Marlboro is halfway between my best friend and I, so we (us two and our significant others) meet up to watch Devils games here. We've had great experiences and bad experiences. Bullet points: - great atmosphere, tons of TVs. - food is absolutely delicious. - bartenders take a bit. You'll need patience. - but they look miserable every time we've been. This is at least the 5th time we've been here to watch a game. They were pretty busy when we sat down, so we tried to be patient. The girls got their drinks fairly quickly, but then the glasses sat there empty for a good 15 minutes before our group was paid any attention to again. The guys still had no drinks. It took about 45 minutes to be able to put a food order in as well. It's not always that bad, though. After we got our food the rest of the night was ok. The restaurant had also slowed down a bit. The southwest egg rolls were a little dry. The French onion soup was good. The Birria tacos with the pickled red onion was fantastic. My friends said the wings were perfect and the burgers were juicy. I asked for a ramekin to take home the consommé with the birria taco I hadn't finished, and the bartender so kindly went to the kitchen and got me a fresh one. Above and beyond! Four of us in Devils gear watched the game on a tv all the way on the other side of the restaurant. Granted, we didn't ask for a tv to be changed either. We felt like we couldn't. Everyone behind the bar looks completely miserable every time we're here, like one request could push them to quit on the spot. Blink twice if you need rescuing... I don't mean to be harsh but paying for "nachos" $20 when you buy chips from Walmart or any grocery store piled with little chicken and what got me the most was all the other condiments (guac, salsa etc..) in plastic to go little cups which made it look even cheaper. Went for an end of year get together. We were about 17 people. The food was served very well and we had 4 appetizers, which was more than enough for everyone. We had nachos, chicken wings, southwest eggrolls and edamame. For the main meal, many had the salmon cooked on a wooden planks and was served with rice and a vegetable. The burgers came out the way everyone ordered and I had the shrimp wrap with an avocado, and a side salad which I enjoyed. The waitress knew exactly who ordered what. The staff was very accommodating. The inside has 2 large bars and sections that are divided. We were seated in the bar section that was more like a sports bar. Went here for happy hour, great deals, good quality food too. Our server Gene was great, very nice & attentive, food did not take long at all. Ambience very cozy and nice as well. Have been going here for years since we live locally. Good beer selection and decent happy hour. Went last night. Tried the pear and goat cheese pizza for the first time and it was good. Mild Buffalo boneless wings were a bit of a disappointment since they really just tasted like butter. Will order the hot ones in the future. One thing to watch out for when the bill comes. A 2.95% surcharge is part of the bill even before you offer payment. I realize that many restaurants add these surcharges so that's not a deal breaker since we pay with cash. However, most restaurants either show the different totals (cash or charge) when the bill is presented or wait until they process the card to add the surcharge. We inquired as to why the charge was there since we intended on paying with cash. We also wanted to make sure that the charge would be subtracted from the total and the full amount we left as a tip would go to the server. The manager said that the charge is removed when they cash it in. If that actually happened, we don't know, but it just didn't sit right with us. Next time, we will pay the bill and wait for the change if there is any. Then we will hand the tip to the server to make sure they get the full amount. Fireside is a pretty normal, all around bar and grill. I met with a fairly large group of friends there. The service was very good. Our waiter seemed well trained. He was able to perceive that we would need separate checks and just did it, without arguing with us, as so many other waiters do. I got everything I ordered, and we were not rushed out. The decor is really nice and upscale for a bar and grill. It was a little hard turning left from the road with the oncoming traffic. The parking lot was relatively full. The cheeseburger I ordered was good, but it was nothing special. I liked how they offered an optional side salad with it instead of fries. The beers were better than average. I enjoy Peroni, and they had it on tap. They also had a few local ones. They were relatively fresh. We took advantage of the $4 happy hour beers. read more

Average bar and grill. I ordered the street corn for an appetizer - which you would expect to be grilled. It was just boiled with drizzle of seasoning. On top of that, it was $10 for one corn on the cob split in half; extremely overpriced. Got the salmon as an entree which was cooked decently and the vegetables were tasty but there were barely any on the plate. $24 for this dish which I felt could have been justified if there were more veggies on the plate since the salmon was a nice size. Waitress was very nice - nothing negative to say about the service. I liked that there were a ton of TVs in the space - counted 26 in the bar area alone. Could really watch any sport you are looking for. Enjoyed seeing the home run derby while I was there. So we have frequent this place quite a few times , but today was appalling . My husband and I along with my 7 year old decided to have dinner there . We didn't know that they are doing renovations so they sat us in the bar area where it was extremely loud. I get it it's a bar area , it's going to be loud . Our waitress was extremely nice ! She came by and took our order and was very pleasant . We got our apps and we decided maybe to move our table to a quieter one , well the girl that came over to us ( not our waitress) said there wasn't any quiet tables and we just said forget it. The manager , who doesn't give out his name , came over to us and asked what the problem was , exactly like that and we said it's just a bit noisy and we wanted to a quieter spot, his reaction was " well it is a sports bar", with an attitude . So we let it go. Within 5 minutes of getting our apps our food came out . Couldn't even finish the apps. Again the other girl came by and we told her the issue and all she did was apologize . Then our waitress comes over and we start telling her the problem with the food coming out too quick and this " so called manager" came flying over and asked " what's the problem now", my husband was like first off all what it your name and he said " I don't have to tell you my name " he didn't even say who he was except he did say he can the " dishwasher". Pretty rude and obnoxious if you ask me . He came in pretty hot like a tough guy wanna be. The food was disgusting ! And we explained to the waitress we will pay for our apps and drinks but not the entrees. The wanna be tough guy manager comes over and says " here's your check and your paying it". We came literally 1-2 minutes before happy hour ended and we were still served happy hour drinks and food specials. Yay! We ordered wings, one naked and one standard. We received both naked but that was okay. We also got the pretzel appetizers, which came with both cheese and mustard, so it satisfied both of us. My wife had a burger, she said her bun was hard (stale). This place used to be pretty good. Don't know what happened. Won't return. All around amazing food, from the fries to the burgers. I am currently here with my family and the food came out super fast. My first bite was incredible, magic on my tastebuds. The perfectly seasoned rotisserie chicken along with my amazingly-cooked bacon cheeseburger was more than enough for a 5 star review. We are regulars to this place. The food and the great selection of draft beers draws us in every time. if you are looking to catch a game or fight, this is the place to do it. They have great seating inside as well as a three season outdoor seating area. On nights of big games and fights, you can expect the parking plot to be pretty full. Don't let this get you disappointed because they bring in valet for times like this. Our favorite dishes are the wings and the shrimp and avocado wrap. These two are full of flavor. The wings can be messy, of course, so it is a good thing they give you wipes when you are done. There is ample seating at the bar, and plenty of high top tables if you prefer to be intimate. We have been to the Fireside a few times in the past, so on Saturday, at around 8:30 PM my wife and I stopped off a late diner. We were seated by a congenial and polite hostess and waited for a server to come by for a drink or dinner order. Other patrons came in after we did and were served while we waited, no one, including the manager, paid any attention to us. After 10 minutes of being ignored, we went up to the front desk and let the manager know what transpired. He seemed concerned, but did nothing and seemed confused. We left, and decided to check out the new ZinBurger on Route 9 and Union Hill Road. Polite & friendly service plus the food was great at a reasonable price. Fireside is now officially off our list, replaced by ZinBurger. You should try it out. read more

Ate here for outdoor dining recently. They're open on Mondays which is what brought me here. The nachos were delicious and there's a pretty good beer selection. There's a large food selection as well. Service was okay- my table was rarely checked on. The salad had a little too much dressing for my liking so ask for it on the side if you don't like it drenching your meal. I will return to try their other food and beers. read more

But every time we've gone back since the food has been pretty disappointing and the waitstaff doesn't really seem to care about anything. What I liked most this evening was the service. Well the fact they have 47 taps might have helped. We never knew this place existed if not for a gun seminar held here that we signed up for. Fireside has existed here I believe for about 3 or 4 years. Kind of an oasis in an otherwise area bereft of restaurants or much of anything. I'd have to describe it as a rather large modern rustic kind of place. Had it been in Western PA there would be plenty of game animal heads mounted on the walls. We sat at the bar and got immediately served. We had two bartenders; Kristi and Katie. Both were quite friendly and a pleasure to talk to. Not being too hungry I ordered the buffalo wings only. They came with carrots, celery strips, and bleu cheese like most places. The wings were good, not particularly piccante but flavorful nonetheless. The ambiance here is very nice and the large fireplace certainly helps. Although a large selection of taps, I feel they should have more craft choices. Every bar feels the need to have lite, bud, coors, etc. Their clientele demands it. But I feel that there are unnecessary beers here like Stella, Heineken, which are imported versions of those same tasteless lagers. Better use of those taps they could make. Nonetheless I hear the burgers are good and will return to actually have dinner. read more
