Completely messed up order for a business and gave an order that was placed through DoorDash to the GrubHub delivery driver. Didn't give the order for GrubHub to them, and wouldn't let me talk to a manager, then said I had to call GrubHub there was nothing they could do. Gave me "corporate" number which was a random cellphone number. read more

Decided to give Firehouse Subs another go and was pleasantly surprised! (Kind of bumpy start when they first opened) They're decorated for Christmas right now...so that made the experience awesome from the moment I walked in the door. I ordered the #10 Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket sub to go. Oh my word, delicious! The sub was wrapped perfectly. Wheat bread was fresh with a crunchy exterior and was soft inside; perfect texture. The sub bread was layered with chopped pickles, melt in your mouth smokey brisket, melty cheddar cheese, a drizzle of BBQ sauce and a kiss of mayo. Absolutely delicious! PSA: if you went in the beginning and were disenchanted, definitely GO BACK and give Firehouse Subs another try. They're making some tasty grade A subs! read more

Okay, first I would like to say that I often tell people that Firehouse has the best subs in town, however, today was a bit of a disappointment. I walk in and what I'm assuming is the manager appears to be making subs and barely whispers "welcome to firehouse" in a very lethargic tone without even looking up at me and I thank him and he still does not look up. The cashier was very nice and polite and thanked me for rounding up for charity, repeated the order and made sure I knew what was on my sub. Then I sit and sit and sit for 20 minutes watching people coming in and getting the same lethargic greeting without eye contact or any interaction at all, it seems this manager must really hate his job. Then I get my $10 large Steamer and the meat is all dried out and there is hardly any sauce (it comes with mayo, Italian dressing and Dijon mustard) its usually dripping out of the sandwich with each bite. I do not think they are living up to their potential at this particular location if this is going to be the new norm. I love your concept, your contributions to the community and your product when prepared correctly. Please address this issue and bring back the Firehouse I love. Thank you read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I absolutely would. Upon our arrival, one of the workers (someone I briefly know from high school) began whispering and pointing at my fiancé and I. I grew increasingly aggravated as they wouldn't stop, and I asked them to please stop and just make our food. After this, the girl began taking pictures of us and pointing her finger and laughing again. Corporate has been contacted, but this was ridiculous. Do your job and ignore someone you might not like? Just what north Newark area needed! Fantastic subs and a cool dining area. Subs are huge and loaded with meat, cheese, lettuce, onion, tomatoes. All kinds of sauces you can add to your subs too. Finally a sub place that knows how to make subs around town!! I've had the rude staff, but I walk out then walk back in and BAM I've got what I wanted. It's wonderful to have fresh hot subs. Firehouse has perfected what I would term the "poached" sub and it's not a great thing. If you eat their fare in house you'll generally be fine. The ingredients are quality and sandwiches generally well-made except for one fatal flaw. Ordering carry-out is a dicey proposition. In my experience their bread doesn't get toasty or at all crisp and when wrapped up for any length of time-- even a few minutes-- a hot sub will turn disappointingly soggy and damp, even to the point of being wet. I like my salmon poached, my subs...not so much. read more

Don't darken this places doors unless you like waiting 25 mins on a sub. I've had firehouse before and it's usually excellent but this location is ran by buffoons. The staff was unfriendly and seemed confused. The also catered to a regular before 3 others of us. What a joke, I won't be back. read more
