I like that Firefly has always felt like a very welcoming, unpretentious, neighborhood coffee shop. I used to live around the corner and loved sitting on their patio with a great cup of coffee. They were one of the first places to let me hang some of my paintings when I was just starting out as an artist and my interactions with the owners and staff were very positive. This place is great to grab a latte and sit and converse with friends/family. I ordered a caramel latte and really enjoyed it. Latte prices range from 4-5 dollars. They offer sandwiches, smoothies, pastries, and cookies. Sat down and ate a cookie and drank my latte on one of their large oversized couches. An appropriate place to bring kids- brought my two year old niece and noticed multiple other people bringing young infants and children. Looked for a great coffee spot while in town and couldn't help but read how delicious their chai was so I decided to try one . I got a hot pumpkin chai with an extra shot of espresso and it was the best chai I've ever had in my life and I've had dirty chai's from quite a few places over the world . I come here occasionally and usually just get the drip coffee. It isn't butter but it isn't very hot when they pour it and give it to me in the cup. I love the patio and their indoor seating area too. They have little areas to look at local wares and have events sporadically during the week or weekend. The prices are comparable to other coffee places. They also have a cooler case with bakery items and such. Free WiFi for their customers with tables or couches to sit at. It can be a little noisy but that is typical for coffee houses that have a wide range of customers that visit. It's fun to come occasionally but not my favorite place to frequent. read more

If you want a quality coffee served by friendly people, this is the place to go. Every coffee I've had has been delicious and handmade. I also highly recommend the peanut butter shake. It is decadent and tasty. They also have a bevy of baked goods and other foods. My favorite thing is the gluten free chocolate chip peanut butter cookie. I had the opportunity to go back to the Firefly a few weeks ago, and my 5-star review is still totally justified. I'm so glad it's still there -- they just celebrated 10 years. While the strip mall doesn't look like much, the interior is beautifully painted and full of comfy furniture. There's also an outdoor patio area for those who feel they must smoke or want to enjoy the trees. The coffee is as good as it's ever been, and I'm glad to see their standards haven't changed in the 10 years they've been around -- they're still as high as ever. Love ya, Firefly :) read more

Firefly is probably the best espresso/coffee experience in the Summit City. The quality is always top notch, the bakery and food is fresh and satisfying. The prices are reasonable. The coffee is consistently excellent, their espresso roast is a dark roast with a sweet and creamy finish. They definitely are in touch with coffee/espresso trends, and have a rock solid presentation for their drinks. So much to love about this place. I'm personally amused by the number of people who frequent coffeehouses that don't like coffee, but the Firefly keenly knows how to please everyone... a neat feat! Always seem to run into someone we know when we visit. Firefly is a bright spot in the community and a trusted haven for a good espresso con panna! read more

I was so afraid that I would not be able to find a great cafe as wonderful as Whereabouts Cafe when I left Delaware. However, my cousin told me about Firefly and I am so glad she did. Their latte's, coffee and pastries are beyond delicious. I mean, totally amazing. I normally get a vanilla-caramel latte with cream and the brown sugar marshmallow square. My goodness just thinking about it I am certain I have gained an extra 5 pounds. Everything I have ever purchased here was definitely 5 stars. There is plenty of seating and spots for you and your laptop. The ambiance is great and they also sell handmade items (jewelry, bookmarks, cups, etc.) that were created by local artists. The environment is very eclectic and you will find a wide variety of people working or visiting at any given time. They offer great service and products. (I am a personal fan of the mocha shake!) I agree with some reviewers that it can sometimes get crowed and a little hard to navigate. However, there are also times when it is the perfect place to study, read a good book or just have a quiet conversation with friends. Firefly is a charming coffee house on Anthony that is beautifully decorated, has great coffee, and as Liz R mentions, excellent smoothies with real fruit. It is next door to a quality health food store and is a convenient hang out for students who go to IPFW and Ivy Tech. On weekends there are performers and sometimes there are open mic nights for poetry or open jam sessions. It's one of the best little spots in Fort Wayne. read more

By far a great overall place! Environment: this is an amazing place to go and study and relax. One thing that I really like about this place is that it feels very homey and is very decorated. The walls are painted very cool and there are many paintings put up. It also has a very local feel to it. There are items for sale which are made locally and also many things placed on a tack board that show local things. Service: the service is totally outstanding. Super nice people and very personable. I feel very welcome here and without a doubt some of the best people and service at any coffee house here in Fort Wayne. This is a very well known coffee place here in Fort Wayne and for good reason. Drinks: in my opinion I do not think these are just your average cups of coffee. They taste very good and have high quality ingredients in them. I usually resent that layer of foam obstructing the delicious coffee from reaching my lips. But today at the Firefly I almost enjoyed the foam more than my actual drink! I had the Viennese Latte and it was amazing. The service was good and the atmosphere was enjoyable. My friend and I really enjoyed observing the people who are obviously regulars of the place. We stopped here on our way home from Chicago. We love iced lattes and search for places that have great ones whenever we're away from our hometown favorite place. We love supporting small businesses over big corporations when we can. My latte was super good! Great espresso shot. And I also had the crustless quiche and it was delish. It fueled me just right for the rest of the trip! Aaannnnd. The artwork in here and the decor is phenomenal!! I love unique art and this place really pleases the eyes and soul. I really like the atmosphere of Firefly. However, pretty much every drink I've gotten has been sub-par. I ordered an iced chai tea latte one visit, and my first sip was straight powder. Their "Thai iced tea" tastes NOTHING like Thai tea. There's plenty of Thai restaurants in town (I.e Yummy Thai) where you can try the real deal and it's SO much better. I do like their breakfast sandwiches, though. read more

Stopped in last Saturday for some healthy lunchtime food on a recommendation from our son. I was greeted at the counter and I told the man that it was our first time there and that my son frequented them and told us to try it. He didn't seem very impressed.. but anyway we ordered... The lattes were okay.. The BLT egg salad sandwich that I ordered on Sourdough came on a thick 7 grain...I told them about it and they did offer to re-make it--but since it took quite a while to get our order, and we were very hungry, I just ate it sans the bread! The filling was good but not great.. Even though they did offer a re-make--they really were not very apologetic--you would think that knowing it was our first time there they would've been trying to make a better first impression! We also ordered a crustless ham/onion/cheese quiche which was very tasty, but only luke warm and a bit on the runny side. Overall--we are NOT compelled to go back--that is a shame, as we try to frequent local places! We also live on the other side of town but don't mind driving some distances to have an enjoyable dining experience....so had the service been more professional and friendly we would've definitely planned to go back to give them a second chance. read more
