Do not hire them. They got sealer all over my foundation that is right next to my driveway and then on the cement leading to the garage. They also used such thinned out sealer that my entire drive has pore like holes all over. I had them come out and look at it and they said nothing they could do about the pores and left even hairline cracks still exposed and unsealed. They sent someone out to powerwash the tar off. Really, powerwash dried tar off??? Needless to say, none came off. They hounded me for payment after i refused to pay my bill and threatened collections. I ended up paying it so my credit doesnt go to shit over 130$ but they deserve this honest review. read more

We didn't have a good experience with Firemen. Customer service representatives are fine but the guy actually doing the work isn't that good at it. He is sloppy and does a rushed job. First time we tried them he was sloppy and splattered asphalt on the concrete sidewalk. This time the driveway looked very streaky. Called them back to fix it and the lady with him noticed it right away but he gets very defensive. I shouldn't have to call you back if you just do your job right. read more

I had this company out last fall to sealcoat my asphalt driveway-simple request. They came out, did the work, and it rained 8 hours later, thus it washed away. I called to advise them of this and they came out a few days later, again just before it rained. I called a third time and they performed the work. It didn't rain immediately thereafter, but still not great work. I advised them of the issues from the first two attempts in terms of asphalt splatter on the bottom two panels of my garage door, siding and onto the sidewalk. Their response was a text that someone would come out once the weather permitted. We're now 7 months later and no one ever came out and no further response. Not much else to say, but this experience finally got me to do what I've wanted to do for years-tear out the asphalt driveway and replace it with concrete! read more

Do not hire these amateurs !!! They were scheduled to seal my driveway on Friday. All day was good weather. They showed up at 5pm - an hour before heavy storms. They didn't check weather- why bother. At 6pm heavy storms washed away sealer. Question. Who comes at 5pm and not checks the weather? They don't care!!!! Low quality service. If they came few hours earlier it would be fine. 5pm???? Do not recommend unless you want to be called a "Felon" and have black grasses and garage door with splatter. We used Firemen Sealcoating few times before because of their quality of work in the past. This time the attention to details have decreased as our grasses are pained black along one side in several spots and with one black foot print on lawn. Our white garage door also covered with tar splatter spots across the bottom panel. The most SHOCKING thing is that this business send invoice to customer addressing to "Felon". First, we offered to pay the 2 guys that came sealcoated the driveway that day and they said they can't accept payment and we should expect to receive an invoice instead. Secondly, they have our proper info as we were past customer and received their post card reminder periodically. read more

Complete crapshow. said they would get Our driveway done while We were out of town.. called on the way home to confirm it was done. 2 gals in the office said it was done.. Get home and not done.. Rescheduled for 5 days later. Was told We would be last appointment 3-5pm.. I call at 10am to confirm and was told eta would be 4pm.. Then they called an hour later said crew was 20 minutes away.. noon!!! This company is a complete joke.. No one in the office has a clue whats going on.. Do not use this outfit.. read more

My mom has been using this company for years. She's always had great experiences so when I bought my first home, and I found out I had a very crumbly driveway, our first thought was to call this company. My mom initially called first just to get some ideas of what they could do and they described to her some kind of process to fix some of the cracks on the first day and then on the second day to seal everything. When I called to actually schedule, the same thing was brought up to me and I agreed to this process. Here we are at the end of day one and no fixing was actually done. I come home to find out that they have only seal coated it. I was surprised so I called them. They tell me there's no note that my driveway needs any fixing and that there is only a note for two seal coats. I told the receptionist that that is not what was discussed. She asked me what kind of repairs would even need to be done and I said well there's all these cracks and the sides are crumbling and she told me there was nothing to be done if the sides are crumbling. I said again that was not what I discussed with the person on the phone. So I asked her if this was normal. I've never had a house before so I said if someone had a driveway that seemed to be sinking in spots and has big cracks, would they normally only suggest 2 coats. She said yes. I then tried to find out if that's what I paid for or did I pay more money for something else. It didn't seem like we were communicating well. She kept going back to the fact that there was no notes that said my driveway needed repairing and I have nothing to say to that because I'm not looking at their system so I have no idea what someone had written down or not written down. This is my first house. I've never had a driveway before to even have fixed. If the company had originally told me I just needed two seal coats I probably would've believed them because I don't know any better. Why would I make up this whole fixing scenario if that's not the typical course of action you would recommend to someone? And it wasn't like it was only me who had called and heard this. My mom had called a different time and heard the same spiel. If it hadn't been put into my mind by your company, why would I even think that? It seemed like we were coming to no resolution so I told her thank you for your time but that is absolutely not what I was told. And I hung up. I called my mom to let her know and she was also shocked and disappointed. In fact, she is getting her driveway done tomorrow as well. She said they rescheduled on her and she had to call them to find that out. They didn't call her about rescheduling! And then they didn't call her to confirm they were coming either which is something they have done in previous years. So I don't know if there's new management or something but I don't think they're going to get my business again. I did give two stars just because the coating itself does look nice, but the customer service and what was promised versus what was delivered is off. read more

I have used Fireman Sealcoating for 3 consecutive years 2011-2013. I have tried several other companies in my area and Fireman Sealcoating is the best I've seen yet. The don't "cut" or "thin" they use a heavy oil/tar coating and use great sealant to fill in cracks. The cost is more then most but you know the saying, "You get what you pay for." As for calling to set an appointment and response back, yes they are slow to respond, and I hope they work to correct this for the 2014 season and beyond. read more

I hired Firemen in the summer of 2000 based on their having done a lot of work in my neighborhood. Their estimate was fair and they arrived on the day they said they would. However, during application of the sealant, they overflowed the driveway onto my sidewalk and flagstones so much that I spent over an hour after they left frantically trying to clean that mess up so that it wouldn't cure in those locations. They also spilled a ton of sealant in the street, and rather than making a legitimate effort to clean it up, poured bottled water on it such that there is still a massive "octopus" on the street beyond my driveway. Perhaps the most frustrating thing, however, beyond these quality issues, was finding that the coating is worn through all over my driveway -- and with the pandemic, there has been extremely little tire traffic on the driveway, nor are the worn spots in tire-track areas. I can't help but wonder if they used a sub-standard sealant mixture. I am hiring another company to reseal it this summer, and can't envision using Firemen again. read more

I tried to prep the surface the best I could with our power washer the day before. It looks good, however I realized after the fact that I should've sealed the cracks before having the driveway sealed. Now I know for the future. I have seen the results of this company. They seem to do a good job. The day after after my neighbor had his drive sealed, I contact them via email to get mine done. They are quick to respond with an estimate. I received a phone call quoting the price. I wasn't quite ready as I was pricing other companies as well and told them this. A couple of days later I called Firemen Sealcoating and scheduled a day for sealing. So far, so good. The day for sealing comes. I wait and wait and wait. I get tired of waiting so about 3:00PM, I call. No answer. Interesting, but I have yet to call this company and not get an answering machine answering the phone. Anyway, I ask to be called back with an approximate time for the sealers to come out. No one calls back. About 4:30 PM, I call back and leave the same message. This time I get a bit snide and tell them that their phone message, telling me that they will respond promptly, is a joke. Still no response from them. About 6:00 PM, my wife gives them a call. Again, no response. About 6:30pm, the sealers come out, seal the driveway and leave an invoice in the mailbox. The work is done. Good. I expected that maybe, just maybe, I would get a call back. I never did. I think that if you call to get an estimate or schedule a day, then they call back; otherwise, they ignore you. It would be nice if they could provide an approximate time: morning, afternoon, midnight, etc. Their web site says they are available 24/7, but do not claim that you will talk to a human. read more

I will not recommend this company for seal-coating to any of my neighbors and friends. Very poor customer service and rude emails. Application was very poor with streak marks back and forth across my driveway. Emailed them to tell them that I am not satisfied and they said "tough" it will blend out in time. WE EXPECT FULL PAYMENT. When small business forget that sometimes, mistakes are made, and you have to account for losses and make it right. This company does not get that. read more

This is a terrible company! Our neighborhood was organizing a group sealcoating in an effort to get a better rate. Firemen's proceeded to do the following: 1) Provided no discount despite approximately 50 houses participating 2) we elected NOT to participate 3) they seal coated our driveway anyway and then billed us $30 more than they agreed to do other driveways in the neighborhood for 4) after explaining that I DID NOT ask firemen to seal coat my driveway, the owner Howie proceeded to threaten to remove it by melting it unless I paid him. On top of all if this, they did a sloppy job. They did not properly fill two small cracks and also got some of the product all over my grass. So if the requirement to succeed in this industry is doing a poor job at people's homes that did not contract them to do the work and then bill them anyway, then they're killing it. I encourage anyone reading this to never use Firemen Sealcoating. read more
