommend them. read more

For tires, they're fine. For actual maintenance, take your car somewhere reliable. I brought in my car requesting just to have the check engine code read (I told them I'd ordered a code scanner online but it wouldn't arrive before a long drive I had to make). When I picked it up they told me they'd conducted a full diagnostic check for $130 (they don't show you the screen when you're signing, but I'd assumed it was negligible since I was just asking for a code scan - learned my lesson). That would've been fine, just a miscommunication, but they quoted me $847 to fix the check engine issue (code P2433), including replacing both the sensor and the pump. That struck me as odd, so I asked around and found a reliable mechanic out in town. They conducted a diagnostic test and found that only the sensor was bad: costing only $181 to repair! Even if Firestone had correctly diagnosed that it was just the sensor that needed replacement, their estimate for just that was still $290, $110 more than what was provided out in town. read more

Came here for an oil change in November 2021 because it was convenient for me to drop off my vehicle while I wait at work. While driving, I noticed my engine light turn on; a simple car scan indicated an issue with the Mass Air Flow sensor. I popped the hood and the air intake tube wasn't to connected to the engine; the hose clamp wasn't properly secured and my car was taking in unfiltered air. It wasn't much of a concern as I fixed the issue when I discovered it, but it shows the lack of attention to detail from the person who serviced my vehicle. Additionally, I took my vehicle into the BMW dealership for an oil change recently, and the technician found JB Welds around the oil drain plug. What compelled the Firestone technician to think this was okay and not inform me? I don't know. I am not going back to Firestone to service my vehicle again. read more

I gave two stars because I picked my car up and it smells like cigarette or cigar smoke inside and I don't smoke. It's gross and my seats smell. read more

Car is broken and I dropped it off to them to get it fixed but they overcharged me just to have the fan still break a second time...Supposed to be helping us out but I keep getting less than favorable service read more

Straight up, These guys stole more than a gallon of gas from me. I monitor my fuel consumption very closely. I have been for years and I am aware of the difference winterized gasoline and gasoline in the summer months. The difference is NOT a gallons'+ worth of mileage gone. I had filled up the night before my visit to firestone so fuel gauge was above the Full line. When I received my car back from them, the indicator was ON the full line. I had only traveled 25 miles to work after the fill up the night prior. I had my suspicions, but I would not be able to tell until I consumed more fuel. Today I'm on the halfway mark and I am 20-25 miles less than where I should be. The courtesy inspection after my alignment was "done". My tire pressures were recorded at 29psi. I went and got air later on in the week. Hmm, to my surprise I was at 34 PSI all around... right were I filled it up to a week prior. Long story short these people are dishonest and give other car mechanics the stereotype of being shady. I've had coworkers on base also deal with these guys and they have had to return multiple times for sketchy repairs or making scheduling promises they cant keep. I would not recommend this location. read more

Went here for a saftey inspection and they did a horrible job scraping off the old sticker and totally messed up my tint! I take really good care of my car and spent money on that tint but they did their job carelessly. They don't care how ugly it looked. read more

I did not receive the quality of work I expected for $1,300. They failed to fix one of the specific problems I brought my vehicle for. Bro my vehicle for an oil and coolant leak, which took 3 days and still failed to fix the oil leak. Once I had the vehicle I noticed the leak but assumed it was the A/C since the oil leak had just been fixed. Went back to the shop and their answer was that they had not cleaned out the area covered by engine oil during the initial inspection and had missed an additional leak, which they were unable to fix there. Waste of time and money! If your looking for convenience go right ahead but you won't find quality work here. read more

Brought my car in 2017 to replace brakes and rear shocks - over $1000 in work. I doubt they were even worked on because now I'm having issues with both. Want to get scammed? Take your car here. If you're a woman, especially, be aware. They will rip you off. Nice way to treat a military family. read more

They've always provided excellent service. Today I took my Jeep back after an oil change and there was smoke under the hood. I drove it back and made it right. It was a big inconvenience for my schedule but I know it happens but how they dealt with it was top notch. read more

DO NOT COME HERE Took my car to get inspected, they told me I had to replace all the pads and rotors (for just under $1000). I said no thanks, took a look at it myself, and found the rear rotors were in perfectly good shape. Took it back for reinspection, and they say I need to replace the rears cause they put it in the paperwork already that they need to be replaced. (But no worries, they would do this for a bit over $300!) Again, I said no thanks and went to replace them myself. Found out they cross threaded one of the lug nuts on my wheels after the last reinspection. Had to break it off and replace the stud and lug. Took it back a final time, I pass inspection. I get home, and find out two of the lug nuts on my front left tire were loose enough to take off with my fingers, and the other three were hardly secure. Seriously, stay away from this shop. read more

This shop is amazing!! I just moved here and every time I needed to take my car in for maintenance, I have received phenomenal customer service and quick turn around time. I highly recommend using this shop for any vehicle maintenance. read more

If you like to save money and purchase your own oil and filter, do not take it here for an oil change! Firestone will not do it for you. You are obligated to have them use whatever oil and filters they have. Sounds shady to me. I will never take any of my vehicles here for service. read more

We have been taking our cars to the Quantico Firestone for several years now. They have always provided outstanding customer service to our family! The are honest, ethical and hardworking at this location! Recently I had a situation where my tire went completely flat on me while grocery shopping. I called and spoke with a member of management and was told to get my tire to a nearby Firestone and the warranty on the tire would apply. I got a brand new tire with the help of Quantico Firestone management at another Firestone location for only $30! The Quantico Firestone is number one in my book! read more

I have taken a few of my vehicles here for everything from tires to maintenance to oil changes and they have always been great with communication and truly finding out the problem. Each time they find a way to make sure that I am only paying for what is needed. They make recommendations for future service. It also helps that they are within walking distance of my office so my vehicle gets worked on while I am at work. read more

I had to get new tires and opted for a vehicle state safety inspection. When I picked up my truck they left the wheel ring covers off and had I not mentioned it would have driven off and never seen them again. They did however save me the cost of the inspection by letting me know I need new back brakes first but we're quoting over $500 for parts and labor. Not sure if that's typical but to me it seems outrageously priced (especially for on base). I'll figure out how to do them myself for a fraction of the cost being that I was annoyed with having to mention my wheel ring covers. read more

Brought car in to fix a slow tire leak. They told me the leak was coming out of tire sidewall, could not be fixed, and needed to be replaced due to "dry rot." The tires looked normal to me so I asked them to show me the leak - they were unable to do so. I took the car to another place.that found a nail in the tread, plugged the leak, and said the tires were in good shape. Won't go to Firestone again... read more

I took my car in on Monday morning for brake service and an oil change, leaving instructions for them to call back with an estimate. Dan called me within a couple of hours and explained in detail the work needed. I ended up needing pads on all four tires, for which I hadn't (but should have) budgeted. He gave me the URL and suggested I visit the company's coupon site, which ended up saving me $109 on the job! In the end, the price was very reasonable and the car brakes much more smoothly now. The staff I dealt with were very courteous and professional. I'll definitely be back! read more

I've come here a few times now for oil change and tire rotation and had great service every time.

I take my vehicle to the Quantico Marine base firestone location for all routine work and have always driven away pleased. The management (Carson, Barbara and mike) is friendly, professional, knowledgeable, work is reasonably priced and their goal is customer satisfaction. I drive 75 minutes to get to this location because I value their work to my vehicle and trust I won't be charged for unnecessary repairs. I schedule service in advance and wait for my vehicle. The mechanics are timely, and professional and I have never had to return for a repair "re-do". The assigned mechanic always discuss any new findings with me and whether I want to have service performed at that time or schedule a future appointment. I have been using this location for many years and highly recommend this firestone to anyone with access to Quantico Marine corps base. You will be pleased. read more

Not impressed by this location. Do they even work on foreign cars? I went in to get two things fixed. Got the car back and it's idling roughly(it never did this until they worked on my car). Then it keeps flashing a bright red warning light at me. Telling me to go to a workshop for my battery and alternator. I have had parts replaced in this car before and it worked fine afterwards. Went to this location(it was the closest one to me when my car decided to break down) and it seems like my car has backtracked. Throwing me errors that I had previously gotten fixed. I'm not stupid. I don't know how I spent almost 800$(over 500$ of that was just labor) and then get my car back acting worse than it ever has. The people here are very friendly but this was BS. I am taking it back tomorrow and pointing out that NOT ONLY did they charge so much for "4 hours of labor" but they broke other parts that, when I initially dropped the car off, were fine. I'll see how they are tomorrow and update from there. Right now, I am extremely unhappy about this whole situation and the work they did. I don't even know if they got the right parts. Sure spent enough money on them. I'm not giving them anymore money. I don't like dishonest places and this one has given me that impression. read more

ETHICS I will keep this succinct and to the point. I took my vehicle in for inspection and was told I needed new front rotors and pads to pass inspection, along with a couple light bulbs for the license plate. The day before, I removed the wheels and took a look at the pads. To be fair, I looked at the pads through the calipers (which I always do when I look to see how much pad is left) and I felt (again, this was only an eye inspection, nothing with a precision measuring tool) there was plenty of pad left. I figured I would get to them sometime in the near future. I was quoted it would be a little over $500 for the job. As you can imagine, just a tad too much dinero for a man who can do this himself for under $100. It was my mistake, no doubt, but that's not the point of this review. I asked the person on the phone, "have you already removed the old sticker" and the answer was "yes". That was ok, I figured they had (by law???) and was trying for a long shot they didn't. I explained that "damn, I could have done all that myself" and got the typical, "wellllllll...". Later that evening, I learned that there is a grace period (15 day?) where on can drive with a revoked inspection sticker and find other estimates, garages, etc to see about differing opinions and prices. The problem I have with this particular Firestone, and everyone knows that on a military instillation these places are gold mines, is that the person on the other end of the line didn't offer this information - not that he had to! And I get that. But I would think, particularly because this little place is located on a gold mine, that they would be a little more forthcoming, dare I say ethical, in sharing information such as the grace period I mentioned earlier. I surely would have taken it straight back the next morning, had them reinspect, etc and gone ahead with the charges. They should have been a little more forthcoming, that's all I am saying. I get it, I know it's a business. And, hey, maybe business ethics has nothing to do with it and I am being completely unfair here. But...I don't think so. read more
