Pecan Jacks is a busy ice cream store in the heart of Santa Rosa Beach. I visited a few times during early/mid-April and it was booming whether midday or early evening. They have lots of ice cream flavors including flavors that are dairy-free and flavors that are boozy. I tried the Elvis (chocolate, peanut butter, marshmallow and banana), coffee/mocha and Reese's. All were tasty and very creamy. When you put it in a glass bowl the cream sticks to the sides - that is how you know it's good stuff. Dense, little water, and no air whipped in. A scoop is $7, two scoops is $9 and a pint is around $13. I haven't quite figured out how many scoops are in a pint but I know you get to skip the long, slow line. We finally wised up and bought pints but we also only had a short distance to travel home. Overall a good but definitely busy ice cream store. Based on the quality of the product, I'd be happy to return, daily.

Dothan sorely needed a spot to fill this need. This time, I didn't go for a popsicle. I went for a milkshake. They serve Blue Bell ice cream (hey! That's a winner's plan)! However, there is only one size and it was $4.99. While I was there, I was a little famished so I tried a chicken salad sandwich and potato salad. The chicken salad was homemade. It was simple and delicious. The only ingredients were chicken, mayo, sweet relish, and garlic salt. The potato salad was the variety I loved the most - baked potato with some kind of sour cream concoction. Props to my server, Brett, for calling my by name and being personable.
