Okra, black eye peas, sausage and skillet fried corn bread.....Mmmmm
David D.

What a great little hole-in-wall place that serves old fashioned southern food just like yo mama, used to make. Situated in an old house and serving food cafeteria style, I had southern fired okra, black eyed peas, sausage with skillet fried corn bread. I finished it off with some fine banana puddin'. Do stop by, you'll hurt yourself.

Driving from Panama City beach back to Atlanta. This is a very pleasant small locally owned business. Kick the chains, support real people.

The Silo - Cheeseburger

The Silo is just the hippest roadside burger stand you've going to find. What an absolute darling way to repurpose a grain silo. I was promptly greeted at the order window by a very friendly young lady, and placed my order for a cheeseburger. It's freshly prepared, so I sat down on a porch chair and waited until it was ready. My order was prepared perfectly, and the burger was absolutely delicious. If you're looking for a great, basic burger, you can't go wrong stopping here. They nailed the essentials, and left me wishing I had ordered two. So if you're ever in the area, take a little extra time go check them out. This is a great small business that we need to support!

It's a squatty metal round building with a tin man style hat and a cute covered porch. Place an order at the window and when served, enjoy sitting at a table or in a chair along the railing! The chili dogs (3) for hubby, and a crisp sweet, slawdog for me, with a bag of chips and some ice cold cokes, made a beautiful, warm day GREAT! We devoured our late lunch under a nice, cool shade on the porch and watched the local traffic go by maybe to the lake nearby! Easy, breezy and a fun, little spot to catch up on some nostalgia in a roundabout way!

I will never return to this location . if I do it will be when she is fired . If she doesn't know how to manage a fast food place. She probably can't manage her household. But what do we need to expect from a McDonald's!? I have thrown up twice just thinking about the situation. If you live in or passing through Abbeville Al don't stop at this location. Nasty food and unprofessional employees. ( Management) I wish I would have seen her name.

I got my receipt that also said unsweetened ice tea. The cashier was pleasant but no smile or cordial niceties. I went to the next window and got my tea. I drove off quickly to make room for the person behind me to pull up. The tea was sweet tea. So I turned around, parked the car and went in. I asked the cashier if I could switch it to an unsweetened tea and showed her the receipt. No smile. No, "Gee. I'm sorry we made a mistake" no "Of course. Let me fix that for you" Instead she called to someone, walked away, got the tea for me and told me that she can't take the sweet tea that I put in the counter. I asked her what she wanted me to do with it. No answer. Just turned her back and walked away. If I were an angry person I may just left it there for her to throw away. But I took it to the garbage myself. I've been in the food industry for 30 years. It is 50% the food and 50% service. I understand that help is hard to come by now, but I hope the manager or owner of this store will initiate daily pre shift training for the employees. There is no need to not be civil to the people who you are quite literally there to serve.

Ran by a father and son tag team, the copper kettle has the perfect small town jewel feel to it. I frequent here for breakfast as well as lunch anytime I'm in Headland. The experience at The CKD can be attributed to 3 main qualities: service, quality, and price. Service: You're not going to meet two kinder, dedicated men anywhere. These gentlemen take pride in their work as well as there community. If you are a regular, like me, they'll have your regular order on the grill before you make it in the door. These guys are good to their customers and kind to all people. Quality: All ingredients are fresh, meat and produce, from local farmers. Countless times I've been there as a local farmer brings fresh vegetables, bacon, ham, etc, and nothing beats a BLT with their smokehouse bacon and fresh lettuce and tomatoes. These guys have mastered their craft too. Well prepared and cooked to perfection. Price: I don't know how these guys stay open. Just as an example, if you order a breakfast sandwich with Ham, egg, and cheese, you get at least two pieces of thick cut ham, usually more, for $2.75. They're like Oprah giving out BMWs. It's ridiculous. Lunch is just as cheap for lots of food. The only negative to The Copper Kettle Diner is the small staff. I've been disappointed to find them closed a few times because no one is available to run the store. This is not a regular issue, however. So do yourself a favor and drop in at the Copper Kettle Diner. Whether it be for a breakfast sandwich or for lunch, you will not be disappointed.
