My wife and I bought a whole small cheesecake and brought it back to our B&B, the Landmark Inn. We sat together, ate it slowly, laughed, kissed, and made love. That simple cheesecake became the centerpiece of one of the most beautiful, intimate weekends we've ever had. It wasn't just dessert - it was magic. It reminded me how joyful life can be, how love feels, and how small, perfectly made things can create lasting memories. Thank you, Don, for your craft, your dedication, and for making something that became so much more than just cheesecake for us. My wife and I have been through some really tough times the past few years, and when I tell you that we reconnected over this cheesecake, I mean it. It's not just good, it was a big part of a moment in time that helped heal a part of us that was so very broken. What an amazing trip. We WILL be back. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart. P.S. to the girl that came in disgruntled when she found there was only plain cheesecake left, I hope you someday find happiness too. Maybe you should give the cheesecake a try. It worked for us. Doesn't my wife look happy with her PLAIN cheesecake?

Healthier choices for snack foods, some toiletries, and an incredibly large section of chocolates at the register. The owners are super friendly and greet everybody as they enter. Since my first shopping experience, I've been back several times even though it is about a 30 minute drive for me one way. I highly recommend this small business, especially if you were looking for organic and all natural foods.

Compared to other specialty stores, this one is a bit smaller in inventory, but extremely well organized and varied. There was enough of everything in each area of merchandise for me to emit a few "Ooh's and Aah's. Talbott & Arding was chosen as our first stop on our girls' getaway journey. Tucked in the Hudson Valley, just an hour from the Berkshires, it was a sweetly energetic beginning to our day. We each chose a sandwich from the counter. My smoked salmon on focaccia was a delight. The bread, airy and light, beautifully happy yeast just bounding with lift, defying the constraints of olive oil which left my fingers gloriously glistening. I haven't had a focaccia as happy as that in a minute. Super thin radish, bright pickled shallot and fresh watercress all gave a nice vibrant touch. Ben's cream cheese couldn't possibly be creamier. And the delicate, silky, fresh, luxurious salmon... What a dream. So balanced. I filled my arms with goods- iberico salami, Aleppo chili oil, Blackstrap coffee beans, local chocolates, and an adorable Talbott & Arding puzzle. I'm sure I could have easily convinced myself to buy just about everything I laid my eyes upon. The cheese counter was an absolute work of art. It's clear that Talbott & Arding is a willing servant to the gifts of the surrounding earth and people. The homage it pays is palpable. Our stop at Talbott & Arding set the tone for an intentional, peaceful, vibrant, cozy, delicious, connected trip. I'll be back immediately.

(Certainly a lucky neighborhood) It looks small from the street but once you walk in, it opens up to a sizable store. We were greeted by a friendly staff member, he took the time to describe their cheese selection and the other things going on in the shop. He then pivoted to giving us tons of help selecting the right cheese. We sampled a couple of things and then he dialed in three choices for us to buy. (With an assist from another customer that insisted that we would love the Delice de Bourgogne) Prices were reasonable enough for the quality. We added some gourmet crackers that were neutral enough to not overpower the cheese. The next day, we made the three cheeses the focus of our lunch. The Delice de Bourgogne was the star of the show, a creamy, earthy, and savory masterpiece. The two year aged Gouda and creamy blue cheese were delightful as well!
