I've used this Firestone shop since 2015. I've never been disappointed. Today I learned that my 2008 Dodge Charger was beyond help. The guys performed a thorough diagnostic check, gave me my options, and I decided to send her to the salvage yard. At every step of this, the guys at Firestone were somehow both professional and considerate of my feelings. They were patient and very generous with me, knowing that giving up my car was like losing a loved one. I couldn't ask for better service. New car is on its way. I came in over some unknown shaking after diagnosis I was told it was the knock sensor(146$)while replacing the sensor I was told there would be an extra 140 added due to a routine gasket replacement that was needed to replace the sensor. Confused as to why it wasn't included in the original price? At the time I agreed cause I trust this place, looking back I am angry I wasn't told about it originally sense usually if you touch a gasket you replace the gasket. Only gave one star because I couldn't give zero stars. Went in for an oil change and everyone seemed nice. Place smelled terrible but it's an auto place, it's kind of expected. First issue, they didn't give me a sticker on my window. For me the sticker is important. It helps me stay on track and not be late on my oil changes. Second mistake, exactly 3000 miles after getting my oil change, I discover that they had destroyed my oil pan. No clue what that is but needless to say, my car had NO oil left at all. Let me remind you, it's only been 3000 miles since the oil change. Now I have to spend $40 extra dollars because they broke something without fixing it. Never, and I mean NEVER returning to Firestone. I'm not the type to leave bad reviews but I strongly believe that they deserved this one. read more

I took my car in due to "check engine" light was on. The bill consisted of diagnostic test (109.99), reset modules (73.50), brake light switch (83.99), remove/replace brake light switch (102.9) for a total of 432.67. Problem is the brake light switch was faulty, my cruise control no longer works. Called Subaru (I have a crosstrek/2014) and ordered a brake light switch from them (Firestone said if they used Subaru for the part they'd charge me more, to replace their faulty switch). Subaru is charging me $22/for the brake light switch. Now I'm taking it to a reputable mechanic to service my car. Needless to say I will not use Firestone as a mechanic ever again. Not even an apology for the hassle. I did not lose my cool, didn't raise my voice- I'd rate their customer service as poor. read more

This Firestone was insanely helpful and kind. We were from out of town and all of our dashboard lights came on and after going to three unhelpful Jiffy Lubes we finally took it to this Firestone. They were able to fit us in that day and quickly address the problems and provided clear and concise explanations. The front desk people are very friendly. Thats the only positive review I have for this place. I've never left a negative review for anyone before but I felt that others should know about this before deciding to use Firestone. I would never use them again. A series of events happened to my scion tc (2007) car within a week since I brought it in for a simple oil change ( I actually did not need an oil change for another 2,000 miles but I wanted to make sure my car was in good condition before taking a long trip) and to have my tires rotated. I told them that I would be going on a long road trip this week. They checked everything and said my battery, brakes, and etc were great...... Sunday- Oil Change and tires rotated... Wednesday- I had driven my car about 10 minutes and as I was coming home, my car turned off in front of my neighborhood. I had my car towed back to Firestone. My car stayed overnight for the repairs. They told me the alternator needed to be replaced. I decided to change my battery on top of that, just to be safe. Overall, I paid $483.53 for this service and I think thats a fair price. Thursday- I went to pick up my car. As soon as I turned my car on, I noticed the lights were left on. Sloppy. Then.... as I was trying to roll down the passenger side window, it would not work. I informed the mechanics that my window was not working and that this is a new problem. One of the mechanics came out to check the window and could not get it to function either. They said more than likely, the mother switch ( Power window switch) is broken. I asked if the problem could potentially be related to any of the recent changes to the car such as the new battery or the alternator. One of the mechanics said, it has no relation to anything they have done to my car and that, this was a completely different issue. They advised me to leave my car overnight again for them to evaluate the problem. Friday- They confirmed that the mother switch is broken and needs to be replaced. I told them I was not interested. I came to pick up my car and they handed me a "recommended service bill" which totaled $498.58 to replace the power window switch. As soon as I got in my car and tested the window, it suddenly worked. So.... obviously, my mother switch is not broken. Thanks Firestone. I find this all to be a very strange coincidence how these series of events occurred. I have no experiences in cars. I'm sure Firestone did a great job replacing the battery and changing the alternator. But I don't know what definitive test they ran before confirming my mother switch was broken because it is clearly functioning. read more

Another instance of excellence!!! Bought tires, brakes, etc from them over the past 2 years. Had my tires balanced and rotated, then I started hearing road noise. Much like when you put AT tires on a truck. I take it in and they tell me it's the wheel bearings and it's going to be close to $800 to replace both front bearings. Shocked, I tell them I need to think about it. I get my keys (no charge for inspection), and as I'm leaving the gentleman who test drove it said that if I have a warrantee it may be covered because the axle goes through the bearings. Called Carmax... COVERED!!! Firestone could have pulled in $800, but because of a caring professional, I get to keep the money in my pocket. It shows me that it's not about the business, it's about the customer. More businesses should take a few pages from Firestone Bearden's playbook!!! Superb!!! read more

I walked in needing an oil change and a patch up on a tire. They automatically said a tire patch up would cost $30 even though other local shops would do it for free. After looking at the tire, the sales associate then decided to try and upsell me 4 new tires for almost $600 while knowing fully well that 2 of my tires were still in good condition. When I told him that's not what I planned to spend, he suggested to get a store credit card for the purchase which was insulting. Furthermore, he proceeded to explain how store credit cards work assuming I had never used a credit card. I get that I look very young and inexperienced but goodness gracious, he was so patronizing. In short, if you would like to get over-charged for things you don't need, go to Firestone. If you would also like to get talked down to because you look like you've never been to a car repair shop, go to Firestone. read more

We are not from Knoxville but my daughter is in school here and her car was having some power steering issues. We don't have a mechanic locally so we took her car to the Firestone on Kingston Pike. We are so glad we came! They were so accommodating about everything. The service was excellent and they were even willing to work out how to pay long distance. I've patronized multiple Firestone's in multiple cities and they always seem to mess something up. Below is a list of issues I've had the past 3 years and this particular one is guilty of numbers 2 and 5. 1. The oil cap wasn't put back on and didn't notice until I was 500 miles into a roadtrip and splashed oil was burning on my engine block. 2. The battery was dead after service and it had to be re-charged. 3. The power steering fluid cap was left off after service and I didn't notice until my pump was running dry. Shortly after I had to spend $300 on a leak. 4. They didn't connect the intake between filter box and mass air sensor. This cause it to stall on my wife 5 miles down the road and she had to wait to be towed. 5. Tire's had to be re-balanced three times to stop shaking. 6. Power steering fluid was well below the minimum level after a flush and re-fill. 7. They din't pack the ball joint they replaced, then it failed and jacked up my tires. They covered the part only and not the labor. They also did some questionable things with the paperwork to make it look like they didn't mess up. I've given them thousands of dollars over the years, but I will never buy new tires or have my car serviced at a Firestone again. read more

*** Received a follow-up call from the manager of the Bearden location. What he explained to me makes sense. While the repair that was ultimately done to my tire is safe, Bridgestone/Firestone has corporate policies and procedures that they need to adhere to. My "go-to" local dealer, while reputable and that also has several locations, probably has more latitude to perform these repairs than does a large, corporate entity. I have no problem with the quality and performance of Bridgestone or Firestone products; I would gladly run them on my car. My only disappointment was that I received a "no repair possible" from them, yet ultimately I was able to go elsewhere and save the cost of a new tire from a different (smaller) dealer. Ultimately, it was corporate requirements that did not allow the Bridgestone/Firestone dealership to complete the needed repair. *** Stopped in at this location and asked about patching a punctured tire. The tire was punctured in the tread, not the sidewall. However, the tech said that the puncture was too large to be repaired. Apparently they wanted to sell me a new tire (an expensive one at that given the size and speed rating of the tire). The next day (Monday) I went to my "regular" and trusted local tire supplier and they said the repair would not be a problem. I've been driving on the repaired tire for 3-4 weeks now with no issues whatsoever. I also stopped at their sister station further west on Kingston Pike and experienced the same, lame story. read more

I stopped in one day to inquire about white wall tires for an older vehicle and they were straight up with me about what I already knew: buying locally was going to be expensive. They mentioned that they were a tireRack.com installer and I could find the tires I needed online and have them shipped there and we could schedule a day after they arrived. I went home and ordered the tires (more than 50% less than the cheapest local option) and made an appointment for the day after the estimated arrival date. All went well with the shipping and they arrived. My older vehicle also had locking lug nuts from the factory that I did not possess the key to. After speaking to many shops in the area, these guys were fastest to remove them in both quote and actual work time. They didn't just try to book hours for the removal of the locked lugs and their replacements. Pricing and honestly are superb here. The morning of my appointment I was in and out in less than 2 hours which was way less than the time I thought it would take. The tires look great and the car feels brand new now. Every step of the way I was under promised and over delivered. Exactly how mechanics should be. The managers I spoke to at the shop were some of the most welcoming mechanic managers I've ever spoken to. I wasn't made to feel stupid, and never felt like anyone was jerking me around. The only slight negative pull away was the customer service of a few of the guys in the shop the morning the work was actually performed. I really got the impression that I was being "hurried" along. However, because of the way the managers treated me I just let it go as possibly the two gents I spoke with were having to sort out some other issues. Stopped in needing a right front brake rotor due to shimmy when braking. They quoted 2 rotors at $90 each and $100 in shop labor. $277 total. Also, they identified $1234 in potential repairs from tires to shocks. I told them thanks for the offer, but I would fix the problem myself. I picked up the 2 rotors at AutoZone for $74 total for both and took 30 minutes to put them on. Problem solved. Stay away unless you like paying double for parts and unneeded repairs! read more

Had a 9 am appointment for a tire rotation and to check the alignment. After sitting an hour and a half with the truck in the bay, we were told we needed brake pads, and told it would take about an hour. My husband said okay. An hour and a half later they were done with the brakes, we thought we were ready to go, not so they had had the truck still in the bay. My husband ask were we ready to go. The reply, we have to check the alignment. WHAT!! You have had the truck for 3 hours and all you have done is brakes and rotate tires? Will we go back to this Firestone? NO WAY! I had to edit this review, we had greasy finger prints on the outside of both doors, hood and in the inside of the drivers side door. read more

When I called to schedule the appointment, they were upfront about their wait time. Also, I had no surprise charges. They quoted me the final price before I handed them the keys. Service was great. Awesome experience at firestone. I initially had my breaks done with them in the spring and when an unusual noise came up not to long after they looked at my car again free of charge. Unfortunately this did not fix the problem and I had to return again this week for abnormal break noise. They called me and said they were just going to replace my break entirely free of charge for my inconvenience. It is rare you see a big company "make it right" but I am so glad I stuck with firestone and trusted them with my car, and ultimately my safety. read more

The service took forever. I brought my car in at 8 in the morning and it took them 4 hours to even look at it. After getting a call at 12 with an estimate and approving everything they said it would take 2 hours to fix the brakes. They called me and said the mechanic was finishing up and it was almost ready so I headed over, only to find out it still wasn't ready and would take another hour. I don't know what sort of communication they have going on but this process has been the most frustrating service I have ever received. read more

I have had many issues with this Firestone in the past. Last summer I went in to get my tires replaced and they put a tire on wrong because two days later I woke up to a flat and I had to pay for a tow truck to have the tire fixed. In my experience Firestone has always had issues with over charging, poor mechanics and just plain awful customer service, however this past experience of mine takes the cake. I showed up on Monday August 28th because my car stalled out in a parking lot. After the diagnostic test, they told me that my fuel pump and fuel sensor needed to be replaced and it was going to cost about $800 which I payed because I had no other options at the time. Three hours later I showed up to pick up my car and I was driving down kingston, maybe half a mile from Firestone, when I took my foot off the gas and started to brake but my car started to speed up on its own. I was approaching a red light and my car still wasn't going under 10-15 mph so I had to quickly pull into a parking lot and put my car into park while my car was still moving, causing me to jerk forward and hit my head on the steering wheel. Honestly, I was lucky that this was the only injury I faced, because if I was on the interstate or I didn't have an arrow to turn then I definitely would've wrecked my car and could've very easily been killed. And like I said earlier, I was only half a mile away from Firestone. I called Firestone and they seemed rather annoyed that I couldn't drive my car back there and that they had to go through the trouble of calling a tow truck for me. The next day, Tuesday August 29th, I talked to Jerry, who is probably the only good employee that Firestone has, and he test drove my car for 17 miles and couldn't duplicate the problem so they just gave my car back without actually doing anything to it. On Wednesday August 30th, I was driving to my apartment complex and I stopped by the office so I turned my car off, ran inside for no more than 2 minutes and when I came out and started my car, it stalled out again. So for the third time, I was towed to firestone and I called about 30 minutes before they closed to see if anyone had looked at my car. Bob answered the phone and proceeded to tell me that my car was out of gas and when that happens, cars have a tendency to stall out and stop moving. My car was low on gas but certainly not out and I definitely didn't appreciate being treated like I was stupid. Jerry called me several minutes later apologizing because no one had actually looked at my car yet and the tow truck driver told them it seemed like my car was low on gas. The next day, Thursday August 31st, I talked to Kevin who did a very poor job of answering any of my questions and he told me that basically they messed up the first time I came in and put the sensor on wrong so that it had to be replaced. I finally went to pick my car up later that day and when I went inside Greg is the one that helped me and he didn't apologize for anything, he was very rude and I felt like he was just trying to get me out of there as quickly as possible because they didn't want to own up to their mistakes. So aside from poor mechanics, awful customer service and outrageous rates, my life was put in danger not only once but two times because of a mistake that Firestone made. Obviously this is last time I will ever use this horrendous company and I hope something is done so that this kind of mistake is not repeated, because like I said earlier, I could have been seriously injured or even killed due to simple incompetence. read more

On 4/28/2017 I took my husbands 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 to this location to have a simple oil change performed, in preparation for a camping trip to the beach with our children. On 4/30/2017, only 160 miles after the oil change, the truck motor blew up, resulting in a $24,000 motor replacement and a lost vacation as we had no additional means to pull our camper. As an Insurance Agent I knew that I needed to document everything, so I took many photos at the scene documenting the loss of oil, the hole in the side of the motor, and we even took an oil sample from the truck. The next morning we reluctantly agreed to have the truck towed back to this location for diagnosis, and to no ones surprise Vance (the manager) determined that the motor blowing up was not caused by their oil change. When we picked the truck up all of the evidence of massive oil loss had been cleaned up, and the oil plug now had a yellow chalk circle around it, all of which did not compare to the photos of the areas prior to the truck being towed back to them. At this point, when I pointed out that the photos did not match I was offered half of the replacement as a settlement ($11,9XX) from Firestone, which I denied because the incident was not 1/2 my fault so I should not be responsible for 1/2 of the damage. Firestone stated that they were offering me this $11,9XX settlement not as accepting fault, but as a "customer satisfaction." WOW, that's quite a large settlement to offer if you were 100% sure that this was not your fault. Finally, after much despair and aggravation I decided to file the claim on the vehicle insurance. A full motor tear down was performed by a certified diesel mechanic and the adjuster agreed along with the diesel mechanic that there was absolutely NO doubt that the issue was in fact caused by oil as ALL 6 CRANK BEARINGS were shot along with the main being chewed up. Insurance paid nearly $28,000 total and regained that money from Firestone. Now, keep in mind that we were without our camper tow vehicle, boat tow vehicle, and my husband uses his truck for work for 98 days! Not to mention the countless hours, unreturned emails, calls and stress that we dealt with on this. We attempted to trade the vehicle, as you can imagine we just want away from this entire situation, and were told by the local Dodge dealer that the truck had depreciated by $9,900. We asked Firestone for the depreciation, along with the loss of use for 98 days on the vehicle and although they accepted fault on the motor repair they have denied paying the additional costs. I would strongly suggest reading other reviews of Firestone prior to using this, or any location for anything even as small as an oil change. I drove 45 minutes to use this location, due to a long history of dealing with them and we were treated horribly by them, and their corporate claims office throughout this entire process. I've lived in Knoxville for 8 years and my family always goes to these guys for tire-related issues. Yesterday, I needed three tires to be replaced before a big cross-country drive, and I was on a tight budget. I walked in, explained my situation, and Bob took great care of me. He crunched numbers for 5-10 minutes to make sure I got the best deal, called me twice to keep me updated on the process, and was kind and conversational. The older guys who work there can be a little sassy (pay attention to your tone, boys), so I suggest that any Yelpers looking for a good customer service experience go to this location and ask for Bob. This will be my second time going to this location in Knoxville, Tennessee bascially as a last resort mainly because these chains have horrible reputations of jeopardizing your vehicle to gain more profit. Againgst my better judgement I took my car in for a routine oil change that included topping off ALL fluids, changing oil filter as well of course the oil and checking the battery. Let me just rewind back to February 29, 2012 when I took my car in for replacing the struts. After getting this done which they did do about maybe a few weeks later I took my car into a local privately owned mechanic whom I had some further work done to my car only to find out that the bolts on the left driver side that was suppose to secure the tire in place were not tightened at all. I remember noticing that my car ride was a bit rough still even after getting the struts done but did not think that much of it. I thought in a naive manner that maybe the car had to get settled or maybe it was my imagination. When the local mechanic worked on my car he discovered that the bolts were indeed not tightened and that was putting my life in great danger driving my car in this condition. Firestone at 5601 Kingston Pike in Knoxville, TN neglected to tighten the bolts (very dangerous) to go without saying. I return again on November 14, 2013 to get the oil changed and thought I would proceed to tell of my experience last year but as I was doing so the "gentlemen" that was taking my information rudely cut me off. That would of course be bad customer service to start off. I am in customer service so I know what to expect and what kind of service I should be receiving. I already was paranoid that they would once again do only a 50% of the job and that percentage is being generous. Let me add that I work two jobs and that my time is extremely precious, my point is I expect the job done right the first time and done right since after all they did recieve payment for their horrible service. Later on that evening I decide to check to see if my fluids had been topped off only to find out that they indeed had not been evident of the coolant being at the same level as when I first took my car in. Now I will have to take my car somwhere else to have the job finished that should have been finished the first time. Please do not go to this particular location in Knoxville, TN for they always perform POOR work.
