Jeff's team was amazing to work with for our wedding in Gilroy! We struggled looking for a cater that would cater to our custom needs...cook onsite, waiters, buffet style and elegant for an outdoor ranch wedding & his team did just that!! His team was professional, knowledgeable and polite to our guests..the food was delicious and flavorful..the bride and groom even had they're own assigned waiter throughout the whole day which I thought was very unique & special!! The staff passed out appetizers to our guest during cocktail hour... they provided all the china, helped with set up, cleaned up/trash, and even cut our cake! I will definitely be using Jeff for future events and recommend him to all my friends & family. Thank you Jeff and his team for all your hard work and making our wedding day special! read more

Jeff and his team are amazing! They catered our August wedding and we had so many guests rave about how delicious the food was! We met with Jeff in-person to go over the menu and he answered all the questions we had. He even overlooked our day-of timeline to make sure we would stay on track. His sense of humor always lightened up the room, truly felt like we've known him for years! His staff made sure the bride and groom were well fed (despite us running around like chickens with our heads cut off) and always made sure we stayed hydrated with water. They even packed away our leftover food into to-go containers since we were unable to truly sit down and enjoy it. It was still delicious the next day and steak was sooo tender. Thank you Fire 4 Hire!!! read more

Fire 4 Hire is a dream come true. We had our wedding on August 25, 2024 and they smashed it out of the park. They are super professional and their food is to die for. They don't do tastings before the big day, but take it from me, everything on their menu is worth it. We even had a few vegan guests, and they delivered amazing food that they enjoyed. Absolutely phenomenal!! My husband and I worked with Jeff and his team for our wedding day - a huge backyard reception with 260 guests. Throughout the entire process of working with Jeff, we were absolutely blown away by his professionalism, experience, and communication. He was vital in helping us design a floor plan that allowed 250+ people to easily move around and get their food without lines all night; his team worked seamlessly and many of our guests raved about the food (which was delicious and so fresh!) We had plenty of options to select from, and Jeff's team was so flexible in accommodating a few last-minute dietary restrictions. My husband and I got married on June 15th, 2024, at a home residence, and as vegans, we wanted an all-vegan wedding. We spoke with Jeff, who assured us he could deliver, and he certainly did! The food was phenomenal and impressed all our guests, many of whom had never tried vegan food before. The appetizers included crispy spring rolls, stuffed mushrooms, and fresh dips with crudités. For dinner, we enjoyed a Mixed Field Greens salad, Spaghetti with Vegan Meatballs, and Black Sheep Farms Enchiladas. The side dishes of Grilled Vegetables and Haricot Verts were perfectly prepared and flavorful. The next day's vegan brunch was equally delightful, featuring fluffy French toast, just egg frittata, vegan sausages and delicious omelets.. Jeff's professionalism, attention to detail, and culinary expertise made our wedding unforgettable. We highly recommend Jeff for any event. Thank you, Jeff, for making our wedding weekend a culinary dream come true! read more

I had the great fortune of attending a wedding today that was catered by " Fire 4 Hire Catering". Where to start? They arrive with a professional stove and enough staff to serve almost 130 people at today's event. The owner and perhaps a dozen members of his talented staff were there. Plentiful treats to eat each as good as you can imagine. Lovely to look at and better to eat. They served a fantastic multi-course meal for a large crowd and made it look effortless. Well done 4 Hire Catering...well done. If you have an event in the South Bay...I cannot imagine how you could hope to find a better catering company. This is yet another case where the 5-STAR reviews are the real deal. read more

Jeff is our superhero! We had a wedding recently at Guglielmo Winery. We had before the pandemic a catering set up with another vendor. When it came time to visit them again a year later we were not impressed. So Guglielmo reached out to Jeff. Now they don't do tastings, but under the circumstances he made it happen. And OH MY GOD! Everything he makes is mouth watering! The seasoned Tri-Tip to the mashed potatoes (My wife and I couldn't get enough). Normally the bride and groom don't eat as much during their wedding but we ate seconds. Especially those two items. Let me put it to you this way... we went to a FIVE STAR resort on our honeymoon. The romantic meal came with mashed potatoes. We both said, "I wished this was Jeff mashed potatoes." We really recommend them. We want to find ways to have them serve us again! Best food ever! FIRE FOR HIRE is the only way to go! Thank you Jeff!!! read more

Jeff and his team at Fire 4 Hire are absolutely amazing. We held a celebration of life event this past July for a beloved family member who passed away a few months prior and decided on a reception of a passed appetizers option after consulting with Jeff multiple times in preparation. Jeff was compassionate, provided multiple options to customize our preferences and made a special effort to take any pressure off me/family at this time and setup everything. The staff was gracious, timely, professional and the food was amazing. We used Jeff to cater our office "Christmas" party that had to be rescheduled due to COVID. We were a group of 19, and had the BEST time. Jeff showed up and cooked right on-site at the house. We had hors d'oeuvres passed around while we all mingled. The Brie crostini and lamb lollipops were amazing. I can not recommend the beef short rib enough. It was probably the best piece of meat I have ever had! So tender, and the gravy that was served with it was delicious. We had one staff member who normally doesn't eat meat, and she cant stop raving about the short rib. She asked if Jeff has a restaurant so she can order more! LOL. We will use Jeff again for our staff parties. Dont look anywhere else, this is your guy! read more

We are very big foodies and Jeff made a menu that showed our flair along with what him and his team can do . We are very grateful to Jeff and his team for catering a delicious lunch for my husband's 50th Birthday party this past Sunday at Satori Cellars. All our guests (kids & adults) enjoyed the delicious spread of food prepared by Fire 4 Hire! We received so many comments about how delicious everything tasted! The experience working with Jeff leading up to the event was very positive and stress-free for me. He took the time to understand the purpose of the event, the location, desired timing and party logistics, and worked with me to put together a fabulous menu of delicious appetizers (we love the seared ahi tuna and vegetable potstickers), and savory entrees (Mahi-mahi with basil cream sauce & Tri-tip) with very satisfying sides (couscous, saffron rice, caramelized carrots, and garlic bread). All highly recommended. The Fire 4 Hire team also worked well together with the winery and the staffers helped us setup our tables and served the guests well! We are extremely delighted to have experienced such good service and excellent food! Thank you, Jeff and Team, for helping to make this event memorable for us and our guests! read more

I recently hired Fire4Hire for a 60th birthday event in a remote spot (airplane hangar) for 60 people. I'm a marketing professional, have done many large corporate and sales events throughout my career, so feel have a a decent background in hiring catering. Jeff (owner) was easy to work with, and pricing reasonable. His team showed up when they were supposed too. We're flexible and nice to work with. I got a TON of positive feedback on the food. They packed up and hauled it all away. I would highly suggest the brisket, bacon, jalapeños appetizer AND tri-tip for the main. They charge per person, people able to go back for seconds, etc. they make more food to ensure guests get what they need. All extra food is taken away. I would hire them again. Solid on all fronts. read more

My company hired Fire 4 Hire Catering for a luncheon and everyone loved the food. I first experienced Fire 4 Hire at a wedding I attended, so I did not hesitate to recommend Fire 4 Hire when my mother asked me for catering suggestions. The tortellini is fabulous. Jeff is very responsive and very helpful in creating the perfect menu that would appeal to the guests. It worked well with our budget, too. His team is great to work with all together. They arrived a bit earlier before their given ETA to get a start on set up. Fire 4 Hire cooks on-site (in the parking lot), so the food is hot! They bring all the serving utensils, tables, table cloths, and warmers they need for the buffet. They also brought disposable plates, utensils, and drinks in a cooler. Because they bring everything they need for their own set up, you have one less thing to worry about in planning an event. Thanks Fire 4 Hire! read more

We used Fire4Hire at our August wedding at Kirigin Cellars. Leading up to the wedding, we told the coordinators at Kirigin that we would be using Jeff with Fire4Hire for the catering. They immediately exclaimed "Oooh, we love Jeff! His food is amazing!" It was so reassuring to hear. Jeff was always a pleasure to talk to throughout the coordination leading up to the wedding. What really stood out to us was on the day of the wedding, Jeff made sure a specific waiter constantly checked in on us during photos and dinner to see if we needed anything to drink/appetizers and brought out our salad and entree to us while everyone was in line for the buffet. If not for this, we probably wouldn't have eaten anything the entire night which would have been a shame because the food was delicious! Jeff really made it a point to make sure my husband and I were taken care of and we are so appreciative of that. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Jeff and his team catered our wedding on 11/6/21 at a private residence. Due to the pandemic we didn't have a chance to do a tasting with Jeff but man...the food he cooked went above and beyond what my husband and I had envisioned. Jeff is so personable and makes you feel very comfortable all the up to your big event. We had some of the best tri-tip, lemon chicken and mashed potatoes we had ever had. Fire 4 Hire catered my wedding at Kirigin Cellars. I could not be happier with the food (quality, taste, execution) and the staff. Jeff was incredible to work with and his staff were professional, safe (Hello, COVID), and attentive. I got tons of compliments on the food from family and friends and while I didn't eat much at the actual wedding, Jeff packed me up a doggy bag and I absolutely crushed the mashed potatoes when I got back to the hotel. I had to change my wedding plans numerous times because of COVID and our current plan was to have the wedding on a small scale and to throw a big party in 2021 when things calm down. The quality of food, flavor and preparation would receive an easy 5 stars from me - it was very well done. The unfortunate 2 star review is based upon my experience with how our wedding meal was executed, the small portion sizes served and the lack of care and professionalism shown. For our wedding, we elected to have family-style service rather than buffet style or plated. We communicated this desire to Jeff a year in advance when we booked Fire 4 Hire. Family-style service was charged at a premium due to the extra resources and additional time needed to serve as such - a very standard practice. Our expectation was that the meal would be brought out to each table at once so that food could be passed and enjoyed together - the very definition of a family-style meal. Instead, what happened was very much the opposite. One small side dish would come out and make it half way around a table before it was empty (no one had heaping servings either). 5+ minutes later another different side dish would come out and make it half way around the table, then so on. Finally following the side dishes, 10-15 minutes later the proteins made their way out. At this point, so much time had passed between dishes being served that the meal could not be enjoyed as a "meal" and we watched guests eat just the mashed potatoes, then wait for the next item to come out, then eat just the grilled veggies that came out, then wait for the next item - as though each side dish was served as its own course. As the server would bring a new dish, guests were asking for more of the first dish that never made its way around the table and were told that "second helpings were not going to be brought out yet." In my opinion, it is not a second helping if half the table did not get any to begin with. The worst part of the experience was hearing multiple guests (those who were comfortable telling us) share that they left the wedding hungry because we ran out of food - we were mortified. Given that we ended up having 17 no-shows, there should have been plenty to go around. There were a number of other small hiccups (i.e. they forgot beverage dispensers for the iced tea, lemonade, etc.), but those minor items paled in comparison to the above. They were not the real issue and what wedding doesn't have a hiccup or two? When I brought my biggest concerns to Fire 4 Hire's attention and proposed a nominal refund, I was told that they would review and get back to me soon. Five months have passed and I have sent 4 follow-up emails that have all gone unanswered. I hate to write a negative review, but we do not feel that Fire 4 Hire delivered on the service that we paid for, nor did they exercise professionalism or courtesy when approached with our feedback and request. Unfortunately, I can not recommend this organization based upon our experience. read more

After finding that there was not one negative review anywhere, we hired Fire 4 Hire originally for our wedding in June. The reviews indicated that this was as perfect as catering could get. Jeff was professional and detail-oriented as we planned our wedding menu. As our wedding date came closer, we realized the pandemic wasn't allowing us the wedding we hoped for. We discussed catering, and after another idea fell through, we came back to Jeff at Fire 4 Hire. He made sure we felt comfortable with the Coronavirus modifications. When we came across Jeff last year, we were impressed by the quality of the food, appetizers, servers and attention to detail. What set Fire 4 Hire apart from others was the customizable meals for dietary restrictions. As a vegan, I come prepared to not eat much of what's provided at events, but given I was the bride, I wanted to eat! Jeff made sure my plate was generous, as well as delicious. He also customized other plates, one for my diabetic grandfather and ones for several other vegetarian guests. He made sure to ask questions about guests and necessary changes that needed to be made. Our wedding wasn't what it was supposed to be this year, but we are so glad that we hired Jeff for not just this wedding but our upcoming one next June! Our guests were happy with the food as well, delighted by portions and no one went hungry. We wouldn't hesitate to ask Fire 4 Hire to cater another event, thank you again Jeff and your staff! read more
