I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Nickel and his entire team. From the very beginning,…read moreDr. Nickel was an incredible communicator--personable, kind, and always willing to answer every single question I had. He made me feel comfortable and confident throughout my pregnancy, which is something I am beyond grateful for. When it came time for delivery, my baby had other plans and I ended up needing a C-section. Thankfully, Dr. Nickel had already taken the time to explain everything to me beforehand so that when the moment came, it wasn't scary or rushed. Because of his preparation and clear communication, my C-section went smoothly and I truly could not have asked for a better experience. Leading up to delivery & after delivery I appreciated his check ins, it was nice to see a friendly face around! The nurses and staff at his practice are also absolutely outstanding. They were so kind, attentive, and just wonderful to be around--it really makes all the difference. Nurses and doctors can truly make or break your experience, and I feel so lucky to have had such an amazing team by my side. Truly one of the best. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Dr. Nickel and the nurses made what could have been a stressful situation into something positive and reassuring, and I will always be thankful for the outstanding care I received. I would recommend him to anyone!

After having a really negative experience with my 8 week ultrasound, I switched facilities entirely…read moreand tried Franciscan Women's Health at St. Joe's for my 20 week scan. I am so glad I did. This is the ultrasound experience all pregnant people deserve. After parking in a free spot in the garage, we followed clear directions to the clean, well-lit lobby space and checked in with a friendly, highly competent staff member who got us into a room with no wait. Vitals were taken by a friendly and thoughtful nurse and then we were walked to an ultrasound room with no wait. The technician was superb - clearly narrating every step of the process, checking in to see if we had any questions, asking appropriate questions of us, and offering to take another photo of our choice since we had time left at the end of the required scan elements. The doctor then came in within three minutes and acted patient and interested - not as if he were impatient. He went through the results clearly and respectfully and again welcomed questions. I was 100% satisfied and would recommend to any person seeking a prenatal ultrasound.

This review is specifically for Julie Dybro--the other practitioners there seem fine, but she is…read morethe one I had to see for my specific complaints. I spent over a year trying to get Dr. Dybro to take seriously my complaints of menstrual irregularity with extreme pain during menstruation. I was in my 30s, young for perimenopause. I thought I might have endometriosis. She thought I had PCOS, which test results did not support. She stood by her diagnosis because she discriminated against my body type--I have always had visceral body fat, as do most people in my family. It's our genetics. She couldn't see past that and was counseling me to develop an eating disorder: things she actually told me: "Maybe you should stop eating fruit" when I told her I was already eating a low-glycemic diet, and "It's pretty normal for women your age to be in pain." Eventually I prevailed and got an ultrasound. It showed that I had endometrial cancer. I needed emergency surgery, but I luckily caught it before it had spread to other organs. I can't even imagine what would have happened if I hadn't kept fighting for appropriate care. I started going to this clinic because I heard they were queer friendly. That may be, but they need to seriously hold Dr. Dybro accountable for rampant fatphobia (I was a size 14 at the time of treatment, I can't even imagine how larger people were treated). No one else should live with excruciating pain that turns out to be cancer for over a year because she thinks they're just eating too much fruit and their pain is "normal."
