I've been going here for years and they always provide quality service. Recently failed emissions and was told I would need a new catalytic converter (which I cannot afford & don't plan on keeping car that much longer) they said let's see what we can do to get you to pass the test. A few hundred dollars later (as opposed to thousands) I passed! Anyone who asks, I always refer them to Pieza's!

Looks can defintely be decieving! A friend referred me here and said that John was an honest man…read morewhen it comes to car fixes. Of course I've heard that many times before in regards to other shops. But I digress. I had my moms and my childs cars to bring in as they didn't pass the emissions test (BOTH). So my moms car dealership wanted $3,000 just for hers! Ummmm no I don't think so. So like I said, a friend referred me here so I came. First off, John was extremely friendly and he was so accommodating. I can appreciate someone who loves their craft. Second, my child literally had her car finished and already taken to the emissions testing site for us. Passed with flying colors and completed within 24 hours! I didn't think he would have it that quick! Moms car was completed the next day with and did well on the emissions testing too, that they took upon themselves to take in also. This is a sign of a great mechanic! For both cars we paid way less then expected and they run perfectly. I don't usually endorse mechanics, but for sure I will today! The mechanic who worked on the cars was amazing and John seriously takes care of his customers and I can say HE IS HONEST! This makes me for sure want to come back! I highly recommend this shop!

Car-X fixed my door latch to connect to the sensor and didn't charge me! I should mention that I had taken my car to a different place on Pulaski, they replaced several parts which I did not need and charged me over $700 without fixing the problem. Experience matters!

I'm leaving this review not because of the mechanical service, but because of the abysmal customer…read moreservice and professionalism I experienced at the Car-X at 5418 S. Pulaski. On September 10th at approximately 4:40 pm, the employee working behind the counter (male, approx. 5'0 - 5'3" in height) was extremely rude, dismissive, condescending, and completely unprofessional. I came in as a paying customer with legitimate questions about my vehicle and was treated like I was an inconvenience for having the audacity to ask him. This wasn't simply someone having a bad day. This appeared to be a bad attitude on a full-time basis. What really stood out was that the other employees apologized to me for his behavior. They were courteous, professional, helpful, and knowledgeable. One employee ultimately stepped in, answered my questions, and made sure I was safely back on the road. That employee deserves recognition for providing the customer service that should have been there from the beginning. Unfortunately, the interaction was bad enough that I would have zero confidence allowing this particular employee to work on my vehicle. When a customer's concern shifts from "Can you fix my car?" to "Do I even trust this person with my car?"--management has a problem. Car-X management: please investigate this employee's conduct and speak with the coworkers who witnessed the interaction. Their reactions suggested this may not have been an isolated incident. I'm not looking for a generic "We're sorry you had this experience" response. I'm asking management to address the behavior. Your good employees are doing their part. Now make sure everyone representing your brand understands that customers deserve basic courtesy and respect. To the gentleman behind the counter: customers aren't interruptions, annoyances, or inconveniences. They're the reason you're behind that counter in the first place. If helping customers is that irritating, perhaps customer service isn't the right assignment.
