However, they supposedly "got it right" the first time, but now they are saying they couldn't. Then, to reiterate, called me a liar saying I changed control arms after the alignment. Because that makes sense to do. They still would not own up to any mistakes. Refused to warranty any tire, tried to sell me on parts, upsell me on new tires and simply would not make it right. On I-25 in Longmont, I got a flat tire. When my husband went to change the tire, we discovered that the spare was flat, too. A kind passerby stopped and brought my husband to TDS. They filled the spare and checked it for leaks, without charge. When we were back on the road, we scrapped going to Fort Collins, due to time constraints. I wasn't comfortable driving back to Denver on the spare, so we decided to patronize TDS, since they helped us. We were lucky in that they had one tire in stock for my car, which we bought. We explained our time constraints and they worked quickly to rotate the tires, put the new one on, and put the spare in the trunk. These guys are so helpful and they added some good fortune to our otherwise crummy day. They are kind of out of the way for many people, but if you're in the area and you have tire-related needs, I suggest stopping in. Friendliness and a willingness to go the extra mile is hard to come by these days, so when I experience it, I want the whole world to know!

Attended the new shop opening, located just off I-25 and Colorado route 66, where I met Mr. Maggio's family and some of the other customers who call Hands On Autotech their home for vehicle repair and servicing. I first went there based on the recommendation of the Martino troubleshooter show on 630 KHOW AM radio; 10 AM - 2PM, M-F. My opinion is that Tom's shop takes something of a scientific approach to vehicle repair and will go more in depth with an analyses than another shop I had been to for an issue with my '99 Tahoe. As an EV owner himself I gather that Tom is up on the current tech, perhaps more than some other places who would have men of my age (68) from the "dinosaur era" of automotive tech working at their shops.

There was a problem with the communication surrounding the tow transfer so I started my experience with Hands on Auto Tech with some trepidation. Tom handled the situation and we moved onto the real problem with my truck. The diagnosis was the clutch so I approved the repair and waited a few days for the parts to arrive and the repair to proceed. After the clutch was replaced another problem with the operation of the clutch was discovered so I agreed to the additional repair and another day for repair. After a week I was reunited with my truck. The repair was costly, lengthy and unexpected but coming out the other side of this experience I learned a couple of lessons. 1. If you have your vehicle towed to a shop follow the tow truck to the shop and verify the transfer. 2. Communication and follow up throughout the repair are key Tom was great to deal with and I feel that he was honest with me about the repairs needed and the cost of those repairs. Having recently moved to the area I feel my vehicle maintenance and repair needs can be checked off the list. I can recommend Hands on Auto Tech to anyone needing an honest repair facility and Tom as a good guy to deal with.

First, let me say that it is impossible to actually talk to someone on the phone. You call and it tells you to text a number. We started with that and got a response asking us to bring it in that day. I rearranged my schedule to drive it up, encouraged by their initial quick response. When I arrived, there was no record of them actually knowing that I was coming, despite the text exchange. However, they had Brandon come out to look at my camper. He inspected it and showed me some details - so far it was going well. He said he would have an estimate later that afternoon ("in a few hours"). That was a month ago. They now ignore any texts that we have sent asking for an update. Absolutely no communication from Brandon or anyone else there. It is impossible to actually get someone on the phone.
