I went to pick up my order today, and the staff treated me very disrespectfully twice during the same visit. The order was under my husband's name, so there was a small mix-up with the name. But the real issue was the way I was treated. The staff member was in the sandwich-making section, so it was hard to hear clearly. When I said "excuse me" because I couldn't hear, they responded by speaking slowly in an irritated, almost angry tone -- as if I couldn't speak English. A few minutes later, they did the exact same thing again. This was not a language problem -- it was an assumption based on how I look. Their tone and attitude felt racist and discriminatory. I just needed them to speak louder, not slower. I hope the owner reads this and takes it seriously. No customer should ever have to feel disrespected or discriminated against in this way. read more

Of the major sandwich chains, Firehouse Subs is currently my favorite with the best balance between flavor, quality, and price. This location has a nice, clean interior with plenty of nearby parking. Service is fast and friendly. My go-to is the Engineer which is a turkey sandwich with Swiss cheese and mushrooms. It's a fairly unique combination that I haven't seen much at other sandwich spots and I appreciate it as a mushroom-lover. The Steak & Cheese and the Italian are also great. I choose the Spicy Cajun Chicken medium sandwich in whole wheat bread and my husband did the big Smokehouse Beef & cheddar Brisket ( smoked for up to 16 hours). It was my first time trying this sandwich chain. I had a coupon for a free sandwich for my birthday from downloading the app. This location is easy access with a huge parking lot in the back. The staff was friendly and service was fast. I got a meatball Parmesan and I got the cheddar brisket sandwich. Both were solid. I ordered this lunch through a 3rd party for some clients. I arranged for pick up to be 12 and had to adjust it to 11:45 and they did it no problem. When I arrived I parked nearby. I was greeted when I walked in and the nice man handed me my food and told me where to get the drinks. I thanked him and left. I dropped off to my clients and took mine out. I ordered the vegetarian sub on wheat. It came with chips and a dessert. When I tried it, the sub was ok. Nothing special about it at all. The sandwich I got here was not good. :/ It was soggy and the sauce was just too much. I couldn't taste anything other than the heavy jerk sauce. Which was way too syrupy for me and nothing like actual jamaican jerk sauce, lol. But I wanted to give this place a chance. I'll try anything once but the sandwich did not hit. I've never tried Firehouse Subs before but there was a T-Mobile Tuesday deal for a free medium sub with any purchase, so we decided to check it out. I had the Jamaican Jerk Turkey (freshly sliced smoked turkey breast, pepper jack cheese, sweet mustard sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, and a hint of Caribbean seasoning) and added pickled jalapeños. There are additional toppings at no extra cost. The options are chopped dill pickles, green peppers, onions, pickled jalapeños, banana peppers, black olives, cherry peppers, pepperoncinis, cucumbers, oil & vinegar, salt & pepper, and mayo. It's on a small sign next to the register, so you have to tell them if you want any add-ons when you are ordering. It's not like Subway, where you can see the counter while they're making it and pick what you want. I really enjoyed my sandwich. I'm not sure if I picked up any 'Caribbean' flavors in there but the sweet mustard sauce really made the sandwich. It had a kick to it. However, I do wish they didn't douse the sandwich with it because although the sauce was good, it was a bit too much. It made for a very messy sandwich. My husband had Firehouse Meatball (Italian meatballs, melted provolone, zesty marinara, and Italian seasonings). This was a pretty solid meatball sub (also messy, for obvious reasons), but I liked my sandwich better. I appreciated that the sandwich came with a dill pickle spear in a little plastic baggie. Everything was also packaged well. The sandwich came in a nice little sandwich box, and it wasn't a floppy mess like Subway sandwiches (plus they use a lot more ingredients than Subway). Went in today and tried to order a whole Italian. Asked for one half of it to have different toppings then the other half and the gentleman behind the counter refused. Said policy was both halves had to be the same. Was perfectly willing to sell me two mediums for $6.00 more which would essentially have less then I would get with the large. Never heard of of such a thing. This place is hardly a five star French restaurant. Zero stars. Never returning. read more

I travelled from Wappingers Falls, New York all the way to Englewood, New Jersey just to eat at Firehouse Subs this morning (the television commercials were causing me to want to eat there) and I was NOT disappointed. I ordered the roast beef sandwich (a very good sandwich), and the people who worked at the restaurant, were very hardworking, and they were very professional about everything. This place is the worst Firehouse Subs I have ever ordered from, I placed an order to be delivered it took 2 hours for my order to be delivered , when I called to ensure that the quality of my food would be satisfactory the manager on duty told me that the food would be made fresh, and that they only start to make the food once the delivery driver was near, the second I received my food it was ice cold, also made incorrectly and not desirable at all, I will never ever return or order food from here again.
