Got online through the fire stone app and scheduled an alignment appointment at 5 PM. I even got a reservation number with a confirmation code stating that my appointment had been excepted. I walk into the fire stone office at 4:40 PM Friday afternoon and they told me they could not get me in until Tuesday even though I had a confirmation number. They said they don't have to accept appointments if they don't choose to. The manager even stood there and smirked and said, that's just the way it is! This is poor service on fire stone and I was going to purchase a lifetime warranty alignment, which cost over $200 with this place. Now I'm going to take my business elsewhere. Think twice before scheduling an appointment with these people. My next step is to go to the BBB. read more

This location @ 5137 S. Coulter //Amarillo Texas -- does close at 7pm and we noticed our truck tire was low with a nail in the left front tire around 6pm, so we rushed to this location so they could patch the tire as we had to have the truck for work the next day to go to work at 6am!!! We did arrive about 6:15pm and they were no help at all -- said they were too busy to get to it and had more work than they could do. No help or concern to even TRY to assist for a nail patch in the tire. Lazy staff member who turned us down! This was disappointing as they could care less to even try to look at our vehicle and tire. So, they lost us as ever being a customer and will go where our business is appreciated. This location told me I needed new front and back brakes. My front brakes were done at another Firestone less than 2000 miles ago. I was also told I needed 4 new tires when my back set of ties has less than 10000 miles on them and the front ones have less than 5000 miles in them and were bought at another Firestone location. I was also told of numerous other things that needed fixing that did not. I had my front brakes done less than a month ago at a Firestone for 340 bucks and now a month later this Firestone wanted to charge me 580 for back brakes. I told them do an oil change and alignment and leave brakes alone. When I got in car and drive off there was a knocking sound in rear. I took it back and they said a rear tire was lose. Saturday morning I took my Jeep in after hearing what sounded suspiciously like i a grinding rotor. A few hours and several hundred dollars later, i left with new rotors in the back and brake pads all around. Couple errands here and there, Sunday evening I turn off my street and hear something. Get to the stopsign and feel something is wrong. Definite grinding metal noise as i turn around and head back to the house. Nothing obvious from the side, but when i stick my head under the vehicle, it is glaringly obvious the bolts that should have held the brakes together are missing. It was around 7 pm Sunday, so I called first thing 7 am Monday morning. Explained the situation, and they called a towing company to bring it in. I get a call around 1pm that its done, but i waited until I could get a ride around 6 and went up to get it. Took a look before i went in--grooves worn into the wheel, there are bolts now, but damaged parts are still there. Paperwork just said the bolts were missing; bolts were replaced. Well the damaged parts are still damaged...they were cutting something off it earlier. Did they even check the bolts on the other brakes? Cant answer that. The bolts were missing. Now they are not. Had i not decided to drive down the street Sunday night, i would have jumped right on the highway for work Monday morning. If the brake had fallen apart when i tried to stop or slow at 75 vs 25 mph, i would have a very different story to tell. As it is, going to take more time off work to have another shop check it out tomorrow before i do end up in a much scarier situation. I have paid a lot of money at this place repeatedly to get the same check engine light come back the same day, but to have such a flagrant disregard for basic safety is inexcusable. And to not at least take responsibility for what was obviously their mistake to repair the damage is absurd. read more

I have serviced my truck at Firestone on Coulter for 2 years. I was told I needed brakes and rotors on the front of my truck and the rear were ok. Needless to say they put the wrong parts on the front of my truck and the brakes and rotors were shot 2 months later. They fixed this problem under warranty however said my rear rotors and brakes were shot and needed replacing. How my rear rotors and brakes went from good to shot in 2 months after they put the wrong parts on my truck that tore it up seems like their doing. They wouldn't take responsibility for the rear brakes and rotors. I've spent over $4,000 in 2 years servicing my truck but making me replace the rear brakes and rotors " $690.00 " I will no longer be using Firestone for service. Unhappy read more

Priced 6 tires for my dually.Tech priced the tires at $217/tire and said total would be approximately $1850 for mount and balance. I did the math. That total came up to well over $300/tire. I was dumbfounded. After I asked for a price breakdown, I was informed that there was a $36 per tire disposal fee for my old tires. I told him that I was keeping my old tires. They are nearly new themselves. He said he still had to charge the disposal fee even though I was keeping my tires. I was like what? There was also a $17 per tire rubber valve stem charge(I believe). Ridiculous! I can order the tires online without the disposal fee. How come they can't? He said the store gets charged the disposal fee when they buy the tires. I call b/s. You can't charge for services not rendered(illegal). Pretty shady. I won't be back. I like Firestone tires but not enough to deal with shady practices. Biggest waste of time and unprofessionalism. They called me at 12:56 pm to give me an update on the status of my truck and to upsell me on other things. I advised them to go ahead with the issue I brought it in for and not do the other up sell stuff. I come back to the store an hour a half later and they didn't do the work that I had originally requested. They had the opportunity to decline to do the work when they called me but they didn't. They let me believe that they were going to do it. I sat and patiently waited down the street. I go back to Firestone an hour and a half later and they tell me my truck is done. They don't tell me that they didn't do any of the work. They only told be after I inquired further. If they want to decline to do the work I totally understand. But don't waste my time like that. Today, I contacted this Firestone at 5137 S. Coulter in Amarillo, Texas to ask for a battery installation. My Volkswagen Touareg was unable to start and required to be jumped via roadside---however still did not have enough power to drive, and required towing. Therefore, I called this location and was told they would install the battery that I could purchase from Autozone and would charge me $50 for the installation. I purchased the battery at $200+ HOWEVER, when the tow driver arrived, he was cursed at! Told to get the car out of there! My husband was told they would not install the battery and they had NO apparent sorrow for the way they treated the tow driver and the lie they told me. The tow driver was going to just leave with our car in tow due to the treatment he received. Terrible! I have been a customer of Firestone in Colorado Springs for 4 years prior to moving to Texas 2 months ago and I have NEVER experienced such treatment. Had my brakes replaced at the Coulter St. Firestone in late 2016 on my G35. In the past month I began hearing a clank sound from the rear when I pressed on the brakes so I jacked up the car to investigate. Turns out they installed the brake pads incorrectly. 2 of the pads are intended to be installed on the inside of the brake caliper, towards the piston, and the other 2 go on the outside. On one side though they had them reversed. As a result, the outside brake caliper body was resting on 4 metal rivets that protrude from the brake pad (one of these rivets is where the wear indicator is attached, but that pad was on the other side which was installed correctly). What was causing the noise? Over the past year or so pressure from the caliper compressed one of the rivets allowing the pad to rock back and forth when pressing on the brakes. Imagine an unlevel table in a restaurant. Now, this wasn't the end of the world. Mistakes happen. I put everything back together and called Firestone explaining the issue and believing they'd make it right. When I showed up for my appointment they said it was installed correctly. I was baffled. Surely they see the exact issue I saw. With my car still on the lift, I showed them the issue. I pointed to the rivets that weren't supposed to be on the outside brake pad. I pointed to the caliper resting on the metal rivets instead of the pad. The rep argues with me and says it's installed correctly. Out of the goodness of his heart, he'll go ahead and warranty them out but I'll have to pay for labor. Also, the rotors can't be turned so he'll have to replace them as well. Total? $257. I'm in complete disbelief. I told him to put everything back together and I'd take the car. I immediately drove next door to Oreilly's, bought 2 new rotors and brake pads for $140 out the door, went home and had them installed in an hour. Not satisfied with the way I was treated, I then returned to Firestone with the old pads which very clearly showed the truth. The inside brake pad should have had a circle in the middle where the brake piston had made contact with it. It did not. The outside brake pad should have had marks on each end where the caliper body made contact but instead it had the circle from the brake piston. The evidence could not possibly have been more clear. The rep said "how do I know you didn't swap them." Well, fair point I suppose, EXCEPT you can't erase the circular mark left on the pad from the brake piston. So the lack of that mark proves the pad was NEVER installed in the correct position. Unbelievable. By the end of the conversation the rep agreed to pay for the pads I purchased next door but I declined. By then it felt incredibly patronizing. He was acting as if they didn't do anything wrong but were trying to appease a difficult customer. Compensating me for parts I had to replace due to faulty workmanship would have been the fair offer from the beginning, but after a half hour of listening to him tell me they did nothing wrong, it wasn't about the money. All I wanted was an acknowledgement they did the work incorrectly and perhaps an apology. In my opinion, the rep was either a liar, completely incompetent, or more focused on shielding them from liability than owning up to the mistake and providing good customer service to resolve the issue. We came in and they were able to start working on our car within 15 minutes. Larry was super helpful and our experience was great with them. Lied about thickness of brake rotors when I asked them to machine on my rear axle, said they've been "aligning" my wheels on 6k mile intervals and yet I've got wear rings on my tires after 25k miles, and I recently discovered I was missing a lug nut about 1,200 miles after they did a balance and rotation. Not sure if they're liars or incompetent but they've lost my business for a lifetime. Go elsewhere. read more

So apparently when they tell you there might be a bit of a wait it means over an hour before they even get your car pulled in to look at it. When I expressed my desire for the customer service people to give a more exact wait time in future the person I was talking to acted as if he could care less about my concerns. Sure wish there was a "no star" option. I dropped off my car at 10am on a Sunday and it wasn't even ready at 2pm. I sat and watched a worker put one tire on an then disappear for 10 minutes. Christian Brothers Automotive down the street inspected the rack & pinion specifically and said there was no problem with it. This is the second time Firestone has done something similar. I have used this shop for many years and have referred others to this shop. Parts cost was more than double what you could buy yourself at the parts store right across the parking lot. They also failed to rotate my tires, the main reason I went in. I wrote a letter to Derek the manager and he promptly called me back. He said regional office set the price for parts and apologized for failing to rotate my tires. He stated several times he would what he could to keep my business, but he offered not solutions. My Girlfriend took her Dodge pickup in for a front end alignment. They did the alignment and said that it needed a new track arm. We took it to the Dodge house and the mechanic there said there was nothing wrong with it. They wanted to charge her $1,700 to change the track arm when there was nothing wrong with it. I think they found something that was easy to replace so they can charge extra money. If you're a woman I would take a man with you to throw the bullshit card. read more

Usually firestone has been my go to for tires and misc. needs. I took my car in today at 445 pm(after work) to get a slow leak on my tire repaired. I thought since I was due a oil change I would take care of both at the same time. Normally an oil change runs $69. They were $88 on the quote. I thought I'll pay the difference to get both completed. Then they told me it is $19.99 for a tire to be fixed. I have bought probably 4 or 5 sets (4 tires each) in the last year for all our vehicles...I felt that was high but I go ahead and agree with this also. So I leave and at 620 they call and they cannot find the wheel lock in my car. I said it is in the car. I think the glove box. They couldn't find it so I didn't get tire repaired, get there at 655 and car is not ready and I paid $92 for a oil change Needless to say. They won't keep my businesss if this keeps up.
