The installers complain about not getting paid enough, management is decent, work place culture is a 1/10 not the best place to learn anything honestly, the hardest part of the job isn't anything. I stuck around longer then I needed to because the installer I was with (whom I was placed with more) I really wanted to learn regardless of what he said about me, talked about me, gave me faces, punched around materials, the owners says he pays for materials and everything but he doesn't. The installers pay for all the material they need besides the pipe and that's it. Honestly,

I also wanted to have our chimney swept, and knew summer would be the ideal time to get quick service. After searching Google Maps to weed out fly-by-night companies, I found Mr. Smokestack--with an incredible 1,228 five-star reviews. Now I understand why. From the moment I called, the experience was seamless. CJ came out within a day or two, professionally assessed our situation, and gave us a quote for the chimney sweep. He also offered a ballpark idea of the gas line issue, noting that a technician would need to remove the logs to fully diagnose it. Once we realized our gas logs were over 20 years old, we decided to replace them--and CJ guided us through the process with ease. Within two days, we had selected a new fireplace insert, which was ordered and installed just weeks later. I opted to have the chimney swept and capped before the insert installation. Rodrigo, the lead technician, was outstanding--truly one of Mr. Smokestack's greatest assets. Logan assisted during one visit, and Dani during another. Rodrigo explained every step of the process, making me feel confident and cared for. He patiently walked us through the remote control features and helped us choose the best settings for daily use.I am 100% satisfied with both the installation and the product. Mr. Smokestack exceeded every expectation, and I now fully understand how they've earned such a stellar reputation. I cannot recommend them more highly!

He did not ask me to update or change my review but was sincere in his apology and desire to do better. For that, they live up to the reputation they are known for, which is one of excellence. Here is my original review: I waited a bit before writing this review because I know a bad review can really hurt a company. After years of hearing Chimneys Plus recommended for everything from Chimney cleaning to gutters, I contacted them for a gutter quote. I wasn't going to be home when they arrived but was told they would be fine with my barking dogs so set up a date and morning time. When I got home 3 hours later, they had recently arrived so had been running late. Not a big deal but something to note if one was planning to take off work or had other plans. I'm not sure who the gentleman was who spoke with me but he was very knowledgeable and VERY persuasive. In other words, a good salesman. I was in a rush as I had many things to do but he didn't seem to take my cues to shorten his spiel. Still, I let myself be convinced I was going to ignore the quote of the company that did my roof which was significantly less than the verbal quote I was given on site. I requested to be sent alternatives in costing. For example, what would it cost if I just did the gutters without the gutter guards (and told the reasons this would be a TERRIBLE idea). I asked to include what if I did gutter guards in the back but not the front as one of the options. Or what if I started with just the back of the house (that verbal quote was the entire amount of the other companies full house quote -- but to the credit of Chimney plus, it did include guards whereas the other companies entire house quote of the same amount did not.) I expected to see an email quote either later that evening or the next day. Instead, the VERY NEXT DAY I was sent an email asking to please write a Google Review. Whaat?? I haven't even gotten the work done or received my quote!? I was told they are very busy and it would be a wait for the actual installation -- which again, I was willing to do. However, it has now been over a week and I never got a quote. At this point, I've gone with the other company and will use gutter guards from costco. You guys could have had my business -- and I'm sure would have done a good job. But no follow up after over a week isn't good practice.
