Not the same Fire and Slice! I have been a customer at all 3 locations in Eureka, but I must say the quality now 08/29/24 is more miss than hit these days. The Hit: The mango habanero bone-in wings are great, just enough heat and sweetness to win over the most staunch wing connoisseur. The house salad with fresh veggies and wonderfully pickled beets were a treat for the eyes and pallette. The mozzarella sticks well are mozzarella sticks. They were perfectly cooked, crunchy and unbroken with the ooze of the cheese. The Miss: The cheese pizza with red sauce is usually a solid hit for the traditional pizza lovers. Usually the pizzas are cooked a bit light, but that is something for a dicernable connoisseur to fret over and easily fixed at home with 10 extra minutes in the oven. However I degress, it was requested to cook this pizza a bit extra, but it arrived and appeared near undone. The cheese texture is HORRIBLE, no matter how long it was reheated, the cheese never seemed to melt, and had a very bitter/sour taste. The cheese bread cheese was overall better but the over-saturation of garlic and garlic salt rendered the cheese bread bitter, horribly salty and unappealing. The red dipping sauce usually offsets the saltiness and bitterness however, the sauce appears to have been downgraded as well. The red dipping sauce tasted as if it were just poured out of a can and served. The tomato and bitterness shown through the red sauce as well. One last minor miss which hurt the otherwise spectacular wings was the ranch dipping sauce or lack there of! This may seem like a minor quip for many, but the offset texture of ranch against spicy, sweet crunchy wings is a thing of beauty, but to run out after 4 wings is a bit much. It is not an over indulgence on my part over a half serving of ranch in the cup, literally half, which woefully denies the complexity of tastes too their full virtue. So 2 stars, this order feels as though Fire and Slices standards have fallen a bit to far for today's competition and price points. Attached is a picture of the pizza after it was cooked a bit longer, even extra and you can see the cheese problem I spoke about in the review. UPDATE: The manager has informed us of a temporary distribution issue they are currently experiencing. Today's pizza was made with a substitute cheese from the distribution center due to the center running out if their regular cheese. We have been credited with a pizza gift card which will replace the cheese knockoff. The manager was very pleasent and we will try the pizza again in 2 weeks. I used to love this place. I used to take people visiting from out of town here proudly. If I pulled my credit card statement from last year, I would probably not be shocked to see that I spent in the neighborhood of $3,000 - $3,500 here last year, easily. Because it used to be pretty good. But... as a local, I've given up, and it takes A LOT for me to say that. I LOVE and appreciate our local businesses. But I will never go here again. The most recent: Ordered Salad with extra dressing - received - salad with zero dressing, much less extra dressing (but still paid for it, of course) Ordered boneless wings with ranch dressing - received zero dressing (but paid for it) Ordered a pizza with mushrooms and olives - received zero mushrooms or olives (but still paid for them) Ordered an extra side of Ranch - received no side of ranch (but still paid for it) Again, this is one order, but pretty much representative of the last 5 orders, except for the previous in-house time we ate, in which the order screw-up was even worse. Great "4-corners" location with outdoor seating that was nicely decorated. Friendly, helpful, and engaging staff made my visit worthwhile. The menu had a diverse selection of fairly typical items. I chose the Summer Salad of figs, blue cheese, candied pecans, & vinaigrette served over over baby lettuces. It was the right choice of ingredients but the ratio was off (for me) and it ended up being more of a very large dessert than a light meal. That said, because they put the dressing on the side, I was able to portion the salad to my liking and I really appreciate this option! I chose the (fried) chicken wings to accompany the salad. The crisp wings were nicely coated (not overly sauced) with the golden bbq sauce - delicious! Not oily at all and very nice. I particularly appreciated the crisp celery and carrots - very fresh! This place was recommended to me by the staff at the hotel where I was staying. I reviewed the menu online, and I was excited because of the gluten free pizza and the bone in wings are cooked in their own fryer. My biggest complaint was that everything took a really long time. I understand the place was short on staff, but I think the staff also played a part. This spot is definitely a local place, and the servers spend a lot of time helping tables where they know people. If you're out of town or not familiar with the staff, don't expect to get served. It took a long time to have water brought to my table, it took a long time to have my order taken, and then I waited over 50 minutes to have food brought out. I was by myself and was texting some friends, which is how I was able to keep tabs on how much time had passed. I understand servers are busy and have to help a lot of people, but it's really frustrating when you ask for something like water, and then the server spends 10 minutes talking to friends, and then the server completely forgets you wanted a refill. As for the food, I wasn't too impressed. It might be because of the service I received, but my impression was "I waited almost an hour for this? Why?!" The wings were kind of soggy and had feathers still on the wing. To me, that's gross. And the pizza was undercooked. I had waited so long for my food that I was afraid to have the servers take it back. So I only ate a slice, and I didn't bother to take it home as leftovers. It was such a waste. read more

We have ordered out here quite a bit and 80% of the time they screw up our order in one way or another. The last time they forgot or "didn't hear" that I had ordered a salad. I called, said we didn't get our salad, "oh yeah it's sitting here". My wife shows up to get it and tried to explain to them this happens a lot. Stopped by Fire and Slice while visiting Eureka for a wedding. I had their chicken white sauce pizza - it was SO GOOD! A complex blend of cheeses combined with the chicken and caramelized onions made it the perfect comfort food with just the right amount of zing. It was the kind of quality you would expect in a big city, not a small town. But the salad was what really blew my mind. Their Greek salad was crisp, fresh, and colorful. So refreshing! I've eaten ALOT of pizza (one of my nicknames is uncle pizza) and I have to say fire and and slice delivers one of if not the best pizza I have ever eaten. Their wood fired crust has a nice crisp but yet a great chew as well, combine that with a great flavorful tomato sauce and lots of great toppings for a fantastic pizza. I have tried almost all of the different pizzas and I have thoroughly enjoyed them all, but my go to is the bacon margarita ! You should of course start with some of their tasty wings. Some great flavor combinations both wet and dry I think my favorite are the garlic Parmesan. Along with great food is the great service. All the beer perfectly accompanied any pizza. I really liked the Cold Smoke Brew out of the Kettle House brewery in Missoula Mo. We happened to perfectly pair it with the Bacon Margarita Pizza. I was excited to visit this pizza place in Eureka, this week. One of our group went into the restaurant and after sitting for over 25 minutes, with three hungry little ones, finally had their order taken. We ordered over the phone and was told that our order would be ready in forty-five minutes. Over an hour later, the order was finally ready. When we arrived home with it, we realized they had forgotten to give us part of the order. A phone call revealed that we were correct, but no apology was forthcoming from them. "They weren't ready when you got the the order." Was the reasoning. We let them know we were coming back to get them. Upon arrival, the wings were cold, feeling like they had been in the fridge. "Well, it has been over an hour." The reply was when we questioned that. Seeing as the order had been picked up only 15 minutes previously, something was off. We took our frigid wings and went home. The pizza was tasty, but the service was so underwhelming and totally frustrating that I don't know that I would ever visit again. I love supporting local businesses, but this one needs some tweaking. A simple apology for the mistakes they made would have made it so much more enjoyable. (Update: The owner/manager did get back with us, apologizing as they had an unexpected work load and young crew. I will plan on giving them another try). read more

First, they have a very friendly staff. The wood fired pizza is off the hook. There is a good variety of specialty pizzas with house made sauces.
