We hired Taquero Carilllo for my Nana's surprise 90th birthday party. It made the event so much easier and enjoyable for me as the host. Joe was great to work with, very easy to reach and quick to answer questions. The menu offered was perfect for what we were looking for. Pricing was fair, set up was fast & the food was delicious. Everyone loved it so much we barely had spec left! People were having 2nds and 3rds. My 4 year old couldn't get ger tacos fast enough - the kids loves it! Most importantly the birthday girl loved it and was really happy with the food and party. We went with chips, salsa, guac, taco's (carne asada and chicken), rice & beans. Joe offered to make quesadillas for those that wanted them, which was a nice extra touch. The watermelon Agua fresca was also refreshing and a great add on. I would provide a headcount with a little extra wiggle room, worse case you have left overs which is always a plus. =) Have containers on hand to provide Joe before you eat so once they're done they can easily pack it up for you & you don't have to scramble looking for containers during your party. We wanted a taco caterer for our toddlers' birthday party. I found Taquero Carrillo via Yelp. Jose, the owner, responded promptly, and pricing was reasonable. He checked in a few days before the party to finalize the details. They came an hour early to set up for the party and threw in free horchata. They packed all the leftovers for us. Both people who came were friendly and champs because the heat was a scorcher that day. My only complaint is that I should've asked for the minimum number of people during the initial inquiry b/c I found out it was 60 people minimum a couple of days before the event. Food is amazing! My son had 14 tacos!!! They usually provide a service where they cook tacos to order. I wanted more of a drop off service, since I wanted to use my own cáselas. The guys were super nice, on time and everyone was super full. Since it was a drop off service, makes a bit of a line. So it might be better to get the full service. If you go with taquero carillo, make sure to verify they are the ones that are actually serving your party, i booked them for a party and they subcontracted someone else without letting me know and the food was not worth the 800$ i paid i also didn't find out till months later when i made a comment on a post I was so disappointed. We hired taquero carillo for my son's birthday party and were very pleased with the results. He and his partner came to set up very early and were very efficient with their cooking time. The meat (carne Asada, al pastor, chicken) was very well seasoned which made for great tasting tacos! The chicken was our favorite! Our guests enjoyed everything! We first tried Taquero Carrillo in Gilroy at a Gilroy browns cheer fundraiser and they were delicious! So I got there card and later booked them for a graduation party, they came in a timely fashion and set up not needing anything from us since we were so busy preparing everything for the party. Taquero Carrillo was a big help really took a lot of the stress of the event off my shoulders one less thing to worry about they brought there own plates napkins and forks for all my guest the food was amazing and we had plenty of left overs that they packed up nicely in foil tray for us to serve buffet style even after they left. I called for a quote and I told him 50 people. I wanted to book for 40 people but then was told 60 people minimum. Problem with that, half of the people are kids and not all eat tacos.
