I have been to this location a lot and it is seriously a hit and miss. I haven't received my order as of yet and the managers attitude is horrible. Her employees are jumpy and nervous to answer her or ask for assistance. I have heard her loudly belittle the sweetest cashier for what seems like a minor problem with the meatballs. Then become confrontational with a customer that she could have defused easily. The irony is I'm here today because I received a free sub card for poor service in the past. Our sub was so wrong that after my survey the main office called me. update now employee is getting feed up with above manager! Not a comfortable environment. Really glad this order is to go! Probably the worst meal ever prepared by a Firehouse Subs I've ever been to. Not from Albuquerque, just visiting. Normally where I've lived in TX & OK, they are spot on. The crew seemed nice here, but the sandwich was just plain unsat. Didn't feel the need to ask for a remake cause you never know how they will react to remaking the meal. The sandwich was very skimpy on just about everything in between the bun and the flattened out bun itself. Not to mention the some of the veggies and meat that fell out were tossed on top. Side bar, they are now asking for tips at the payment screen when they never used to. I don't tip if I have to order standing up and especially not in advance. Haven't had Firehouse Subs in years and forgot why. I guess I was a Subway person due to the $5-Footlong being a thing. We decided to go because my SO is name Christopher. We went during the Free Sub Promo when his name was announced that day. It's an interesting campaign to get people to come in to personally receive a Free Sub based on their first name on their ID. It's not explicit that it more like BOGO. Ordering was easy and fast because you just pick from their set menu and 2 kinds of bread. Wait wasn't long and everything comes out hot. I ordered the Italian Sub and SO ordered the Firehouse Meatball Sub with a side of jalapeños. Any extra toppings are a surcharge. Overall, I'd recommend because it tasted really good. read more

Since day one this place has won me over! It's because of them I no longer find myself going to subway or anywhere else really for my sub cravings! The last time I was at one had to be precovid though. Why? With all the choice I found myself less craving the subs. After not going for so long I did find the place to be different these days. Not much room for dinning in these days. On top of that they don't even ask if it's for dine in or take out just automatically becomes a takeout order. They don't even mention the rewards program anymore. It is a bit disappointing. The food on the other hand is still just as good as I remember! I usually go to the Firehouse Subs by Cottonwood, but the Winrock location is close to my work and I got a craving while working. I went on a Sunday and got the engineer. The lettuce and onions were very dry and limp and the tomato was mushy. I figured it was the weekend and they were probably slow and the ingredients were out for awhile. So I picked off the veggies and ate the rest. I decided to give them another try a couple weeks later. I ordered for some coworkers, so had requested that they write the names on the boxes of the sandwiches so we wouldn't have to go in each other's sandwiches to figure out who they belonged to, something I've done at the other location with no problems. None of the sandwiches were labeled and when I opened the hero that I ordered, the entire bottom bread was soggy and wet. I picked off the wet bread pieces and tried to salvage my apparently keto friendly sandwich. I will not be revisiting this location. I was not greeted either time when I entered as I am always at the other location. And quality is apparently not a priority here either. read more

This is definitely not a fast food sandwich place. They take their time here and I mean...TIME. So, if your next destination is a movie, I wouldn't come here. Very very slow service. While they have an assortment of signature sandwiches, the plain janes can order their simple sammies too! I really liked the service. I was in and out within five minutes. Subs are normally great but I am on a keto diet and the accommodations for special diet needs are poor. Asked originally for a steak & cheese in a lettuce Wich but the don't do that so I just got the steak & cheese without the bun. And a drink. Cost was $10 and I got a small bowl with maybe 4 ounces of meat if I was lucky and hardly any onions and peppers. Lady insisted it was 8oz of Meat but no way it was half a pound of meat. Orders my usual and a chicken noodle soup for my son but he didn't like it and it was pretty mush. The guy said well that's how dumpling soup is but I've had can soup and Olive Garden soup that was chicken noodle soup with dumplings and they were way better. The consistency as well. Long story short I asked if we could get a kids sub because my son wouldn't eat it or if I could get anything else. The manager was rude and said "I have 10 subs up for order and I'll be a while, like 20 minutes so I don't know if you want to wait or not." I said well the kids gotta eat and we waited. Just ordered two Firehouse Steak and Cheese sandwiches. Live right around the corner and the bread and fillings were completely cold and soggy when we got home. Not sure what kind of meat they use but it looked like processed meat and it was gross. The sandwiches also tasted terrible. Worst Philly sandwiches we've ever had. I got the Italian chicken Salad which looked really good, but as I started to toss the salad in the bowl, the whole bottom of the salad was filled with wilted lettuce, I pick it all out and it cut my salad in half with how much bad lettuce was in there. I have had wilted lettuce in salad before, but this was by far the worst I have ever seen. This shows that they obviously aren't paying attention to detail or checking their produce for freshness. I have never had a bad experience at a firehouse subs until today. Our cashier, Marissa was extremely rude, and ultimately I was shocked. When we asked if we could make our sandwiches a meal, she replied with a huge sigh and eye roll. She acted very annoyed as if we had done something wrong. While we were eating the workers disappeared for long periods of time, we wanted to buy an extra bag of chips but none of the workers were coming out of the back. But as always, our food was AMAZING. My partner got food to go last week. He said that the only one who looked remotely like they knew what they were doing was the manager and it is probably true. 1. They forgot to add the Rice Krispies in the kids meal. 2. The grilled cheese had some issues: the cheese wasn't even melted probably because the buttered side of the toast was on the inside (legit cold butter and two no melted slices of cheese).
