The blueberries were sweet and plump and the food was delicious! I especially liked their blueberry lemonade. It was not too sweet We bought some of their pancake mix and maple syrup to make blueberry pancakes the next morning. My only complaint is that the chickens are allowed to roam free in the outdoor seating area. My friends were not thrilled with their poop littering the space and the threat of chickens pecking at their feet - which thankfully didn't happen. Just a heads up for anyone looking to dine at the farm!

We love seeing the chickens, pigs, goats, cows, and we're lucky to get to see the donkey they had around Christmas. The food from the cafe is delicious. Great bagels, chili, sandwiches, pizza. Everything we've had is great. If it's super busy the food can take a while, but be patient! It's great food done well. Love this local family run place! We'll be back often.

You will find varieties of kale onions corn tomatoes potatoes herbs squash eggplant lettuce...You will even find pork products at this market including butt, bacon, and belly (though the prices may shock you on the meat). Only requests/things missing are some delicious cheese and some roasted coffee. I am addicted to the colorful mini carrots from Cape Elizabeth as well as the vibrant inside and out heirloom tomatoes. We have made a whole weeks meal for two hungry adults on $30 of produce supplemented with about $30 protein from hannafords. This market is also a quick convenient shopping trip as opposed to the long Sunday lines at the grocery store.

Here you can usually find what you need for your produce needs between two to three vendors that primarily do produce. Since it's small you don't always have the most choice to "shop around" on costs, but it's all fresh! Other tents have gourmet jams, loose leaf tea, breads/baked goods, pasta sauce and maple products, meat, beauty products/soap and fresh cut flowers among other things you can usually find as well. One thing that I can't find here that disappoints me is any delicious local cheese or other dairy products so don't count on finding that. Bottom line: worth stopping by to support local and get some good stuff!

As follows Hickory and maple cheese (5 stars) strong smoky flavor, goes well with crackers and cured meats. Maple Salt water taffy (5 stars) mild maple flavor, tastes very natural, very soft) Syrup (5 star) very good and natural, what you would expect from fresh homemade and quality syrup. Maple nuts (3 star) underwhelmed they were fine but I thought too mild to really hit the spot for salty or sweet kicks. Maple drops (2 star) I did not like these. Honestly just tasted like a sugar hard candy. Didn't taste the maple. They have a lot more products and I would recommend if you have some time. If you don't see anyone around just ring the doorbell but nice chance to see maple syrup at it's finest.

Every vendor we walked by, said hello and seemed warm and friendly. The area was set up near the main walkway, which was nice - very tidy and organized. There were a lot of different patrons, young and old and everyone seemed so happy and engaged with the vendors. I can't believe it's taken me YEARS to finally visit. I will definitely return, if I can get out of work in time. That's the only downside, they are only set up until 6pm on Thursdays.

While you meander among the tents you can listen to fiddlers or singers while sipping coffee from a local coffee truck. Just make sure to grab a scone or cookie to nibble on with it to complete the experience. There is also a flower garden across the street that you can walk over to admire.

I like that we haven't lost that characteristic of goodness and trust and neighborly love that we've always been known for. Enter Pine Ridge Acres. I don't eat meat, but they've got a Farm Stand that sells their fresh (enormous) eggs ($5 for a dozen!!! if you're gonna buy eggs, please buy them from a local farm -- they're better quality, the animals are usually treated better, and your money is going directly back into our agricultural economy), locally grown flowers (bouquets and singles), Maine made chips and popcorn and jams and pickles and it's all the things I love about our roadside stalls but in an actual room inside a building on a farm. Oh, and it's still on the honor system -- an introvert's dream come true. AND they take card! You just scan a QR code or type in a website address then enter your card info; it's super easy (and if you flub it up, like I did, a very nice person will immediately email you to help: "please try again at pay.pineridgemaine.com or next time by the farm store just drop a check in our cash box and note the date of the sale in the memo line for me"). The first time I came, the cows were wandering in the pasture nearby. And the views overlooking the Falmouth/Cumberland "countryside"? Just lovely. Basically: just support Maine's farms please. It's been a decade plus since my original review, so I thought I'd update it!…read more Since then the PFM on Wednesdays is now *also* located in the picturesque (and much easier to park in) Deering Oaks from mid April to late November, 7am to 1pm (while the winter market takes place only on Saturdays inside on Stevens Ave from early December to early April, 9am to 1pm). From the Portland Farmers Market: " Featuring over 30+ Maine farmers. From artichokes to zucchini, if you can grow it here, you'll probably find it IN season and fresh! Also eggs, meat, cheese, milk, ferments, flowers, fibers, honey, and more! Farm products exclusively." Yes, it is all things local in beautiful abundance! I like that many of the vendors are the same from Saturday to Wednesday; but there's just something slightly more lowkey about the Wednesday market. It's a smaller crowd, a more relaxed vibe, the vendors are unhurried and have more space to chat, and it seems like more locals are intentionally out to shop/support their local farmer. I usually know exactly what I want when I come here, but it's nice to be able to slow down and take time to really look around without being bumped into/having to worry about something selling out.

I also snagged some blueberries and radish microgreens. I'll be eating verrrryyyyy well for the next several days, that's for sure. While you'll find a larger selection at the bigger Saturday market, when it's peak produce season like it is now the tables will be overflowing with goodness on Wednesdays, too. And it's just a bit mellower, and always easy to find a place to park. All of the vendors are happy to talk with you about what they're selling and I enjoy that as much as everything I bring home! Practicalities: bring cash, because even though several vendors do take cards, not all of them do and there's usually a $10 minimum. Plus, cash enables you to spend a few bucks at several different tables if you want to (I mean, why not try a tomato or two from each?). And bring your tote bags to load up, to save on having to use any plastic or paper (which most vendors do have in some form). Most of all, just enjoy strolling through the park and seeing all the bounty on offer, and know you're supporting Maine farmers by buying local.
