I liked the sub a lot but I think I would like it more if it was a bit saucier like with some BBQ sauce or mayo, otherwise the marinara sauce paired well with the meatballs!! Along with an overall rating, each spot gets scored on redeemability (how easy it is to claim) and actual value. Jersey Mike's Redeemability: 5/5 (requires sign-up up for the news letter) Actual value: 10/5 (A WHOLE SET OF ONE REGULAR SIZE FREE SUB (ANY) and a drink!) WOW! Aside from the fact that Jersey Mike gives out the BEST BIRTHDAY FREEBIES out of all the cafes and restaurants (with absolutely no convoluted process to redeem - the staff were extremely nice and friendly), the sub itself was freaking amazing. I got the big kahuna - the beef was freshly grilled with LOTS OF white American cheese that melts all over, and the delicious grilled vegetables on top. I swear to god, this was perhaps just as good as the Philly steak sandwich I had in Philly if not better (as a birthday present). The store was as also super clean albeit extremely popular, with freshly cut meat and cheese served in an efficient speed. Tho I got a free combo, I also saw that the sandwiches were very reasonably priced - the quality and the price were unbeatable and I'll def come back often. Love that they have different sizes for you to pick from, so we got their giant size and wow it definitely was gigantic! You can choose your toppings ranging from lettuce, onions, tomatoes, oil, vinegar and spices, and more. Since it was our first time, we got it served the Mike's Way which had everything on it. Next time I think I'll opt out of the Mike's Way, since I didn't love my sandwich doused in vinegar - it also made it pretty soggy pretty quickly. The sub feels fresh, from the bread to the cheese, and they don't skimp on the sauce. Great Heartland location close to lots of retail and other food shops. Ample parking and easy to spot. There's a good handful of tables inside for individual or pair seating, and service is pretty quick. I pre-ordered on a busy day and only needed to wait 10 to 15 minutes on a weekend evening. They do minor promos through their own loyalty program , but I find they offer better discounts on Uber/skip/etc.

It made sense to grab a sub and eat it at home. There was lots of parking in this area. I kept my car parked near Cineplex and walked over to this eatery. Once I was inside the store, there were a couple of customers before me. My usual order is the number 9, which is the turkey club sub. I tend to get the regular, which is the medium size out of the three that you can get. I got a friendly woman who was preparing two subs before mine. She asked what I'd like. I said the number 9. I was a bit rusty, as I haven't had anything from Jersey Mike's for a good year. I forgot to say that i wanted my number 9 on rosemary parmesan bread. This woman didn't ask me about the bread and defaulted to making my sub with white bread. It was okay. However, I would have liked to have been prompted. This woman prepared my sub with one of the two subs that the couple in front of me had ordered. It was weird. Wouldn't you want to work on the two subs that the couple had ordered together, and then separate mine? My sub and one of theirs weren't even the same. The male from the couple had to say something at the end when it was time for him to pay. It looked like she was going to charge him with one sub, when he was clearly paying for two. Weird. The woman got back to making my sub. She asked if I wanted it Mike's way, which meant onions, lettuce, tomatoes, red wine vinegar, olive oil, oregano, and salt. My usual is Mike's way minus the onions. I said that. Mike's way minus the onions. The woman asked me to repeat it. I did. Her colleague behind her turned around to look at me. I looked right back at her. Are you staring at me because you are quietly judging me on my omitting onions on my sub? I don't see anything wrong with it. Why rudely turn around? You aren't working on my sub. Your colleague is. I remember saying the same thing at the Markham location. I got the you-don't-like-onions comment. Nope, that's not true. I love onion rings and French onion soup. I love thinly sliced raw onions. Don't give me thick-cut raw onions. It's the raw burn that I don't enjoy. I found the staring to be rude. In the past, I'd be uncomfortable. I will not be made to feel bad. I will stare you down until you look away, which is exactly what I did to make the rude woman stop. I've ordered this sub without onions at the Kitchener location countless times. No one has every looked at me funny. I miss that level of customer service and respect. At the checkout, you can enter your phone number associated with your Jersey Mike's rewards account to earn points. I have enough points for a free sub. I didn't use them for this order. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I grabbed my sub and left. I put my sub in my insulated bag. It wasn't a hot sub. Just habit. I'm glad that I did. When I got home, for the first time in my life, a Jersey Mike's sub leaked red wine vinegar and soaked the paper bag. My insulated bag kept my car and me clean. Luckily, I only had to wash out the bag. Still, I shouldn't have had to. My sub was good. It needed my usual rosemary parmesan bread. It was also more soggy than usual. The applewood smoked bacon was excellent, as were the roast beef, turkey, swiss cheese, and mayo. It's hard to say whether this place was heavy-handed with the red wine vinegar or olive oil. I also don't know if it was a wrapping issue. I do know that I had a wet sub bag. It's a three-star review. The restaurant interior was bright and clean with high ceilings and a nice vibe (no fluorescent lighting). The menu was varied. I ordered the Italian deli sub. The small is their 6" and large is their 12". Bread options were white or whole wheat. The staff member kindly walked me through what a fully loaded subs toppings were. We were handed our to-go bag and headed home. To my surprise upon opening the bags, the subs were individually boxed with a pickle served separately on the side. The size of the sub, the amount of fillings and the freshness of the ingrediants put together shops to shame! For the price point of the sandwich (~$17) I thought it was really fair pricing. This was truly a classic sub sandwich experience. I will absolutely be back for my next sub craving!

I came here for a late lunch around 2pm, but during typical lunch hours, I could imagine they might fill up. If I'm craving a good burger again while in the area, I'd likely return to The Burger Priest.

I was expecting something fine along the lines of Subway, but this was actually way above average. The fresh bread was the perfect vehicle for a bunch of perfectly-proportioned components, and that Red Wine Vinegar sauce ties the whole thing together super well. Yeah, I'll be returning to Jersey Mike's in the future. I'm especially curious about their various cheesesteaks.
