I've been seeing these commercials forever and a day and never been inspired to try this place out.... Until yesterday. Had a meeting in the area this morning and spent the night in the nearby hotel and was hungry so I just drove and stopped at the first place I saw that looked decent. Turned out to be Firehouse. *shrugs* Full disclosure: I've never been much of a sub guy to begin with. I eat them occasionally. That said, I like these - a lot. This place reminds me of Quiznos when they were good back in the day. Hot subs. I prefer hot subs if I'm going to eat one at all. Tried the NY Steamer and the BBQ Brisket sandwiches. Both piled high with lots of meat - easily feeding two people. Rather than cheddar cheese I got melted Swiss and then I added jalapenos and raw onions to my BBQ Brisket sub. Luckily the barbecue sauce wasn't overwhelming - it was just the right amount to make things interesting. NY Steamer: Corned beef brisket, pastrami, melted provolone, mustard, mayo, and Italian dressing. Both will a dill slice on the side. Firehouse only has chips though to go along with the variety of sandwiches...and drinks.... but I guess that makes sense considering how stuffed their sandwiches are. They're definitely not stingy with the meat and the bread is a good/hearty crusty Italian roll too even though it's not baked in house....like Subway....but I dislike Subway.... because they're stingy. They upsell you on meat that they should put on the sandwich to begin with. Firehouse makes a good sub. They have about eight to a dozen different types of sandwiches, white or wheat bread, salads, and a well stocked fixins bar for you to design a sandwich to your liking. And when they say 12" , they don't need to measure cuz it's definitely a full foot long sandwich. Sandwiches served in a footlong biodegradable cardboard box. Yup....I like Firehouse Subs. Firehouse Subs is a sandwich shop that is always consistent with the quality of their food. I remember visiting a location in Pensacola, Florida as a child and having a great experience. And even as an adult visiting locations in a different state, I have the same experience. You can never go wrong with their food. read more

This was my first time trying firehouse subs. I did a build your own sandwich and ordered Smoked Turkey. When I received my sandwich it was hot which took me back a little because I never had a hot turkey sandwich. I told the girl I wanted it cold since on the menu it says "hot or make it cold". She then got her manager which I was little confused with because I told her I never ordered here before and wasn't aware that the sandwich's are automatically made hot. The girl who took my order never asked if I wanted it hot or cold. The manager or whoever the guy was comes out and says "we'll make it cold for you out of curtesy" I then said to him what I told the girl. They did remake the sandwich but I didn't appreciate the reluctancy from remaking it as it was mistake on my part and the cashiers since she didn't ask. When I ordered I told her to give me a minute since I never ordered there, this could have all been avoided had she made me aware the sandwich's are made hot. read more

I love this place! This is my favorite spot for hot subs and Jersey Mike's is my favorite place for cold subs. The owner actually works and he is so kind! I was indecisive about two subs and he gave me one for free just because he knows I'm a regular customer. I was speechless and thanked him since I'm actually a Baltimore city special enforcement officer and I respect everything they do for firefighters and first responders. The subs here are delicious, the Cajun chicken sub and the hot Italian sub are perfect! I highly recommend the drive, it's also right next to TCBY, so perfect sorry for a sub and then ice cream. This was an absolutely miserable eating experience. The music was so obnoxiously loud the guy could not hear us order and got it waaaaay wrong and over charged by a large sub. The music was in Spanish and we Could not even understand or try to enjoy the music. No offense to the culture but that's not what should be loudly playing. The woman's bathroom was out of order so my daughter and I had to use the men's, which is ok- but this one was disgustingly filthy. The food flavor was delicious but the subs so skimpy. I love the Engineer Sub minus lettuce and tomato. The sub is always hot and fresh. I recommend this establishment.

The store was so dirty - woman's room not opened to the public so I tried to use the men's and it was disgusting! Had to walk out. Poop was on the toilet seat. Food wasn't that good either. Counter person screwed up what size I wanted. read more

Stopped in specifically for the Smoking Triple Stack and it did not disappoint. Had to order through the app in order to get this special sub and the process was simple and seamless, the only issue I had was that I had requested to redeem points for a free dessert and it didn't go through. The sandwich was stacked so high hubby had to eat his outside of the car, very impressive for a chain style sub shop and the kosher dill pickle was a nice touch. I absolutely loved the flavors of the sub and how it was served in a box and will definitely come back just for that. First time here at this new location. Great Italian sub combo. Very tasty and fresh. Good value for around ten bucks. They have a huge selection of sandwiches and combos. Also a large selection of under 500 calories. One neat feature, which I am seeing more of is the high-tech Coke machine with all there products and variations. I mix coke and Fanta. Yummy. Lots of different hot sauces to smother your grub with. It's nice to have one the area and not have to go to Owings Mills. What's tough though is the parking lot. Crowded and cramped. Firehouse is a solid place for lunch. There is a lot of great places to eat in the Timonium area so it's very competitive for any restaurant. That is my reasoning behind the bad reviews for this restaurant. I've been here multiple times for lunch and the food and service have always been good. I went in to use my birthday sub coupon on 3/19 and was welcomed by the harshness of the manager I presume, barking orders and commands over top the gentleman at the register whom was working. When it was my turn to be served a young man was eager and very happy to do so . While he was trying to assist me, she continuously talked at him or over him to me instead of waiting for him to give her my order. There was no line and I was in no rush. Yes, it was obvious that he had a disability but he was doing great. Just finished my Firehouse SmokeHouse Beef&Cheddar. This is definitely the best microwaved Lloyd's Pulled Pork w/ Cheez Wizz sammich I ever had. I was happy about the amount of bread eclipsing the minimal amount of smokey Hunt's Manwich. The rich ketchupy juices that soaked through the white layers of Wonderbread loveliness. The person taking my order asked if I'd like a pickle. Which I responded with a "Yes.". They put the beautiful sweaty fragile pickle in with the inner wrappings of the sandwich, so you get that nice brine soaked into the outer layer of the roll. This is what gave me a 'Firehouse Chub'. This experience can be had for a small $15.00 charge. Or... You could go across the street to the grocery store pick up a can of Loyd's pulled pork BBQ, load of white bread and go to town for under $5.00 9/10 would eat struggle meal again. read more

Took 3 people working, 15 minutes to make 3 subs .... they also have a sign that says "quality subs take time so you know they are slow." Ordered a chicken cheesesteak... they can't do that ok fair enough give me a regular cheesesteak (steak). If I could do less then one star I would.... I ordered a steak and cheese with nothing but meat and cheese only to have it covered in mayo. I live over a hour away and picked this up to bring home for dinner they had the nerve to ask me to bring it back which would be a 2 hour round trip! I asked for them to contact my local firehouse subs in York which is about ten minutes away and to have them remake it to which they said no. I essentially paid them to just take my money and have them go oh well sorry about your luck. I will never visit this location again and will tell every single person I know to avoid them. Yuk, I went there one time with a friend. He had a roast beef sub with the fixings, that was so dry he nearly choked to death on the damn thing. It took 20 minutes to get. it. I had the turkey on whole wheat which was pretty good; no complaints, but Subway or Towson bagels do it better. I wanted to have a chicken salad sandwich but for some reason they took tuna and chicken salad off the menu. Such a disappointment as I had their chicken salad at another Firehouse an it was the bomb. The manager was personable and on top of things . Staff was friendly, But I will not go back here. The counter girl said no chicken salad because it has pecans and people are allergic.....so freaking lame. If you want a decent sandwich go to Towson Bagels or JimmyJohns Update: I went back on 06/12/16 and got a turkey and cranberry sub. Anyways on entering I was immediately greeted with (welcome to fire house).the cashier was extremely friendly and Had a vary nice since of humor. And all the staff was super friendly. Worst service ever!! 10-7-18. For the Mgr: Order # 217321 time 2:29.51 PM. check the video please. No one in line when I entered. Only 1 person sitting and eating. No enthusiasm at all. I felt as though I was bothering them when I ordered. I placed my order. The cook placed the bread in the oven then returned to her conversation with the cashier. I started watching TV. After a few minutes of nothing, I walked over to the counter and saw that the bread had exited the over. She then looked at me then proceeded to make my 2 small subs. A gentleman and his daughter then entered the store. Then 2 workers entered from the rear. One said to her, "why didn't you call us if you needed help?'. To which she replied, "For 2 subs? I have 7 minutes." She took off her gloves and the coworker finished the subs. I told him she was 'slow as sh*t'. He apologized profusely. If a sub can be made in 3-4 minutes, why take 7 minutes to make a sub if that is the benchmark. The object is to beat the benchmark.
