Also, the customer service was great as both gentleman in the office were kind and informative of what to do the next time I encounter warning lights and let me know what repairs on my vehicle could wait for a bit. Fair prices. Nice staff. Not a bad wait time on vehicle. One thing to note there's not really a waiting area at this shop but the location is only a 8 min walk from a great coffee shop and the library where you can spend time until your vehicle is finished. I would highly recommend coming here to get your vehicle inspected and worked on.

He stated that the mechanic who…read moredid the work on my vehicle no longer works for him and Mike is refunding me the cost of having to put the second set of pads on as well as the entire cost of the caliper that never should have been put on the car in the first place. I find it ironic that the owner Mike states in his history blurb that he started the shop because he was tired of seeing people get ripped off, well that's exactly how I feel, ripped off by Sanderson Automotive. I thought we were doing a good thing by trying to support a local mechanics shop when my Focus, that I had been taking to Ricart for service for years needed new brake rotors and pads. I will say that Sanderson got us in quickly, but then also found that we needed a new battery and they stated that the lug nuts on the wheels were swollen and needed replaced, so that's also a lie when they state that they don't "find" things that need replaced on your car, they do. So this was a $986 bill. The very next day when I was driving to work the car was making a horrible scraping noise, as if i were dragging a sheet of metal behind the car. So I called them and they did get me in the same day to look at the car. By the time I had left work early to get this issue looked at the car had stopped making the noise, so naturally they didn't find anything. Next, a few weeks later the car started making a horrible rattling noise every time I went over the smallest bump. So once again I have to take my car back to them and they said this time that it was the brake caliper over retracting and causing it to rattle. The noise definitely came from the rear passenger side, and when they diagnosed the problem they asked if i wanted to have both calipers replaced. I said no because it was already going to be $371, and why would I replace something that wasn't broke? Sure enough within two days of having the caliper replaced the same exact noise was coming from the driver side of the car. At this point this all seems far too coincidental, the manager, Josh, that I had been dealing with the entire time, stated that there was no harm in driving with the car like this as it was not a safety issue. So by this point I'm tried of having my car into their shop, so I just let it go for a while. We finally decide it's time to have the issue taken care of so we take the car back to Ricart, at this point I don't trust Sanderson. I explained to Ricart what they had previously done to the car and after their inspection they called and said that there was nothing wrong with the brake caliper, and that whoever had installed my brake pads last time forgot to put the anti-rattle clips on the pads. Sure enough two days later and not a single rattling noise. So at this point I have had brake pads installed on the car twice in six months and a caliper replaced for no reason and I'm out $679 and hours of my time because of Sanderson's incompetence. Also, we were contacted by the owner, Mike, via text a few months ago about how our experience was and we mentioned that it was not good and we have received no response. As of writing this we also called and left a voicemail asking for them to call us and explain why they didn't installed the clips and then missed it a second time when I went back and they decided to charge us for a caliper. It has been two days with no response. In summary, Sanderson's will be happy to take your money, charge you for things you don't need and never call you back. Save yourself they hassle and don't patronize them.

For some reason, something was nagging me to just take it to another shop. Nevertheless, I contacted Boyd's and scheduled appointment. During the call, I advised of the coupon and provided my make/model of my vehicle. If this coupon would not be honored - due to the type of oil - then I should have been told during that call. Upon arriving, the man at the counter was not trying to hear me and kept mansplaining that the coupon I needed to use was the one on the bottom, which would require an up charge due to my car not using conventional. He was NOT hearing me about wanting the other coupon, stating my car didn't take conventional oil.......it didn't take it for the other coupon either which is why I needed to do upcharge. I was okay with paying additional fee for the $44.95 coup; however, they were not honoring THEIR coupon and I would have to start at $79 for services on the $44.95 coupon. PERHAPS A BAIT AND SWITCH? Another man on the phone interjected to "just give it to her" and started looking a for way to ring it up. However, another man immediately came from the back area and started the same mansplaining, saying no to the other man's trying to find solution. Needless to say, I just left and have no plans to ever return. Perhaps better customer service skills and an actual care for your business will help them. Ridiculous!!

I had previously posted a negative review on this shop. The manager had me bring my car back to…read morethe shop, so that he could show me problems the shop had previously identified. As it turns out, Boyd's had correctly identified a problem which a body shop and the dealer later missed. I am most grateful to them. The front subframe was indeed rusted out. When some rust scale was removed, you could see a hole in the subframe, and it was clear that it was compromised in other areas as well. Boyd's is once again my go-to shop. I was reassured that the quality and honesty I have expected from them for over 25 years now continues.

Only since they had a $39.95 for a FULL SYNTHETIC OIL CHANGE is the ONLY reason I went to Tuffy's…read moreat this location. They are the BIGGEST RIP OFF I've experienced in a very long time! Here's a few examples ... TUFFYs on WEST 5th Av told me I needed SUSPENSION STRUTS ($1664 worth) coz my vehicle was "very bouncy" which it isn't AT ALL & they didn't even drive the car! Note: I had a 4 WHEEL ROTATION/BALANCE AND ALIGNMENT the day before elsewhere. I called back to the place that did my alignment to be sure they checked all suspension components (just out of curiosity since it's hard to trust some of these places) and they DID to find nothing that needed replaced! Then Tuffy said I "needed" a BATTERY REPLACEMENT coz there was some RESIDUE on it! Instead of just wiping it off, they'd prefer to rip off a customer! That was going to be $200! They sure don't go out of their way, in the very least! Then I "needed" SPARK PLUGS... (I had those replaced 3 years ago and had no issues there either.) Another $300! Then I "needed" BRAKE FLUID FLUSH (No reason just that it needed to be topped off) Oh they don't do top offs for a simple pouring of fluid into the reservoir until it reaches the full line! They'd rather charge $115 for a FLUSH! Then I "needed" STEERING COMPONENTS (tie rods & steering gear) Again, I had no issues there. Oh, that was an additional $500. The next day AFTER this BS nightmare, I brought the list of repairs from TUFFY to my regular car repair place that I've used for a decade for any major problems come up coz he's proven to be trustworthy. He did a DIAGNOSTIC and found nothing wrong with any of the above issues. (Which I already felt I knew but wanted confirmation.) So, THIS is what they call a "FREE COURTESY INSPECTION!" I'd call it something else but all in all saved myself $3,000 coz I speak up, ask questions, decline and follow thru with what I knew was a means of financial exploitation.
