My elderly mother recently brought her black Hyundai to this Firestone location and was charged over $1,300 for repairs. Less than two weeks later, her car broke down completely on the way to Nevada and was deemed not worth repairing by another mechanic. She was led to believe these repairs had made the vehicle safe and roadworthy. Now, she is out more than $1,300 -- with nothing to show for it -- a devastating blow for someone on a fixed income. (For reference, the car had under 100,000 miles.) This is not my first negative experience with this location. Over a decade ago, after servicing my Scion tC, they failed to add oil to the engine. Fortunately, my father-in-law owns a repair shop and caught the mistake before it caused catastrophic damage. That incident was enough for me to avoid this shop for years -- and this most recent experience with my mother has only reinforced my lack of trust. Consumers rely on auto shops to provide honest, thorough, and competent service -- especially those who are not mechanically inclined and must trust the expertise of the professionals they hire. This location has now twice demonstrated negligence and disregard for the customer's well-being. Firestone, I urge you to review this case and make it right for my mother. We have a Porsche that had an issue while traveling, we were nearby and called this Firestone on December 7th 2024- they guaranteed they could fix it since a staff member was familiar with working on foreign cars. We towed to the location, turns out they couldn't even diagnose it. It took over a week to tell us what they believed the issue was. They then said they needed to order a $1900 part from Germany and would take 3 weeks to arrive to fix the car. We agreed, 4 weeks passed with no contact. We had to call, and they blamed the delay on shipping. On the 5th week, they called me and asked if anyone had reached out to check in. I said No. The employee then said, "we forgot what we quoted you for the part, by any chance do you remember what we quoted you?" They blamed it on another employee leaving for vacation for not knowing what they quoted us. I was appalled by this, I said "you should have written it down in your system, why would you ask?" He said " it's because we received the part, but it's more than we quoted. Now they said it was actually $3500." After many calls and being upset they agreed to honor the "original quoted price of $1900 and that the car would be ready next day. The next day they called and said the car wasn't ready, but now had ANOTHER issue they claimed would cost $2100 on top of the $1900 + labor. The new total was roughly equating $4000. We complained and they had to honor their mistaken original quote. But the new issue would cost $2100+. That price was out of our budget so we said we'd pick the car up and take it somewhere else. A week later Michael called my fiancé saying we need to pick up the defective car or they will charge US for holding it. We communicated we would pick the car up but we didn't want to pay if it wasn't fixed. We agreed to pay the labor, but asked them to take out the part they installed because it didn't fix the issue like they said it would. They said they would give us the 2100$ part needed to fix the car for free & they could keep working on it but we had to pay upfront over the phone. More weeks passed, we called again to check when their mechanic would show up to fix the car- and the guy was not there and there was no priority or urgency. Another month passed and still no update so we called and they gave us the same story. We spoke to a Michael, and Bert and a couple of others. Bottom line, no car, no resolution. Just a nightmare. February 17th 2025- they guaranteed it will be ready the next day, we called on the 18th and the employees were confused and said the technician left for the day. We called the 19th for an update, then they said they couldn't fix it. So we planned a trip to pick it up (we live over an hour away) and they said they had to reassemble the Porsche before we could pick it up. We contacted corporate and have been waiting for a call back. Our car has been sitting there getting taken apart for almost 4 months now and are saying they don't even know what's wrong with the car and can't fix it. It's been disassembled so we have to wait for them to now put it back together before we can retrieve it which is taking even MORE time. We have been more than understanding and lenient, but if they couldn't fix the car- they should have said it from the beginning. So I called today 1:32 pm March 3rd 2025, to get an email to track their excuses and quotes. The employee claimed there was no email to contact them or corporate, I asked for the number and he wouldn't give that to me either. They didn't give me their name, and told me to call back in an hour to speak to Bert and hung up on me. Yelp is our only option to file a formal complaint at this point. We've been paying out of pocket for a rental car and I told one employee named Bert that we would need a full reimbursement for our car rental for every day they held our car out there. Enough is enough. We need our car and we need it to be working. There is no excuse for this and we are seeking legal advice against Firestone. WARNING: Stay far away from this Firestone! When Carlos was the manager, I took my 2015 BMW X5 in for nothing more than a basic oil change. What I got instead was a nightmare. Afterward, I noticed oil leaking everywhere. They claimed they just "retightened" the drain plug. A few days later, the leak was even worse. Turns out their so-called tech cross-threaded the drain plug into the oil pan and completely ruined it. The only reason I went back again was to give them a chance to correct the issue. I dealt with this oil leak for a long time, trying to live with it since I barely even drive this vehicle, but I finally couldn't stand it anymore. When I returned, I expected them to do the right thing and fix their mistake. Instead, the new managers, Miguel and Burt, refused to take responsibility. Their excuse? "It's been too long." Seriously? This was their screw-up from day one. The original tech is gone (thank God), but the damage he caused is still here. And now the current management is just as bad, careless, incompetent, and dishonest. They ruin cars, dodge accountability, and leave the customer to deal with the cost. I've always brought my car here for its alignment, but today my low tire pressure warning light went off. I stopped in without an appointment to see if they could help me out as I had already put air in the tires at the gas station, but that didn't resolve it. So I was afraid it was something worse like maybe a nail in my tire. They were so warm and welcoming, and took care of my issue within moments! Went in 2 days later last Saturday 8/17/24 for a vehicle inspection for Lyft and even though on Lyft's website it said it was $9.99, Firestone charged me $21.99. I mentioned that it was only supposed to be $9.99 and offered to show them on Lyft's website...and I was told "we don't know nothing about $9.99" while shaking his head. Welp...maybe Lyft made a mistake, and even so, I think some consideration would have been nice and even a small discount of $2 would have satisfied me as I drove out of the way to come to this specific Firestone due to the reasonable price. I bring my coveted Vettes as well as my old Suburban/the mechanics can fix the entire spectrum of cars and ages. I have been going to this owner since they were at the Laguna Hills Mall. Extremely disappointed in this company and in this location. I used to be able to count on them and trust them. Right now I can't. This is the second time I have left the store unsatisfied with their customer service. The first time I let it slide because sometimes people have bad days. This time, I made an appointment for two cars to get alignments done. One of them also needed the emergency brake adjusted. First car didn't not get in until almost 40 minutes after its appointment. Second car didn't get in until almost 2 hours after the appointment. I understand things pop up unexpectedly, but I shouldn't see three mechanics in the garage area laughing and goofing around if they are behind like this. To add salt on the injury, two customers with later appointments than mine, one of them also needed an adjustment was handled before I was. In addition, they never did my emergency brake. They told me that it would take about two hours because they would have to drop my exhaust. This is not true. The only reason I asked them to do it was because they would have the car up on the lift making it a lot easier than me borrowing or buying ramps to do it myself. So after waiting two hours past my appointment time, and getting that explanation of work required, I told them not to do it. Instead, today, I borrowed some ramps and did it myself and I did not need to drop the exhaust nor did it take anywhere close to 2 hours. Not sure if they (the company) has new management, but lately the service has been terrible. And forget about getting help if you call the main office to discuss/dispute a bill. read more

Each time I've been to Firestone in lake forest (in the Lucille's parking lot) in the last year they have been truthful, kind, knowledgeable and have gone above and beyond to ensure my safety as a driver. I type this from the lobby, brought my car in for a screw in the tire and needing a patch; it's now nearly 45 minutes past closing and they're still diligently working on cars. I don't feel it's because they're lazy, it's clearly because they're understaffed and they care. As a woman, I never feel lesser than or spoken down to and that's important to me. When I have questions, they are answered quickly, completely and honestly. I've been bringing my car to Firestone since I was a teenager and this specific location has my loyalty and respect. The price, to me, of course could be better; but that's life in 2023. This location does the best they can to get the value of your dollar to go farther. read more

I came into Firestone today to get new tires. The first thing I noticed upon entering was the excessively loud TV volume in the waiting area. I temporarily ignored it and approached the first person I saw, Kenneth, who quickly checked me in. Despite having an appointment, they didn't start working on my vehicle for nearly 45 minutes after I arrived. Since I had no other transportation, I decided to stay in the waiting area and work. This is where things took a turn for the worse. I politely asked Kenneth if the TV volume could be turned down, as it was blaringly LOUD. He initially said there was no remote control to adjust it. I then suggested there might be buttons on the TV itself, but he said it wasn't allowed, claiming other customers wanted to listen. I pointed out that there was no one else in the waiting area, to which he responded, "we want it on," implying it was the staff's preference. Kenneth suggested I go outside if it was too loud, despite the nearly 90F° forecast. Even if the weather had been cooler, this response felt inappropriate. With no other options, I ended up outside and encountered at least two other people who were also there because of the loud TV. They expressed similar frustrations. To make matters worse, there was no water provided. Another customer was unhappy about the lack of coffee and was told he could walk to a nearby shop to get some. None of this felt customer-friendly and probably explains why this location has a low rating. I'm giving this place a one-star review, and would give zero if it were possible. The Firestone El Toro branch has always accommodated my service appts. Yesterday was no exception, I had called and Bert was able to schedule me same day in the afternoon since they had an opening. Mike had facilitated my appt check-in and was courteous despite the busy phone calls and other customers arriving. El Toro branch has also always honored the Firestone lifetime re-alignment program that I've continued to enjoy; other locations will sometimes discourage or decline servicing citing that I have a lifted/ modified vehicle thus creating hassle to push for servicing or when they recognize I'm utilizing the lifetime program and thus not paying ala carte. El Toro branch always has dedicated and professional staff that take the time to listen to my requests for the re-alignment. Armando Jimenez performed the realignment closest to the specs I requested and that goes a long way with customer satisfaction, value perception and loyalty. He did an outstanding job! I have been coming here since 2010 and I have seen many managers come and go, but every time I would come in to have my cars serviced I was treated respectfully and fairly! The new staff (this Firestone absorbed the customers from the other Firestone in the Laguna Hills Mall that closed down a few years ago) which includes Burt, Kenneth, Dylan, and Michael have been nothing but so kind and professional! They will only make necessary recommendations and be up front as to whether or not the service is needed urgently or can wait. I'm so grateful for the staff at this Firestone! read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE!! I had an appointment scheduled for 2:00pm on 8/28/25 for a simple alignment. I showed up early at 1:30pm, expecting they would at leaset get my car in around my appointment time. By 2:50pm my car still wasn't even on the rack yet. I watched as a truck pulled up to the aligment machine, then another car was put behind it, and I was apparently the third in line despite having a scheduled appointment. When I asked my service advisor what was going on, I was told, "This is like a doctor appointment. Don't expect to be helped right away". When I asked why I wasn't kept informed about the long wait, the service advisor's response was: "Why didn't you ask me?" That kind of attitude is unbelievable. It should be their job to communicate with customers, not the other way around. That is completely unacceptable. If that's how Firestone operates, then don't waste people's time by setting appointmens you cannnot honor. Be upfront and honest about wait times instead of misleading customers. Took my car to get my alignment and they haven't done anything to it besides print me a bogus wheel printout. Sent my wife there for the second time for correction and they still haven't done anything to solve the alignment issue, not to mention they did not treat my wife kindly when questioned how the service was poorly done. My father 78 years old left his vehicle with firestone for repair, Gabe, Tom and their mechanics were working on the vehicle but couldn't find the part to finish the job. They would park the vehicle outside in front of firestone, and one day the vehicle was towed. Now the tow place wants their compensation and firestone has ignored our request to pay the the tow. They parked it there and they won't take responsibility for the cost. All they do is give my father who's 78 a phone number to call, that no one answers. Beware My wife went for a wheel alignment and balance , told the service person to tap the oil id needed , she wad charge for a coolant flushing and the parts used plus labor , when she ask another person , the other service adviser to her it's for the oil . It took them more than 4 hrs to complete the job . This review is based on my husband's experience here on 09/19/2024 around 1pm. My husband commutes from North OC to this area for work as a nurse. On his way to work his tire blew out on the freeway. Luckily he was able to put a spare on. He took his car here during his short break, and the staff here went above and beyond to help him out. Not only did they get him out in 30 mins, but they were very polite and understanding of my husband's situation. Really not happy with thesrs guys. I came in on Saturday dropped off my truck. Told them I was going to be out late that night is it OK to pick it up in the morning sure the managers says. We've been taking our cars to Firestone for about 12 years or so for regular service, tires, etc. Started coming to this location after the one in Laguna Hills recently closed. We brought our 2017 Toyota Prius here for a regular oil and filter service earlier this week. This is our 3rd Prius and we service them regularly every time the service light comes on every 5000 miles or so. Received a call and they said that the CV boot had split and was losing grease and we needed to replace the CV joint. They said the repair would be about $850. I was shocked in light of the fact that our 7 year old car only has 57,000 miles on it. He said some cars wear the CV joint out prematurely. Since that part is covered under the Toyota Certified vehicle warranty, I told him I didn't want them to do the repair. After we picked the car up, I got an email with "Recommended services declined by the customer." Instead of a CV joint, this stated that the car needed "Lower ball joints." Those are two very different things!!! I took the car to Toyota and paid $189 to have it checked out. They said their front end technician inspected it very carefully and could not find anything wrong. This is the last time we will be taking our cars to Firestone for service or repair work. I had an appointment and was told that I still needed to wait. What's the purpose of an appointment if you have to wait anyway to get things started. The whole thing was to take 2 hours of course it was more. Your wasting my time and by not honoring my appointment at the time specified your saying your time is more valuable than mine. You don't value my time. That you disrespect a paying customer because you didn't honor the appointment immediately or within a reasonable time. This is one of those things that's basic and easy to do and you don't. It's like saying you have a warranty but not honoring your commitment. It bad business it's just horrible. Shared a picture of his wife and him a Negan! it was great! Then even though it was already 4pm and they close at 6pm he took my car in because I thought I needed new brake pads. They took the tires off and showed me I still had about 10,000 miles left on my brake pads. He said I can change them but you really don't need it yes. I decided to wait. They put the tires back on and also checked everything on my car and emailed me the results. They could have said something was wrong but they were honest and said your car is great! $2k and 2 months wasted. Don't go here. I had to get some repairs done to a used Jeep I recently bought (new struts, tires, etc) and noted that the back right section of this car made a loud popping / creaking noise that I'd like to get looked at / repaired. I was informed while buying this Jeep that a strut replacement should easily take care of this noise issue Half a day later; I get my car back and the noise is still there. I wait about 2 weeks in hopes it would go away after the struts had some time to break in, but the noise never stopped; so I eventually took it back to Firestone under their warranty to be looked at / repaired Long story short; I took my car back to this location multiple times for them to fix this issue and they would come up with BS excuses as to why this sound was happening. One of their excuses was "I have too much stuff in my trunk". They would also tell me "we don't hear anything coming from your car" which is ridiculous because this sound is incredibly loud. They would also forget to work on my car sometimes; leaving me without a vehicle for multiple days Recently; I took my car to a different mechanic and they said Firestone's excuses for this noise are "absurd" and let me know that Firestone didn't put my struts on properly smh Don't spend your money here. I would stay clear of this shop. I get it that the workers are in a per hour basis. But they're purposely stalling work to the max. I went in to have a tire rotation. The worker removed my front tire and brought it further inside (presumably for balancing, although i didn't order it), then left and go around the shop that looks like 'trying to look busy', for more than an hour!!! Literally without touching my tire. So I complained to the front desk and confirmed I didn't want a tire balancing. In which the guy went and talked to the guy still going around the shop "doing nothing", without knowing I'm intently watching him. I saw them get my tire sitting by the balancer machine, and rotated my tires in about 15min. Even with the balancing job, it shouldn't take 3 hours, right??? read more
