Sushi was pretty good! Small place to eat and one server for all the tables Friend had the beef fried rice and it had zero flavor. I had the yuki noodles with shrimp and same no flavor. Might go back for sushi but definitely not impressed with the rest.

Quiet and unassuming, this gem is hidden in plain sight. Simple small layout with plenty of seating. Service is eager and prompt. The food is spectacular! Gyoza comes with a unique sauce that's reminiscent of honey and umami. Tuna, salmon, and even the Avocado had excellent presentation and taste! I just found a new sushi go to right here in Waltham!!!

Love love love Fin's. The first thing I have to say is that it is small and scrupulously clean. The tables were not full on this Sunday night, but the Uber Eats drivers were in and out constantly. The fresh spring roll appetizer is fabulous. Fresh and flavorful. The basil just jumps out at you. I could eat this every night. The miso soup was electricity but different than usual. It had a smoky flavor that I adored. Not the stuff of a typical American Japanese style restaurant. I had Fin's Don which is a bowl of rice covered in a variety of sashimi. Donburi is one of my favorite dishes. This was executed perfectly with lots of choices. I like the balance of flavors. My wife's grilled salmon with salad was enormous! Cooked to just the right doneness. As you can tell, I really enjoyed it.

What a cute restaurant with delicious food! It's a bit unassuming from the outside along a busy street, but Fin's has a bright, open atmosphere inside. We enjoyed lunch on a late Sunday afternoon and highly recommend the beef fried rice, Chirashi sushi bowl, and the tuna poke bowl. The poke bowl was a unique and deliciously fun surprise with strawberries, mango, and avocado. The bowls came with miso soup, and everything was fresh and yummy. Great find in a busy neighborhood and close to 95.

Delicious, fresh sushi! Came here for lunch and had a lunch special. It was a great deal! If I'm in the area I will definitely come back!

Absolutely love Fin's Sushi and Grill! Have gotten takeout from here multiple times, and keep coming back because of how delicious/fresh the sushi is, how quick the food is ready, and how polite the staff have been. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a good sushi restaurant in the Waltham area.

No one does sushi in this area better than Fin's. I've gone dozens of times and am always impressed. Typically I get take out but the restaurant is clean and comfortable, and the service for dining is great as well.

Came for the first time on Valentine's Day, and they were super busy (dine in & takeout) which was great to see! We made a reservation & definitely needed one. They sat us right away, & when they sat us they told us they were busy and the wait was longer than usual but we were in no rush! The staff was super friendly, and the food was DELICIOUS. Already want to go back.

Thanks (once again) to my fellow Yelpers and their accurate reviews which brought us here for dinner tonight. Staying in Waltham for the night and wanted sushi...this place stood out. Located in a small strip mall with some parking on premise, which we lucked out as I thought we would have to deal with street parking. Arrived just after 7pm and it was good sign to see 3 tables with patrons and about a handful of people waiting for takeout. Our server advised when we sat down that the sushi chefs are quite busy and any order from there would take 20 minutes, totally appreciate the info upfront! I liked the offer of hot water, which helped as my tummy was not 100%. Ordered fresh roll (more Viet style than Japanese...) and vegetable udon for my 9 yr old and I still opted for the Fin's Don. Udon noodle was cooked perfectly and the broth was perfect in flavour and enjoyed the variety of greens offered in the bowl! Was not particularly pleased with the fresh rolls as they were underwhelming but my kid enjoyed them, which that's what counts! Now for the pièce de resistance...I like to have uni from a sushi place as a tester: if the uni is good, that sets the tone for the rest of the fish...and Fin's delivered! The uni were fresh looking as well in taste which echoed in the other sashimi in the bowl. Would definitely dine here again should the opportunity presents itself in the future!

Came here for dinner the other day with a friend & we did walk-in. We were able to get seated at the bar immediately. Though the restaurant was essentially empty at the time & there looked like many tables available, I guess they block them off for reservations only? Ended up being a full house by the time we finished our meal! There were so many unique options to choose from but we ended up getting the following: -tuna tacos -6 nigiris (2 otoro, 2 yellowtail, & 2 black bass) -phoenix roll -southside roll -lychee martini -"I trust the nanny" drink Take out order (after our meal): -nor'easter roll -spicy tiger roll -chutoro tuna w/ chives roll -4 otoro nigiris The fish tasted super fresh! Rolls were all very flavorful too! All of the rolls we ordered all had hints of spice & microgreens, which normally I wouldn't care for in my rolls but they managed to make it work well! My favorites from the dinner were the otoro nigiri & the phoenix roll! I love otoro & I love a torched salmon moment hehe, so though I enjoyed everything we ordered, those two were my personal favorites. I wish I had known about SushiCo sooner but I'm happy I was able to visit! Will definitely be back again for more sushi... much better than many of the "high-end" sushi restaurants in Boston (i.e. O ya, Oishii, Zuma, etc) in my opinion! Prices are higher than your typical neighborhood sushi joint BUT the quality is amazing & worth the coin! Parking: street parking

You always remember your first, and while Shogun doesn't have the distinction of being the first piece of sushi I ever tried, it is the first sushi restaurant I was taken to when I asked my parents for more. I couldn't have known how lucky I was at the time. It's simple, friendly interior. The comfort of its space, small without being cramped, cozy without being claustrophobic. Years later, when I visited Japan for the first time, I would realize that it was simply authentically Japanese. And the sushi! I've been to Japan, I live in California, but to this day it is the standard to which I judge every piece of sushi I eat. The fish was always fresh and flavorful, the rice perfectly seasoned, and they had bar none the best spicy mayo I have ever tasted. Seriously, the spicy scallop gunkan was the greatest thing I have ever had the pleasure to eat. If you never ordered the spicy tuna salad appetizer, I am so sorry you missed out. This brings us to the real heart of Shogun for me: Ito-San. Jiro may dream of sushi, but I dream of Ito-san's sushi. From the first moment I stepped in the door in the mid 90's to the last time I was able to stop by in 2023, Ito was there. The incredible kindness he showed me for nearly 3 decades of my life is not to be undersold. As he watched me go through countless milestones in my own life, he also shared his and his families own. Even if his sushi was lousy he would have still been one of my favorite people on this planet. But of course, his sushi was top class. This is starting to feel like a eulogy, and as far as I know no one has died. But something has been lost. Perhaps to you it was just a restaurant. But to me, Shogun Sushi was a revelation, and an institution, and a place of intense nostalgia. Knowing I can never go back is deeply saddening. At the same time, I sincerely wish Ito-San and the rest of the staff a well earned retirement. If any of you are reading this, I hope you know that every time I eat sushi I will be thinking of your restaurant, and everything it meant to me.
