Pretzel appetizer was superb with the cheese sauce and poppy dressing. Burgers were well cooked and tasty and the side salads were plentiful and nicely chilled. Will definitely be back.

My son and I had the smoked chicken sandwich, my daughter-in-law ordered the Bahn Mi and my husband ordered pastrami. Of course we all had to share and taste everything. We were visiting South Bend for a Notre Dame home game, and as you can imagine, finding a place to…read moreeat for a group of 8 after the game can be a struggle! We called Crooked Ewe, and they were kind enough to hold a table for us. As it turned out, the patio was perfect for a larger group on a Saturday evening. The atmosphere is laid-back and easygoing. Inside has that cozy, small-brewery feel, while the patio gives you a gorgeous view of the river. Our service was great - friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Overall, we really enjoyed the food, although I thought some of the Asian-inspired dishes could use a little refinement. I ordered the bibimbap bowl with fried cauliflower, cucumbers and onions, shredded carrots and daikon, and kimchi fried rice. The cauliflower was easily the star here! Though the fried rice and other accompaniments could use a bit more flavor and texture. That said, the BBQ was A+. I added a side of brisket, and it was probably some of the best brisket I've ever had. It's a thicker cut and melts in your mouth. My husband and FIL also raved about the wings. One thing to note for families: there isn't a kids menu, but my son was perfectly happy with a cheeseburger and fries. All in all, Crooked Ewe was a great find for our group. We'd definitely come back, especially for those wings and brisket!

First I had some pastrami egg rolls that are surprisingly delicious. Crispy on the outside and flavorful on the interior. The shrimp were very average and didn't seem freshly battered there. The sauce however was tangy, spicy and a perfect match for the crunchy shrimp. Jalapeño poppers were the star of the night here. Spicy, cheesy, and they come with a rugged texture on the surface. Ranch dressing was thick perfecting for dipping. The brisket macaroni and cheese was a bitter sweet experience. The meat was shredded and flavored. It honestly tastes more like pulled pork butt. That part was delicious. However, the macaroni has NO flavor or seasoning whatsoever. There's no cheese pull or roux to be found. I would not order it again. Overall this is a very friendly bar in a small town. So far it's number 2 in this area.
