Ipa pint, Saison, imperial spa, hop it, porter

I'm here right now! What a fantastic brewery. We ordered pints and a flight. Every beer is extremely well crafted. I'm an IPA girl and enjoyed the IPA. Also loved the Saison and porter. The imperial IPA is super chocolate forward without being sweet (and dangerous at 9%!!!). There is a wood fire pizza place here that we're waiting on an order from. I've heard great things. You can get free pretzels at the bar. Love that! The atmosphere is top notch. Homey but nice, great outdoor area with a fun play spot for kids (tire swing and a slide!) Basically, it's like you're at a farm and there's beer and pizza. So... Heaven.

Brewery front with the most modest of modest beer gardens, but hey, having a modest beer garden is better than no beer garden.

Tucked away, 2 1/2 miles up Grave Creek Road, in the northwest corner of northwest Montana you will find, in this most unlikely place, a jewel of a craft brewery called Homestead Ales and it quickly became one of my favorite breweries in the state. The tap room was much larger than I had expected and very inviting. The staff is friendly and helpful and on this particular evening one of the owners/brewers, Chris Neill, happened to be there and mingled with the crowd making sure everyone was happy and enjoying their beer selection. The beer selection. Currently, there are 5 on tap (see photo for stats): Blonde, Pale Ale, Brown, Stout, and, I'm happy to say, a Montana Brewers Association Gold Medal winning IPA. I'm not a fan of the bitter IPA's, but this one is even a winner with me. I would normally say that if you happen to be in the area stop in for a pint or two, but with HA) I'm going to say make a special trip. I took the chance and made the special trip of driving 50 miles to check this place out and I will make that special trip many more times in the future.

The little town of Eureka, Montana has a hidden gem in the craft beer world. Quaint, rustic outdoor brewery with an amazing food truck from local chef. We ordered a wood fired pizza that was so flavorful we wanted more. We drooled over ever dish that was delivered. Fresh produce, greens, etc makes one wish for more. Beer...well..yum..From ipa, wheat, etc..all well crafted...a must stop!...oh..and bombastic, homemade lemonade! :-)

Take a drive just outside of Eureka to enjoy this fine brewery. Warm and welcoming with a great selection of brews. We enjoyed a flight so we could test out four of the beers. The Irish Red was dark and full body, by far my favorite. The porter was Hubbies favorite which he decided to leave with a crawler for later.

Cool place off the beaten path. Very much a homestead feel. Looks like a shack from the outside, but inside is very nicely done. Jazz standard on the speakers, French spoken as the first language behind the counter, very cool vibe. Enjoyed the Saison but was convinced to try Ingrid, the Belguim Trippel. I resisted because I'm typically not a fan of wine barrel aged beers. She insisted I try and I'm glad she did - I ordered a glass. My wife, who isn't a beer drinker, opted for the homemade lemonade. They also have a partnership with Eureka Jax (pretty sure same as the excellent Cafe Jax back in town) which had a food truck set up in the parking lot.

I also enjoy most anything else. You can not go wrong on their beer. Solid choices. I would say Blackstar has one of the best if not best burgers in the valley. The pizza sandwiches when they have them are excellent. My kids love the pizza and I do too. The chicken sandwich is also a solid hit. You will go up the line to order or use the QR code at the table to order. Some things come out sooner than others but the runner do a good job of getting what you need. Rarely do you find a spot that has great beer and great food, but Backslope does both But if you read my reviews, you know I like to steer you through the menu, at least what we tried. Foreman's Stout - full bodied, delicious. Ginger/Lemonade - refreshing, sooooo GOOD. House Fries - sliced as chips, but so good. Hummus - great consistency, but needed some citrus to finish it off. Still good, but I am picky about hummus. Tzatziki sauce - incredible, delicious, get this. Pecan Salad with Chicken - HOLY SMOKES, my wife loved this dish. She made me come back another time just so she vould have it again. Gyro Platter - light on the chicken, but really delicious. It was enough for two or more meals. Gyro - so full I could not fit it into my mouth. But enough for two. Really great find,

It might have been because it was some sort of a trivia night and they seemed quite busy with a regular crowd that was there. However, I did stay and I ended up ordering the ginger bowl 2.0 along with a hummus plate and I was very, very surprised as how good it all was. In fact "excellent " tells it all. I would definitely come back just for those two selections alone. Not at all what I would've expected in a "bar" in Columbia Falls, Montana. Some Asian choices, some Middle Eastern choices, some American choices on the menu and more. I was very impressed with just the two that I got so I want to come back and try again. The ambience was rather an open environment, wood chairs, wood tables, no booths, but comfortable and had more of that "bar" feel to it but there were kids there so families were welcome
