My husband and I were having stomach pain and bloating for a while and her food allergy test + natural supplements helped us feel much better and loose weight. It's true that years ago the front desk gal wasn't very organized or friendly, and I have had to play phone tag with her insurance guy a few times. But honestly there's ALWAYS delays in medical insurance, and I've had way worse problems at other doctors' offices. The medical field is just a tad disorganized overall. BUT, they've upgraded to a well organized, quirky woman for the front desk. I've been through several insurance providers over that time and our coverage has varied but I've kept going to Nature Family Medicine even if it means paying a little more out of pocket. I was referred to Dr. de la Torre by friends and couldn't have been more happy with her care. She answered my long lists of first-time mama questions expertly and patiently; I felt like I could talk to her about everything! She also engaged my husband, so he never felt like an outsider. We always felt respected when seeing her and our visits were never rushed. I even looked forward to them! The most pivotal moment in my son's life came when, in my last week of pregnancy, Dr. de la Torre decided to do one last ultrasound. It isn't common, but she just felt like she wanted to have another peek at the baby. At that ultrasound, we discovered a cyst in my son's brain that required monitoring -- and ultimately, neurosurgery when he was six months old. Perhaps it was a fluke that she ordered the ultrasound at that point, or perhaps she was amazingly attuned. In any case, it saved my baby from a stroke, seizure and/or brain damage -- which our doctors said would've likely occurred without intervention. Needless to say, we are profoundly grateful. My son is fine now, and Dr. de la Torre always asks for updates -- her interest and caring continuing long past the point of his birth. She was very professional, on time, easy to talk to, very knowledgeable and made me feel at ease. She did not rush, took time to talk and honestly I've never felt so comfortable taking to a doctor about symptoms or concerns however minor they may be. And to add to that the pap smear and exam were the least uncomfortable I've had in a long time. I would feel very comfortable recommending her to others and to have her being my doctor when i got pregnant. I actually felt confident in her and am glad i can trust her with any health issues if they should arise. This is important as i usually am in great health but did have a minor issue earlier and visited a few doctors, none of whom inspired the same confidence. Totally unrelated, but if it matters to you, i am glad shes not very old, so i know she will be around for all my pregnancies and baby visits! If you park in one of the lots there are a few designated spots for this clinic and they (they clinic) ask you to give them your vehicle info when you come in so they know you are parked there. That is probably the only sort of unusual thing about this clinic. Staff is very friendly and professional and everyone here will go out of their way to help you to the best of their ability.
