My newest sub obsession location. Stopped by for a sub for lunch and I was blown away about how fresh their food is. The place is a bit snug with just a few tables and chairs to eat, if you don't want to be too close to the line while you're eating, it's best to get your food to go...The staff were nice and friendly and explained some of their menu items. I made a create your own medium sub with ham, turkey and salami. The bread was fresh, warm and fluffy. The deli cuts were great and the produce was just as fresh. You have the ability to make your own sub, or choose one from the menu. You also can make any sub hot or cold. I also ordered one of their confetti birthday cake cookies and that didn't disappoint! Be sure to do their survey so you can get a free drink on the next visit. This place gets pretty busy during the lunch hour of 12-1pm so order ahead if you can! I'll definitely be returning to try other subs.

I never been to this place before but it was an awesome visit. The cashier was such a Doll just because she took her time with the 4 of us making sure when get what we ordered. Her name is Ms Britney The food was great and the place was very clean. I didn't take pics of my food because we were press for time

Firehouse Subs are some of my favorite destinations for sub sandwiches and for me, it's almost always the meatball sandwich. I think the reason is it's something that brings back fond memories of growing up and loving them as a kid. My aunt made a mean meatball grinder. One time I ate 3 of them in one sitting, something my belly regretted for the next couple of hours. The concept here is counter-served fresh ingredient offerings made-to-order by a friendly staff and the result is delicious consumable food. Just from experience, some of the most popular items on the menu include the Italian Sub, the Club on a Sub, and the Firehouse Meatball Sub. They also offer a variety of sides, such as mac and cheese, chips, and cookies. Get a combo and save. Oh, and the fountain drinks are all the same price no matter which size you choose. They cover a whole range of sauces from mild to very hot. You can also add a variety of sauces to your subs, including Firehouse Original, Sweet & Spicy BBQ, and Honey Mustard. They offer a variety of vegetarian and gluten-free options. Super friendly, clean, and located near the intersection of Slauson Ave and Crenshaw Blvd.

All good on this first delivery from this particular Firehouse location . Order was correct and delivered in a timely manner - Bravo !

I've eaten here twice, and both times the subs were underwhelming. This last time my sub was drenched in sauce and the bread falling apart. Lastly, Firehouse is very overpriced for what you get. A small 4inch sub for $9 is way too pricey. Go to Mike's Deli down the street, the subs are better and for a few dollars more you get a superior sandwich.

Amazing service and hospitality! The man knew his hot sauces for my sandwich. Which was actually amazing for my sandwich!

I cannot rave enough about Firehouse Subs. My wife took me there to tag along. I ordered a tuna fish sub. I was going to eat half and save the half later, but I couldn't do it. It was so delicious. I had the whole wheat roll. I ate the entire thing in one sitting, then returned and got a foot-long and ate the whole thing in one sitting. Also, my wife and children love their sandwiches. It is amazing. I also love that they like to do serious community service work. Several checks of over $1 million have been raised and donated to community efforts. Eating at the firehouse is a win-win situation for everyone. The atmosphere is clean, and the restaurant's ambiance is a deli counter experience. I highly recommend the Firehouse Subs at Madera Heights.

    ### 2023 review 14/100 ### Since the SaMo location closed down, I came here for my Italian footlong. Ordered ahead on the app with all my fixings + also added a comment: do not cut my sub in 2. Showed up 5 mins after notification that my order was ready. But the girl behind the counter was just about to start making my sub. No biggie. 10mins wait she said. Guess fresher made! Then she asked me if I want all the ingredients and lettuce/tomatoes, etc. boxed on the side. Ugh? Oh she thought I meant "do not cut the bread" when I noted do not cut my sub in 2. LOL. Nope I'd like you to assemble my sub please ^_^ hahaha too funny. Fresh ingredients. Nice cut deli. Only thing is I would ask for the dressing on the side 'coz it gets the bread soggy too quick. Easy parking in lot. My new go-to location.

Ask mustard, point which mustard, I'm ONLY PERSON HERE at 9:05pm Tues- I hear the girls bla bla talking- nobody used any mustard. ‍
    Big L.

Employees tonight not sharp. 1) She never heard of the chicken parm- I had to show her on my phone, then the other woman told me no it's no longer here 2) She SPECIFICALLY said there's no specials today- but aren't there specials every day? It's Tues, my opening words were "Turkey bacon ranch?". So is she denying discounts to EVERYBODY all day??? Costing everybody a extra $2? Maybe management knows this **** 3) She and I pointed at the Dijon mustard together - on their little display box- I pleaded for extra on my sammich. Then I get home - NOOOOO mustard. Like ZERRRROOO. I was the ONLY person ordering- not like a busy time with a line. They were just back there gossiping. 4) I still left a $2+ tip at the beginning. This is not a helpful practice I would think at least mustard would come out of it.

Got to try this Chicken Parmesan Meatball Sub @ FireHouse Subs

I don't throw out 5 Stars very often. I'd go as be to say I rarely do, but Firehouse Subs straight up earned it! So let's start with the bad because let's face it, there isn't much bad! The parking lot and location is the worst that I can say negative about this place! If you're headed bear coming west bound on Slauson there is no left turn into this shopping plaza, so head up to the light at Home Depot and make a Uturn. It can get busy at lunch time and the parking lot only has one drive way in and out so it can get congested at times. But that's the bad, that's it! The good, and it's OH SO GOOD! Until today, I had very visited a Firehouse Subs, but the commercials currently running for the Parmesan Chicken Sub running on TV, I had to seek out this place. Sadly this location is the closest to me within 25 miles! (Please fix that asap!). The bread is super fresh and when a hot sub, it's toasted perfectly for an outer crust and soft inside! The Parmesan Chicken Sub is served on toasted garlic bread which let's face it, that's the way all meatball subs should be done! The chicken meatballs were so flavorful and the provolone melted cheese on top was perfection! My only complaint was my own doing and I ordered a small (which is half of a 6" sub) and i deprived myself of the deliciousness of a whole sub! TIP: Go Big! You're going to wish you did! The location was clean, had friendly employees making the most delicious subs which let's face it, within one block this street has amazing sandwich competition, but Firehouse is bringing it! They hold up against some of the best Subs LA has just down the street! And the fact that they give back to local first responders and fire departments earned them the extra star in my heart and belly! I'll be back & I'll be back often!

I always order the Italian - best sub in town! Great sauce, fresh ingredients

Easy parking, great sandwiches! Best sub in town. Wish there was one closer to me ( west side). I always get the Italian, with cheddar and sour cream Ruffles and orange Fanta zero drink. Great chip and drink selection. They even have gluten-free bread.

Jalen had exemplary service. Suggested I try the spicy Cajun chicken sandwich and I think I'll only be ordering that from now on!

What made it worse was when I brought the situation to the manager, Lesie. Instead of listening and handling it professionally, she laughed in my face as if my concern was ridiculous. That was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. I understand everyone has bad days, but customer service -- especially management -- should know how to handle concerns respectfully. I ordered 3 sausage croissant breakfast sandwiches for my family because we were in a rush and hungry. The first thing I noticed was the bread felt stiff and old, but when I looked closer at mine, there was an actual blue/green spot on the croissant bun that looked like mold. I immediately lost my appetite. I even took pictures because I already knew this was going to turn into one of those "that's not what you saw" situations. Instead of just throwing it away, I drove all the way back because if they were serving me bread like this, who knows how many other people got the same thing that morning. I asked for a manager. The woman at the counter (no name tag, no introduction, nothing) first tried handing me ketchup because she wasn't even listening to what I was saying. Then when I showed her the sandwich, she immediately ripped the spot off the bread and said, "Oh, that's just a burnt piece," and literally tried to hand the sandwich back to me like I was still supposed to eat it. That response alone was INSANE to me! I told her I was not comfortable eating that. Instead of apologizing or taking the concern seriously, she immediately got defensive and asked, "What do you want?" with a bad attitude, like I was inconveniencing HER for bringing back potentially moldy food. Mind you, one family member had already eaten theirs quickly because they were hungry, and another had eaten half before we noticed the bread looked old. At that point I asked for two replacements because I genuinely did not trust the food anymore. She acted like I was trying to scam free sandwiches instead of addressing a legitimate food safety concern. Nobody drives back to Jack in the Box to "finesse" sausage croissants. The craziest part is the attempt to remove the moldy spot and pretend the issue just, disappeared! That's not how food safety works. If a customer says something looks moldy, you don't peel it off and hand it back. You replace the food, apologize, and check the rest of the batch. This is my second bad experience at this location. The first was poor service. This time it was a possible health issue combined with rude customer service and zero accountability. I'm posting the photos so people can decide for themselves whether that looked "burnt" or not. Either way, the bread was stale, old, and handled horribly by staff. If you care about freshness, customer service, or basic food safety, I would avoid this location. Do NOT come here and the only safe thing about this place is that I'm never coming back here again.
