Our car broke down in Portugal. We had the best coverage, but had to leave the car in Portugal because of mechanical difficulties. We were told that we had to wait a week before the car would be ready. When we explained that we could not wait, having other plans for travel in our limited time period. We were told to find our own way back to Madrid, that we would be reimbursed. There were still two weeks left on our contract, but with the experience we had, we declined another car in Madrid when we got back there the next day. We were told that a report of our incident and claim for partial reimbursement would be forwarded to a supervisor, and that we would be satisfactorily compensated. We have heard nothing, even after sending a written request. It has been 5 weeks since we submitted the initial paperwork, and two since we emailed the company at the airport to inquire. We still have not had a response, and we assume that we will be treated as if the contract had been fulfilled, as if nothing had gone wrong. But something did go wrong, and we are very unhappy not to receive any response, and no partial remuneration for our expenses and great inconvenience. I cannot recommend Firefly to anyone as a result. read more
