I regularly eat at FIREHOUSE SUBS (some twice a week) and today, May 6, 2026, around 2 pm, I ate at FIREHOUSE SUBS in Dothan, AL located at 3850 W. Main Street, Dothan, AL (this was my first time eating at any of the FIREHOUSE SUBS in Dothan, AL). I ordered a large firehouse HERO and presented my military ID (as I always do at other FIREHOUSE SUBS locations). The person taking my order (Mar F) asked why I was showing him ID (as I held my military ID up for him to verify). I replied it was for my military discount. He said we do not give discounts for military or anything else. I did not want to argue as there was many others in line behind me, and I was hungry, so I ordered a large Firehouse HERO. I have eaten at MANY, MANY FIREHOUSE SUBS within 100 to 150 miles of Dothan, AL (often twice a week) and I always receive a military discount of 10% plus free chips and a drink as appreciation for my military service. I originally expected to pay around $13 for a nice meal, but I actually paid $18.95 for an over steamed/heated soggy sandwich that was constantly falling apart as I ate it, an old tasting tough skinned pickle that was obviously not fresh and it was not crisp, and, when getting my iced tea, there was some sort of rubber hose attached to the tea dispenser (both the regular and decaf tea) which sticks several inches into the cup a customer fills, and once the cup is full, you cannot removed the cup from underneath the tea spout without spilling tea all over the counter (plus, this is NOT SANITARY as people refill the cup they have already drink from and this is probably a HEALTH VIOLATION). I was extremely disappointed at the service received, the quality of the food (soggy sandwich and a tough old pickle). Also, Dothan (imo) has a very high number of veterans (retirees included) along with active duty military, I highly suggest FIREHOUSE SUBS in Dothan, Al consider immediately implementing a military discount program (along with senior citizen/AARP discounts) AND advertise it once implemented. While I will definitely remain a loyal customer of FIREHOUSE SUBS (and I always place money in the FIREHOUSE box), rest assured, I will NOT be dining at any of the locations in DOTHAN ALABAMA again. read more

Very good food and friendly service. My favorite is the hook and ladder sandwich, I like their pastrami sandwiches also.

So the store is clean and located in a shopping plaza well lit and safe environment. When we got inside there was nobody in line. We ordered 4 sandwiches (which the food was outstanding) and it took them at least 20 minutes to prepare it. The sweet tea was out and the lady sitting near the soda fountain said she had told the staff 30 minutes ago. I guess they didn't want to make more sweet tea. The food was tasty and cooked right so it is sad the staff can not process orders in a timely fashion because I would not eat here again with all of the other options in town read more

Why is there not an option for zero stars?! This chain, particularly this location is absolutely horrible!! Second visit this month, figured I'd give it another try after the first time they made the order totally wrong. Went in today with my cranky five year old who just got out of school. Ordered a medium meatball sub with no cheese (I'm allergic) and a small turkey and cheese, not toasted for the hungry little hellion. Now this is the second time the cashier/order taker is having a problem with remedial English. I asked for a small sub, and he is asking if my kid wants a cookie, drink and chips. Why is it so difficult to just give the customer what they want? I explained I just wanted the two subs to go, not all the accoutrements. I asked that the little ones sub not be toasted or steamed or put to a flamethrower, just a simple sub, gyro, or hoagie depending on where you come from. This guy looked at me like I had three heads. Now he proceeds to tell me it's the same cost whether I get the soda and chips or not. Again I have to explain that I just want a small sub not a child's meal, but thanks for getting the little one riled up wanting that soda and cookie that I have plenty of at home. So, we get our subs, go home and lo and behold my sub is no good to eat because they put cheese on it!! What a shocker, maybe if you weren't hard pressed to get me to buy a kids meal, arguing with me, you would have paid attention and gotten my order right. You know when I ask for two subs that's what I want, I don't need your remedial lecture on how to save money, I have plenty and I just want two correctly made subs without an argument. So needless to say, Firehouse Subs is equal to the present the Fire Station's resident Dalmatian leaves on the sidewalk. Now I'm from Boston and I know I talk fast, but it was a simple request two simple subs. But no, not today. I definitely do not recommend this location, their food is made wrong due to inept help. Actually almost all the sub places in Dothan suck, McAllisters Deli, Which Wich, Firehouse, they all have no idea how to make a sub...and I never thought I would find myself saying that Subway is the best out of all of them. How I miss D'Angelos, best subs on the planet. If you prefer an argumentative cashier who is apparently deaf to customers orders the way THEY want them, and incorrect orders, then this is the place for you. As for me, I'll buy my sub fixings at Publix, delicious Boars Head meats and trimmings and I won't have to argue with anyone. read more

Update; they did contact me and said there was a new employee and hopefully they will fix this problem. Horrible service!! Do not order online!!!! They will not prepare your order until all others in restaurant have been served! They do not fill those orders until you stand in line and check in. Then they don't tell you the order is ready. They just sit it in the counter and you have to look at and touch others people bags. Paid for a drink but only had tea and water. They expect me to pay for a soft drink 2.69 and get tap water! Horrible!!! No apology not refund on drink and 20 minutes after online time to be ready! Never again!!! read more

Around March 1st I went to your establishment In the Walmart to get sandwiches for my sons birthday I got my order when i started eating mine i realize that the sandwiches was not made right it was missing a meat I called to complain and the woman who answered the phone say the phone said to just bring it up there I sat there and told her I live 20 minutes or so away and she said what do you want me to do About it so basically my sandwiches was wrong I wasted my money I get the owner to email me the next day to promise me something to mail to mail and I gave my email address gave my address and still have yet to get anything from the owner I would never walk into that restaurant ever again one They have employees that are rude to their customers too . you have an owner promising something and not sending it They have employees that I would just want to inform people that I highly doubt they care about their customers if you have employees who talk to their customers the way the way they did so I'm writing this this complaint because Your restaurant owners don't care about your customers and whether the food was right or wrong your employee think that they can talk to your customers a certain way and think it's OK well it's not OK I will complain on every single site about what my experience at your restaurant read more

I did not have a good experience eating here. But while I was eating, someone got in and started doing some repair work which created lot of dust inside. Atleast they shld have shown some courtesy to wait till customers finish. Very unpleasant. read more

I had came here on a Sunday at noon and the place was packed. It took about 10 minutes to place the order and 30 minutes to receive our food. All of our subs were wrong... Every single order. I would highly recommend FHS having more people on the clock.There were only three guys working with about 3x the customers. I only gave this review one star because the food turned out good and they were fairly nice. read more
