Me and Birdie comparing our watches.
Mark M.

Fantastic service at Fink's Jewelers I learned about Fink's Jewelers over a year ago when I was in the market for a Rolex Explorer. I never owned a Rolex and decided I wanted to buy one from an authorized dealer, (AD). I knew finding an Explorer was difficult because Rolex sports and professional models are in high demand. Wait time was allegedly one year or more. I telephoned several fine jewelry & watch retailers and was assured my name would be placed on their waiting list. A few months later I heard back from only one authorized dealer, Tracy (Birdie) McCrea at Fink's Jewelers in the SouthPark Mall, Charlotte, North Carolina. "Still interested in an Explorer?" Birdie asked. "Absolutely," I replied. A few days later I drove to the mall and came home with a new Explorer on my wrist. However, the story doesn't end there. Almost a year later I decided to buy another iconic timepiece, a Rolex Submariner. Again, finding one would be a long shot. Research revealed new Submariners are scarce and Rolex distributes them only infrequently to AD's. I again called Birdie and told her what I wanted. I explained I was willing to wait as long as necessary. Birdie said she would try and we had a conversation about how unpredictable it is determining a timeframe for availability. I thought for sure it would be a year or more or perhaps never at all. Again, I was pleasantly surprised when my phone rang about a month later and it was Birdie. She said one new Submariner, no date model, had come in. I was out of town when I received Birdie's call so I had to postpone my trip to the store. When I got home I made and appointment with Birdie and drove to Charlotte. Like before, all went pleasantly well. My Rolex Submariner was sized to my wrist, registered with Rolex and I was given an appraisal for my records. The purchase took about an hour and we had lots of laughs and shot some fun photos. In summary, I received fantastic customer service from Birdie and all of Fink's representatives. Everyone was friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Accolades go to Birdie and all Fink's employees at the Charlotte store. Highly recommended. MM

Worst customer service. Shop for a Rolex elsewhere. Rolex should be ashamed of this retailer. Background checks , what I do for work and where I live? To purchase a $14,000 timepiece....That would be bias. And I'm white...can't imagine how they treat people of color....

One of the two authorized Rolex Dealers in Charlotte. South Park store manager, Roger Harper, is super knowledgeable about all watch brands and is not just about making a sale. He is an avid watch enthusiast who will share his experiences with a brand even if it might lead you away from a higher priced option in order to give you the best value for your dollar. Highly recommend.

126710 BLRO

In November of 2021, I visited Fink's to buy a ring for my wife and was lucky enough to have Keng as my sales associate. The ring buying process was so easy - Keng presented multiple choices for me (all of which worked with my wife's wedding ring). He then asked if there was anything else he could help me with and I said sure - I would like a 126710 BLRO. Keng chuckled and said sure - I will put you in line! I figured it was going to be like all of the other Rolex authorized dealers in today's world. We laughed, looked at a few other watches and I told him I would be in touch. For Christmas, I went back, and of course, worked with Keng. This time he helped me with a necklace and earring set that matched for my wife. I asked again about the BLRO and he assured me that I was on the list still. On February 24, 2022, I got a call and then a text from Keng that said he had good news for me and for me to give him a call. Of course, I called him back as soon as possible. Keng asked me if I was still interested in the Pepsi Rolex. I almost fell out of my chair and I figured he was messing with me. 4 months, on a Pepsi? What? I told him I could not be there until the next day, and he said that was fine. Went up there, talked with him - he brought out the BLRO, sized it, and I left with a Pepsi Rolex. Keng is a great sales associate and him and Fink's have my business for any jewelry or watch needs that I have in the future. I am already thinking of what I need to get for my wife for mother's day. If anyone asks me where to go buy a watch brand that they sell (Rolex, Omega, Tudor, Breitling, etc) or jewelry - I am going to be sending them to Keng and Fink's. Thanks again Keng and Fink's!

Wedding band custom made at finks for a great price!

I had a wedding band made here with a family ring and it turned out beautifully!! I have been a longtime customer of Finks in Lynchburg, VA, and will say that my overall impression of this location is not quite as good, although I am thrilled with my end result! When I first walked in, a few very confused salespeople told me they didn't do custom jewelry, BUT they eventually directed me to Delores and she was so helpful! I had diamonds taken out of my heirloom ring to make a platinum and diamond wedding band and I adore the result!! We will probably return for my fiancé's wedding band since the prices are so good, but you definitely don't get the service of diamonds direct (where my engagement ring is from). Again, I was thrilled with my experience, but I definitely see where the negative reviews are coming from.

I purchased a Rolex from Fink's Southpark. Mr. Keng Vang, was a major help. I could not have received better customer service. I will definitely be purchasing more jewelry from Fink's in the future. I am beyond satisfied. And I appreciate the entire team at Fink's for working during these troubling times. Thank you Mr. Keng and Fink's!

I normally…read moretrek out to SouthPark Mall, but I wasn't looking forward to making that drive just for a watch battery. I searched Yelp for watch repair and discovered Bailey's Fine Jewelry on Providence Road, just a few miles from Uptown. What a wonderful discovery. From the moment I walked in, this felt different from your typical jewelry store. Bailey's is a beautiful, spacious, family-owned jeweler, but what impressed me most was how welcoming and comfortable the experience felt. Bailey's has been locally owned in North Carolina since 1948, and the Charlotte location carries on the legacy of longtime Charlotte jeweler Morrison Smith. I was greeted immediately and escorted to the watch counter. The associate taking care of me offered coffee, tea, a soft drink or sparkling water while I waited. I chose sparkling water and was handed a glass bottle of Perrier tucked into a black Bailey's koozie. Now that is a nice touch. While they worked on my watch, I wandered around. The store is gorgeous and much larger than I expected, with fine jewelry alongside beautiful gifts, frames, crystal, jewelry boxes and other pieces. I also appreciated being able to browse without feeling followed or pressured. The clientele was equally welcoming and refreshingly diverse--different ages, backgrounds and styles. Nobody needed to look a certain way to belong there. For a high-end jewelry store, I found that especially refreshing. You can also see into the watchmaking/work area through glass, which I loved. Everything looked immaculate and organized, and being able to see the professionals at work added a sense of transparency. Eventually I settled into one of the big club chairs by the windows with my Perrier and a jewelry magazine. A gentleman brought my finished watch directly to me on a little velvet tray. Such an elegant touch for something as simple as replacing a battery. Then came the biggest surprise. I walked over to pay, and the associate told me there was no charge for the battery replacement. Instead, Bailey's asks customers to make a donation to a local charity. How fantastic is that? I later looked it up because I wanted to understand the program. Bailey's calls it "A Time to Give." Rather than charging customers for watch-battery replacement, Bailey's absorbs most of the cost and asks for a charitable donation instead. Each store selects organizations to support, and Bailey's says the program has now donated more than $1 million to the communities it serves. I happily donated $20. As I was leaving, I tried to return the Bailey's koozie and just take my Perrier. Nope. She told me to keep the koozie, too. From a customer-service and branding perspective, somebody at Bailey's understands hospitality. That little black Bailey's koozie is coming home with me, and every time I use it, I'll remember this experience. That's how you create a customer--and perhaps an accidental brand ambassador. My only caution is parking. The Charlotte store is directly on Providence Road, and the front parking area is tight. Pulling back into fast-moving traffic requires patience, so take your time. I'm going to investigate whether there's another parking option for my next visit. And there will be a next visit. I went to Bailey's Fine Jewelry because I needed a watch battery. I left wanting to come back and explore the store. That says a lot. So if your watch has stopped ticking, don't automatically head to the mall. Bailey's offers watch-battery replacement, and that simple errand supports something much bigger in the community. Life is too short not to sleep well, eat well, travel well--and now I'm adding shop well. Bailey's Fine Jewelry, you've officially made the list.

I recently brought in a small custom design order and was assisted by Ed (customer service…read moreextraordinaire). In the process of completing the order, an unfortunate miscommunication occurred which Ed handily addressed and resolved with real finesse, reflecting his years of experience performing effective customer interface in the jewelry business. Thank you for everything, Ed (and thank you Bailey's for recognizing Ed's talent and ability handling the inevitable glitches which can arise when serving the public). I remain a satisfied Bailey's Fine Jewelry customer---thanks to Ed's swift response and expertise.

I love coming here, and do so every single time I'm in Charlotte on a weekend night, which is often lately. Very appropriately named because this really is the epicenter of Charlotte. It's lively and fun and modern and futuristic and pretty amazing. The whole multi-level palace is filled with hot people and scandalously dressed people, especially on warm nights. I made some nice friends around here (of both genders, for a change). It is the heartbeat of downtown Charlotte and a very non-traditional party area. Sort of like a party area of the future. If a mall had an older, drinking crowd and was outdoors and full of clubwear then this would be it. For this reason we love walking around here, even though parking is extremely difficult here on Friday and Saturday nights, so be careful. We've actually parked illegally and gotten away with it on several occasions, but I wouldn't recommend that to others. Lots of cops around here so don't do anything stupid. The design means that if somebody crazy decided to commit suicide, or if there was a fist fight, then it would be very easy from the higher levels to plunge down a long, long way, and there's a lot of people wandering in the courtyard below, so that worries me a tiny bit, and what about the very very drunk people leaning against the railings with a 100 foot drop down onto concrete asphalt right below them. It does worry me slightly but it's still an absolutely wonderful place.

Great bang for my buck, but even better is that I got 2 uniquely stunning pieces. My necklace was a custom piece based on a photo I found of a 1920s art deco necklace. Vanessa (who is the coolest, quirkiest fun gal!) worked with me to nail down the perfect sketches to make it my own style. And Lee did an amazing job of explaining the best way to craft it so my pendant hangs perfectly. Finally, we chose a unique chain to top off the vintage feel. I loved the whole process and felt very cared for. They listened and worked with me until we landed on the perfect design. My biggest dilemma now is what to buy next?!! I would definitely recommend them for any custom pieces - especially vintage inspired or with fun colored gems. Vanessa is a whiz at creative color. Their wedding jewelry is gorgeous and so special. And their ready-made pieces in the shop are amazing and inspiring. You can't go wrong with any of it! Plus, lots of great places in NODA to stop for a cocktail before/after you shop! :)
