I went to a " specialty " local VW/Audi shop that overfilled my crankcase with overpriced Amsoil (…read moreI run Rotella synthetic in my 335,000 mile high performance Jetta TDI. ) I was worried about it being overfilled because I'm going on a cross country trip and overfilling can do unknown damage to your engine by seeping and leaking into places not intended to be lubricated or burned off. I called from an Oil Express place ( that was ignoring me) and talked to a very nice young lady named Ashton. She actually listened and told me I could bring it in. So I did, and within 10 minutes a nice gentleman drained ( or sucked out) at least a half quart of the very expen$ive racing oil. ( It takes about 4.4 quarts and the specialty shop put in 5.0 plus any residual in the engine. ) This small gesture was so appreciated and went a long way because i have 3 vehicles including a late model BMW X5 《diesel》 and classic 82 Jeep CJ7 and will put them at the top of the list on the future. Thank you so much Pep Boys and it's so nice to see hard, attentive workers who do work with a smile and actually show up to work unlike so many other places using " covid" as the socially acceptable excuse.

If I could give negative stars, I would. This was an absolutely horrible experience. The vehicle…read morethat I had intended to get an oil change for has power locks that don't work well. The vehicle can't be locked b/c it probably won't get unlocked. For this reason I don't have the remote lock/unlock on the keychain - only the key - and I also have the keychain labeled 'DO NOT LOCK.' Before bringing it into this Pep Boys I made sure to put bright yellow sticky notes on the inside of it to let anyone know. Well, Sabrina Stratton went outside to check the mileage and I warned her not to lock it. Once she came back inside from obtaining the mileage I went back to my vehicle to get something. I did not have the key with me, Sabrina Stratton still had it. When I tried to open the door, it was locked. I went inside and told Sabrina Stratton that she locked my vehicle. I was not irate or unreasonable, I just simply told her that she'd locked it. She denied, started shaking her head, and talking over me. Some of the guys in the back tried to unlock it with a wire hanger but that didn't work. Sabrina Stratton ordered a slim Jim & b/c of the locking mechanism that didn't work, either. I asked Sabrina Stratton what to do and she told me to "call a locksmith." When I told her I wasn't paying for it, she got an attitude with me and informed me that she wasn't paying for it. I eventually explained to Sabrina Stratton that when she put the switch in the auxiliary position, that was enough to activate the locks. (This is also why shops usually open the driver's side window.) I told her, calmly, that I never accused her of locking my vehicle on purpose or with malicious intent. She still denied doing it. What was I to do? I called a locksmith and paid $90 cash to get my car unlocked. Sabrina Stratton nor the manager ever offered to pay for even half of it. About the best thing I can say for this location is I was able to negotiate a price with the locksmith that I used b/c their locksmith could do it for $90 so I guess that was helpful. And I still needed my oil changed and Sabrina Stratton refused my business and told me the manager refused my business as well. She said that was b/c of the lockout. I went to another establishment to try to get my oil changed and was refused b/c it was too late. By this time it was 5:30PM. So, Sabrina Stratton at Pep Boys locked me out of my vehicle, I had to pay $90 to get it unlocked and she never offered to make it right, she still denied doing this, and then she and the manager of this Pep Boys refused my business even after I begged. I will not have another chance to get my oil changed until next week. So, if they don't want my money then I will never give them that opportunity again and I don't suggest them to you, either. Update: My husband and I called the store and spoke with Mike, the manager, explained the situation, and he flat-out refused to pay for the locksmith that Sabrina Stratton caused me to need and didn't even apologize for her behavior. Don't go here.

The kindness, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail stood out from the beginning. They thoroughly checked everything and worked hard to provide the best options for my repairs while keeping me in constant communication about the progress. I had visited three different shops and received three different quotes for the same service and parts. After reading previous Google reviews, I decided to give Meineke a try--and I am so glad I did. Adam and his team are phenomenal. As a senior citizen, it means a great deal to know there are still honest, hardworking people who truly care about their customers. I never felt pressured or misled about unnecessary repairs. Instead, I felt informed, respected, and at ease throughout the entire process. Even though I haven't been in the Huntsville area long, I can confidently say I have found my go-to auto repair shop for future services and repairs. I am grateful for the excellent service and will definitely return as a loyal customer. Meineke Store #2755--you all truly rock!

On Friday, 10-24-25, I took my car to have an oil change at meineke in South Huntsville location. When my wife arrived to pick it up, she noticed a large crack on the passenger side of the windshield. I immediately brought it to the technician's attention, and he called the manager, Logan (Anthony), back to inspect the damage. Once Logan came back into the shop, he took pictures of the damage and said he would contact me back the next day for a resolution. I waited until 4 p.m. the next day and had to call him myself. He claimed to have reviewed the footage and said "nothing happened," suggesting the crack occurred after the car was parked outside, facing a highway, and therefore they would not be take responsibility and would do nothing even though the car was in their custody. Additionally, they forgot to put the "oil change" sticker on the windshield, a small detail that says a lot about their lack of care and attention... I then requested the corporate number, which he said he didn't have, and would get back to me, which also did not happen yet. I later emailed Meineke corporate, only to be told that the locations are "independently owned and operated," and they couldn't do anything either. Translating to that being my problem after all, even though the damage occurred during the time the car was in their custody. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed by their lack of accountability and professionalism. If this is how they handle a and a relatively minor issue, I can't imagine trusting them with anything more serious.
