One of my sons favorite places to eat! So glad they opened a store in Castle Rock. The "New York Steamer" is the way to go.

I told my wife she could pick whatever she wanted and we would split a medium. After our first visit we learned that the sandwiches are BIG! She ordered a medium BLT Cheese Steak. I was excited when I heard that is what she had decided on. Been a while since I have had a cheese steak sandwich. The woman at the cash register asked if we wanted sweet and/or hot peppers, we went with both! OMG, it could not have been better! Delicious, messy, spicy and BIG! I was so happy she picked that one, it was so darn good. I would order that sandwich again in a heart beat. I had to stop back by the order counter to let them know how super good it was. Love this place! Capriotti's is challenging me against even going to a couple of my favorite burger joints. Always so fresh and delicious! You know we will be back!!

I'll admit, this location is weirdly arranged and kind of small, but gets the job done. We were greeted by the woman behind the counter, placed our order (Hot Italian for me and Wagyu Cheesesteak for him) and within about 10 minutes our food was ready! Each sandwich is made from scratch each order, so the wait was no problem. My hot Italian was decent - would have loved if the bread was toasted, but was tasty, nonetheless. My husband was happy with his sandwich and chips as well. It is kind of pricey - but for the quality of food and today's prices, it's not terrible. Just something to be aware of! One criticism, I don't know if they were understaffed or what, but the entire space was filthy. Crumbs, lettuce, napkins and used cups were all over the tables, floors and counter. Just created a dirty vibe, but one that was quickly overlooked after clearing our own space and eating. Next time, I'll happily eat outside!

I got the BBQ chicken, my husband and got the pastrami, and we got a kids meal grilled cheese. There was a mistake with my sandwich and they made me a new one quickly and gave us a complimentary dessert (probably also because we had a long wait because of point #1). The kids meal is a decent value for the money, and my child ate it happily. My sandwich was packed with all the toppings, no complaints there. My husband did comment that his pastrami was a bit chewy, so he'd likely get something different next time. Overall, a decent experience considering everything. It was busy on a Saturday at lunch time.

I tried to support our new Port of Subs twice. Twice. Because I believe in second chances…read more Apparently, Port of Subs believes in first drafts. Attempt #1: Teriyaki Chicken Griller. Calling this "teriyaki" feels legally questionable. The sauce tasted like someone described teriyaki to a guy who's never actually had it. Sweet? Sure. Savory? Not even a little. And the chicken? The texture was... unsettling. Like it had secrets. Slightly slimy, vaguely suspicious, and absolutely not something I'd voluntarily eat again. I've had better teriyaki from a mall food court five minutes before closing. Attempt #2: The "Gourmet" Grilled Cheese The audacity. The confidence. The boldness of putting the word gourmet in front of what is essentially cafeteria-level deli cheese between basic bread is honestly inspiring. There is no grill involved. None. Zero. This sandwich gets tossed into a microwave like it's being punished. The cheese melts just enough to pretend it tried. By the time you sit down, it's already cold. No crunch. No golden crust. No buttery crisp. Just soft, sad bread hugging melted mediocrity. I've made better grilled cheese at 2 a.m. with one eye open and no groceries. I really wanted to support a new local spot. I walked in hopeful. I left confused. Twice. At this point, if I want a hot sandwich, I'll just stand outside in the sun holding a Lunchable. At least that has consistent standards. Two visits. Two disappointments. My sandwich era at Port of Subs has officially ended. At least the people were friendly there. UPDATE: UPDATE: Port of Subs has now entered the automated response phase of our relationship. Twice. TWICE. They reached out asking for feedback. And twice, I responded with actual details like a human being participating in a conversation. And twice... they completely ignored the fact that I had already replied. Instead, I received another cheerful request asking me to "go back to the feedback section" and provide more information. Like we're trapped in some kind of customer service Groundhog Day. At this point, I'm no longer convinced there are actual people involved. I think the entire operation might just be three microwaves and a haunted survey form. Even the Google review response felt copy-pasted straight from the "Concerned But Not Listening" starter pack. "Please tell us more about your experience." I HAVE. REPEATEDLY. WE ARE NOW LIVING INSIDE THE DETAILS. I'm starting to believe if I walked into the restaurant physically holding the sandwich and explaining the problem out loud, someone would hand me a QR code and ask me to describe it online. Honestly, the customer service experience somehow feels exactly like the food: lukewarm, confusing, and suspiciously disconnected from reality. The wild part is I wasn't even trying to be harsh originally. I wanted this place to improve. I wanted to support a local spot. But after multiple disappointing meals and an endless feedback loop that leads directly back into itself, I feel less like a customer and more like a beta tester for an unfinished sandwich simulation. At this point, I fully expect the next email to ask whether I've tried providing feedback about my feedback.

The bolognese was my favorite and I'm really hoping they bring it back because I'm still thinking about it & the only other pasta I dream about was from my trip to Florence. I love the little booths up top, it gives a great view of the restaurant and the seating is comfortable. I'm not sure if I just get lucky but parking is always super easy. The last several times I've been in. I parked right on the street out front, but there is a lot straight across from the fountain and one across the street the other direction.
