Today was my first experience here and I was surprised by how big it is inside! It looks so much smaller from the outside! Lots of seating indoors and outdoors as well. I decided to download their app to get $10 off my order and we placed an order online while inside. I decided to get the New York Steamer which was phenomenal! Absolutely loaded with meat, the garlic toasted bread and olives I added just made the sandwich! My husband really enjoyed his smokin' honey steak melt! He said it is worlds above a subway type restaurant. The fries were delicious and the sauces they had for them complimented them well! I tried the potato soup and that was also delicious with the cheese and onion. I ended up dipping my bread and whole sandwich in it! The bathrooms were clean. My only note is the speaker is very very loud in there. Startlingly loud. Overall this place has a great vibe. My son was intrigued by the stuffed dog wearing the fireman hat. Ivan immediately gave him one, which of course made my son's day. We ordered their season Thanksgiving turkey sub. Amazing! And while we were eating, without asking, Ivan brought out an extra tray for us. His customer service is exceptional! You can never find someone like that in any fast food establishment. Firehouse is definitely a diamond in the rough. From the outside, the restaurant looks decent. But, I didn't expect the sandwiches to taste so good. It is truly an Underrated restaurant. Their sandwiches such as their New York steamer, roast beef, and smoked brisket sandwich are excellent. Lately, I always get the smoked turkey sandwich which is also a very healthy option. Their smoked turkey sandwich is delicious and at the same time nutritious. Great balanced meal. Service is quick and ambiance is unique. We really like Firehouse Subs in Simi Valley, so when we found this location in Valencia and just wanted a simple meal, we gave this restaurant a try. Unfortunately, it was like night and day from the Simi place. The staff wasn't welcoming, the order took time to prepare that seemed excessive given that there was only one other patron in the place. The sandwiches were okay; nothing to write home about, whereas normally I'm tickled by the freshness and flavor of their sammies. I often order the Hook & Ladder, which features smoked turkey breast, honey ham, and Monterey Jack cheese (on which I have to pass). They don't have any vegan cheese, unfortunately for me. I miss cheese on sandwiches! Firehouse Subs feature a number of warm subs, as well as cold ones. The warm items lend a comfort food taste that is very enjoyable. The one served at this location was warm, but some element seemed missing. Maybe because the service was off, it affected the overall experience. As I mentioned, they weren't busy when we were there, but the dining room felt haphazard; some of the tables needed cleaning, and chairs were askew. We had just purchased our first newer car in over a decade (!) nearby, so we were looking forward to sitting together to talk about the purchase experience and be excited about our new baby. I've been working a block away from Firehouse Subs for about eight years, so I've eaten there many, many times... and with good reason. There are multiple other restaurants and diners nearby, by Firehouse is my go-to place for several reasons. First and foremost, of course, is the tasty food. The chili and meatball subs are particularly delicious, and I've *never* regretted ordering them (even if they haven't done my waistline a whole lot of favors!). Second and almost as important, the staff there is always so very warm, helpful, and friendly. From the owner/manager on down, I've had many lovely interactions those working there. I always get the feeling that they care about the customers and want to give them a good experience. Third and last, I look the open, spacious layout of the restaurant. The front of Firehouse is comprised of floor-to-ceiling windows, which bring in a lot of sunlight. The floors are wooden, which brings a "homey" touch. And the tables are kept very neat and clean. No complaints in the atmosphere department. So yeah, I've spent a ton of money on lunches and dinners at this place over the years, and *all* of it has been very well-spent. Just another Firehouse Subs? Well, not really. The people here are very friendly and helpful. Sandwich was the normal, very good quality of other Firehouse subs. Two clean bathrooms near the back on the right. The cashier was very helpful and recommended signing up on their app. Gets you points and a free sub on your birthday. I did it and it worked great. Decent sized parking lot because it's part of a strip mall. Nice sized dining area with a couple of tables out front. Has the usual 100 in 1 fountain drink machines. I've had this place a few times and it tastes amazing every time. It's such a vibe in this place. Walking in with everything Fire Station/ Fire Fighter themed, is super cool to see. The staff are always very nice and welcoming. I always get the Engineer in a small size and it's perfect every time. The bread is what really makes it. It's super soft and makes you want more. I've never liked sandwiches/subs but this is the only place I'll ever get one! I added some habanero tapatio (from home) on mine and it was perfect. Got a little bit of that extra kick and tangy flavor which goes a long way. I love the slice of pickle that comes with these as well! Can't go wrong. I always think the small is too little for me but it's actually the perfect size for me. I almost always have leftovers for later and with this, I finish in one seating. During our last visit, I noticed they didn't have the different sauces out to freely pour yourself some in little sauce cups. Maybe it's not a thing anymore because of Covid? I paid $13 for a medium steak and cheese sub. A medium is about 8 inches long. The roll was OK: better than the roll at the "subterranean conveyance" subshop, and not as good as the roll at the "subshop- With-the-two -1st - names". The filling was fairly tasty, but there would have needed to have been twice as much of it to be "Acceptable" and perhaps three times as much filling for the sub to be labeled "Good." That judgment is based on my experience eating steak and cheese subs. Very chintzy! HOWEVER, the little packets of ketchup they provided were awful: they tasted like solid sugar, and they were clearly not made by the famous pickle company. I like that the lettuce is shredded. The bad: The turkey sub comes with provolone cheese. They do look after the health and safety of the customers during this pandemic. The sandwiches, as I already expected, were great! And reasonably priced for the size of the sandwich! The restaurant is firehouse-themed, and the service was great. What I like about Firehouse is that they help raise awareness for several organizations and give back to their community. Came in here with my son after a long day on Sunday. The place was pretty much empty at 5 PM, there were lots of choices and I decided on a Pastrami Reuben medium size at the cost of $8.95. My son got some other sandwich...sorry I didn't ask him. But they offer a discount with a local company that you can get discounts called 25Score card, in this case a combo upgrade so my son got a drink and chips thrown in for no extra cost. The guys were friendly and the sandwiches came out fairly quick. There is a variety of sauces you can try or take with small containers provided. All in all good experience with cost of around $18.50 with the discount for the two subs, one chip and one drink tax included. Yeah, just another sub shop in my opinion. Being in a strip mall means there's lots of parking. They even have an outside seating area. I tried a small Cajun Chicken sandwich ($6.77 out the door). My family and I after Easter service went to this restaurant to eat. OMG! The decor was so special the way it honors firemen. It gives proceeds to their funds as well. The food was what shocked me.
