I ordered new tires through Tire Rack and had them delivered to this store on York Road here in Baltimore. Scheduled an appointment time. Expected to be a little over an hour. They did not have anyone on staff scheduled to work on my car at that time. I ordered and uber and went home as I could not wait all day. Later on I got a call saying my car would not be available until the next day. I had to order another uber car to go pick it up the next day. Not scheduling or keeping enough folks on staff is not a customer problem, it is bad planning on the company's part. I have used Firestone in the past in Florida and Virginia, but will never go back to one of their locations again after this. I also see from the Yelp reviews that this is a reoccurring issue for this store location. I was also never given a quote by anyone for the work to be done. I expected this to run $150.00 but was charged over $250.00. Very disappointed, glad to not have to go there again. read more

I made an appointment for 3:00 to get an oil change and was told it would be done by 5:00 when I arrives. Already a long time but when I made an appointment but alright. At 4:50 my car had not been driven into the garage yet. When I pointed this out to the staff they got the car in the garage within the next ten minutes and have the oil change done at 5:40, almost three hours after the appointment time. On top of that, they scraped the inside of my car during their inspection and did not screw the caps back on my tires after filling them up. read more

I've been taking my Honda and Volvo to Firestone Complete AutoCare on York Road for about five years, and the experience has consistently gone downhill. The customer service has always felt disorganized and unfriendly, but I kept going because it was convenient. One major issue came up a few years ago when they changed the oil in my Volvo. Since then, I've had to add oil every two months due to what seems like a leak or burning issue, and they never acknowledged it when I brought it back to them. The final straw came recently when I had an electrical problem with my Volvo. I even found a YouTube video showing exactly how to fix it and gave it to them. Despite this, they kept delaying my appointment after I've brought it in, saying they couldn't work on it until the next day, and then on the final day after I called and they said they could work on it I went in and they told me they couldn't fix it because it was a Volvo--even though they've worked on this car several times before. I had a 10 am appointment yesterday for an engine diagnostic. Upon finding out what was wrong, I gave the okay for repairs. Was told it would probably be done by 2 pm. So I took a Lyft home around 10:45 or so. It is 6:15 am the next day and I still do not have my car. I was not given a courtesy call informing me the repairs would be longer than expected nor was I informed my car would need to stay overnight. I'm only at Firestone due to experiencing an emergency last December. A gentleman named Dave helped at that time. He was exceptional and provided excellent customer service. I'm beyond upset. I should've taken my car to the dealer (Nissan). At least I would've received a loaner vehicle until my car was ready. This incident is an example of a complete breakdown in customer service. I delivered my car to them at 1:00 pm on one day, to get a headlight bulb replaced. It was not ready an hour after the shop opened the next morning! I realized the problem: I saw they had a shop bay filled-up with cars, and was told they only had "one" -- count 'em 1 -- technician working! The place is poorly run. First, we made a reservation online at a time they listed online as being available. Since I had a donut on the car, I called to confirm before I left and was told that the reservation was never made and that they had no time for me that day. It was only hours after the appointment that they sent me an email rescheduling for a week later. Then, I got an 11:00 appointment for the next day. I asked how long it should take and was told about 90 minutes. The car had not even been taken in by 12:30 when I had to get picked up for an appointment. The car was not ready until well after 4:00. They not only refused to work on my car (I have no idea why), they were rude, and tried to blame the problem (power steering issue) on a car accident that I was in almost a decade ago, when their company has worked on the car at least 6 times since then! The manager Dave is awful, he even forged my name on the invoice, and I have since contacted the Baltimore County Police Department, who is investigating it, and he avoids them both by phone and in person. There is a girl who answers the phone as well and lies/covers for him, making up information--she even lied to the police officer! The quality of services are not great at all, the worker liar all the time because the parts or tool have not come in as scheduled. But they will string you along without calling or texting the customer. The service required is poor because they didn't accommodate or give me an alternative solution at all. They will try to get you to make repairs on things that don't need to be repaired. I sat for 4 hours to be told they didn't have the right parts to make repairs. I came in needing a diagnosis for a tire pressure sensor as it was acting strangely. I got 2 new tires from another Firestone. All of a sudden they say I have to replace the other one too. I kept asking questions, why does one Firestone location (checked a month ago with new tires) say my sensor is fine but now you say otherwise, they just shrugged and looked at me with no response, try to get me to make an appointment to replace the other one and come back in to pay more when there were no issues with it. I had a family member who is a mechanic look at it and said the sensor was totally fine and working correctly. Otherwise the men there cuss, don't greet you when you come in and everything moves at a snail pace. I stood there while they chatted with each other and they didn't acknowledge me. Do not recommend. Visited the shop for a courtesy AC Coolant Pressure Check. The manager was very helpful in making sure that the car was taken in quickly. I didn't have a ride to my area, so he was nice enough to give me a ride to my home. The manager gave me a round about price as to how much the work would be. Worst Service Ever. Do not go here. Came for new tires and oil change. Appointment was at 2pm and I was told to be back at 5 to pick up. They call me at 6 to ask if I know how to get the tire off my car??!?!? They call back a few more times and eventually "figure it out." Finally they call at 7:30 to say car is ready. I go pick it up and drive home. As I'm driving all the lights on dash starts coming on and car starts making a weird noise. I get home and my husband checks the oil and it is bone dry. They didn't put any oil in! Additionally new tires were all dirty and greasy and car interior had not been vacuumed nor had a new oil change sticker been applied. The sign inside clearly states "we get it right or it's free." They wouldn't refund me for the tires tho. Did they ever put the oil change sticker on windshield or vacuum inside of car, nope. They didn't even put the spare and tools back in in storage compartment, just tossed it all in the trunk. Will never go there again. read more

I was a loyal customer of this Firestone location for twenty years. No longer. This past two years they have consistently made promises and broken them. "Your car will be ready before noon tomorrow." I call at 1pm the next day. "Your car will go into the next available bay, one hour at most." I show up at 4pm. "There are two cars ahead of you." I took my keys and went to Goodyear where they fixed my flat in 30 mins. The Goodyear is five minutes further away but that's where I'm going from now on. read more

After having my car towed to this location when I experienced a blown out tire recently, I was informed by Firestone that they did not want to take my tire replacement warranty insurance - despite the fact that I had been told multiple times by my insurance/warranty company that they have a relationship with Firestone and I would not have any out of pocket expenses. After wrangling with them over a couple of hours - and many more calls to my carrier - they finally agreed to work directly with the insurance. THEN, as I was hurried out the door (they were closing early that day) I noticed that my alignment was WAY off - to the point of barely being able to drive the car. Unbelievable. I personally feel they should have included an alignment as badly as my tire was damaged, but at the VERY LEAST they should have advised me that the alignment needed work. They're running a $24.99 oil change coupon. Had to download their mobile app to use it. So I ordered the service through the app, dropped the car off. They don't give you a receipt or copy of what you ordered when you drop the keys off. An hour later I get an email saying I ordered synthetic oil for $70. I call them, and they explain that they already did the synthetic oil change because it's required for my vehicle. I google my vehicle, it's not required... only recommended in certain driving conditions. They also want to diagnose my engine... for $99. Took car in for oil change and to check tire pressure. I waited 1 1/2 for service. receipt indicated oil changed but not tire pressure. Service completed in 20 minutes as shown on receipt. According to grant 2 hr wait. And, it was suspicious due to grant indicating the service no charge. He was very unprofessional using profanity in front of customers. Very unprofessional. No respect for customers. A man came in he told the man just take the tire. Man took one of the display tires. I usually take my car to jiffy lube on Joppa but they don't have air pressure service any longer. I took my car back to jiffy lube here the oil was never changed at Firestone. Now, what if I drove car another 3-5 thousand miles then it would possibly have affected engine no oil. I will not return to work this location. I'll continue tosupport jiffy lube. read more

My car was having problems with air pressure so we brought it to this Firestone location. Firstly, they didn't even look at it for two days. Which, fine, they could be busy, you never know. I went to pick up my car everything was fine. The battery was dead. They had left the lights on in my car (which is hard to do because they ding when you turn off the car until you turn off the lights). I go inside and they tell me, we'll you can get it replaced, it was low anyway. It was not low. It was not full but it was not low. They then take about 45 minutes to change my battery and charge me $240 for. This would have been one frustrating experience if they hadn't actually lost my dads car earlier this month. Like they actually called him, said: sir, your Toyota Camry (whatever kind of car they said) is ready to be picked up. To which he responded: I don't own a Toyota?? Idk I just think with the combination of all these reviews and my own experience they are either trying to scam everyone they can or are just so completely inept at their jobs. I can't comment on their service because I opted to get a second quote before agreeing to pay them the egregious amount they quoted me. They wanted $107 to change ONE headlight. They said the one bulb would cost $45 and it'd be around $55 for 30 minutes of labor. ......I got a pack of two bulbs for $11 from Walmart and a co-worker was able to easily change out the bulb in UNDER 5 minutes. I seem to have paid for repairs that never happened (?), based on the fact that they are still needed 6 months later, according to an independent and 5-star rated mechanic who is now working on my car. He also found lots of things wrong with it that Firestone did not mention. I have used Firestone for about 3 years (until now) because I signed up for their lifetime tire-rotation plan. It became convenient to do everything with Firestone. I am not someone who knows cars, so I didn't know better, and it seemed like a fine shop. As people, I like the staff. Friendly and respectful. I don't trust them anymore, service-wise, and plan to ask for a refund on the repairs that apparently need re-repairing not long after. read more

Poor scheduling. I dropped off my car at 11am for a tire patch and an oil change and was told they'd have it done by 4:30. They assured me I'd be out by 4:30 so I could pick up my kid from school. 4:30 came and went. At 5:30 they came out to tell me the car was done but the tire was un-patchable because of treadwear. Liars! I'm new to town and came in for a Maryland state inspection so that I could get MD plates. They made recommendations (replace a fog light and license plate light) and quoted me a ridiculous price for the repairs. I took the car to Honda where they replaced the lights for 70% less than what Firestone quoted . Once the repairs were performed I returned to Firestone to produce proof that the repairs were complete. I had an appointment and when I made the appointment I was told they just needed to see the receipts of the repairs and then they would give me certificate to bring to the DMV. I came in for my 8 o'clock appointment at 7:50 and was told that the repair man would be one hour late. I went home and then received a phone call 10 minutes later that he had arrived and to come back. Then I was told they needed to inspect the car and make sure that the repairs were done. After that fiasco I waited one hour and 25 minutes for the inspection to be done though I had an appointment and was told that this would be fast. Well yeah like everybody else's says, this place sucks in my opinion. bought tires here I year ago because I had no choice. came back here later to get them rotated for free and an oil change. they said they be able to do it an hour and that includes the way to put it up on the lift. I watch them put it on the lift in 10 minutes and then it sat there while he worked on other cars it took two hours to change the oil and rotate the tires. makes me wonder if the speed is an effort to make it so I don't come back again to rotate the tires for free. if you have any other option and I mean any do not come here. They are shady. A few (of many) examples: 1) They wrote me up a hefty quote to replace my catalytic converter without ever mentioning the EPA-mandated warranty which covers them. Even worse, I took my car elsewhere and this was not even the actual issue. I still had to pay firestone $100 just for looking at my car and giving a false diagnosis. The manager said he would look into this but I never heard back from him. (Why would I, when they could just keep my money?) 2) They replaced my mom's tires but did not properly fill them with air. We found this out right before leaving for a trip, and had to go back and spend an extra hour just waiting for them to fix the tire pressure. 3) last month, I bought four new tires and warranties. I tried asking precisely how the warranty works, but clearly they do not like to give full details. This week, I had two nails in my tire and still had to pay $75 because the tire was prorated and labor is not covered. Why was this not explained to me beforehand? I would have still purchased the warranty! But the guy made it seem like new tires would be completely covered. TDLR: They are shady and only care about making a quick buck. Keeping long term customers is not important to them. There are honest mechanics out there who deserve your business more than these guys. They had me for life. I HATE to get my car worked on, HATE going to the mechanic, because I always feel like I'm going to get ripped off or have to wait a long time, or whatever. But, I needed an oil change and I took my car to Firestone on a rainy Sunday afternoon, and it took them like 20 minutes, and it was pretty inexpensive. There is a nice, clean, waiting room, plenty of magazines, tv, etc. So I went back another couple of times and, truly, would have gone there, happily, for the rest of my life. But then the upsell started. They recommended a brake replacement for my 2003 Ford Taurus, so I had them do that and paid $600. My husband said, "that's really a lot." Agreed, but hey, they're a chain, it's prime real estate, I'm feeling a little ripped off but I'm willing to go with it because it's so convenient, etc., but now there's that seed of doubt planted. The next time I went in, they told me I needed 4 new tires, these were completely dry-rotted. I left, took it to my husband's mechanic down the street (no waiting room, you have to drop it off and leave it, all the things I hate--but he's HONEST) for a tire rotation. I guess I should have read some reviews before coming here. Brought a tire in for a screw. Screw was right on the edge of the tire so it couldn't be patched, that is understandable and pretty standard. Discussed a couple of replacement tire options and was quoted $160 installed for the tire I selected. Come to pick up the car and I am being charged $178. Not really what I had budgeted but now the work is done so what are my options? On top of that when I went to pick up my car I found that it was unlocked in the parking lot (in a busy shopping center). This wasn't a courtesy unlocking because I was here to pick up; I checked the car before going inside to start the pickup. Anything could have been taken by any passerby. Unacceptable. read more

The back tire of our car was leaking and we had just gotten new back tires from Firestone, so we went back since the tires were under warranty. Asked them to patch the tire and four hours later we were informed that it was actually a problem with the rim. No worries, we set up an appointment to drop off the car (we were going out of town for over a week) so that when the rim came in they could do the work and we could pick the car up on the way home from the airport. Over a week later (my husband dropped it off Monday 11/19, we went to pick it up 11/28), we pull up to Firestone and see our car parked in the same place with our spare tire still on. No work had been done on the car, it had been sitting in the parking lot for over a week and no attempt to contact us had been made. We took our car back and are getting the service done elsewhere. If something had come up, I totally get that - call me and let me know so that I don't show up after traveling all day to a car that still isn't safe to drive. read more
