Every vendor we walked by, said hello and seemed warm and friendly. The area was set up near the main walkway, which was nice - very tidy and organized. There were a lot of different patrons, young and old and everyone seemed so happy and engaged with the vendors. I can't believe it's taken me YEARS to finally visit. I will definitely return, if I can get out of work in time. That's the only downside, they are only set up until 6pm on Thursdays.

They seemed to be doing very well, so I just kept a close eye and watched them build and grow their business to meet the customer needs for local meat and vegetables....and as of the last year or so they have added so many ready made meals, and baked goods and desserts!!! I have been back twice in the past month or so and each time have stocked up on treats for special occassions. We loved the Quiche - very high quality and the taste was buttery and cheesey and eggey - LOVE! I have tried and thoroughly enjoyed their house made, english muffins, muffins, cookies, brownies and fruit bread slices. So so good. They accept cash and credit. They have a great staff/team of workers...they are friendly, and fun. The cat Darla - she was a hit with everyone that was with me...she is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy...don't pet her too long, she will hit you with her little mitten paws. She will rub up against your legs and allow you to provide a few pets...she will reach up with her paws/claws if you stop petting too soon. LOL There is so much that I love about this business.. I always feel like I need to make a few laps around the whole thing just to figure out who has what and at what price. I actually feel like the older I get the less choices I need, and that's why I like the Cumberland Farmers' Market. It's small. (Actually, Joanna R said it best, "It's a Goldilocks market. Not too big, not too small, but just right.") On Saturdays, it's hosted in the back half of the town hall's parking lot on Tuttle Rd, and there are maybe a dozen or so vendors selling the essentials. It can get busy VERY quickly (i.e. they're open from 10a to 1p; expect it to be crowded by 10:05am). But customers turnover fairly quickly so parking shouldn't be as big of an issue as it may initially seem (because people come here to actually shop and not just come here to be seen shopping; does that make sense?). I don't usually go to farmers' markets with a specific shopping list; I know everything is local and seasonal and can change in a moment's notice because of weather affecting crops. I just let myself be surprised at what goodies are available then in the moment!

They do so in a proud and humble manner. Very down to earth people here that work very hard to bring you the amazing selection. Some of my favorites are SPUN, Tir na nOg Farm, Cranberry Rock and Winslow Farm. I find the prices to be competitive and where it might be a little more expensive than a bigger shopping venue, I remember that this is going directly back to the local economy. The few times I have gone, there has been music, the kids seems to enjoy it as with some adults. It add to the nice background, it's not too loud or distracting. I LOVE the location. Conveniently located with plenty of parking. And because the market isn't too big, people aren't there for very long, so the parking spaces free up fast. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend visiting this location at least once.

Found some delicious treats and said hello to all the farmers that I haven't seen since last fall. I love this place. The farmers and vendors are always so kind and helpful and there to answer any questions you might have. Having the market in this spot, is nice because it's a beautiful park so lush and green! Anyways, numerous vendors gather in the field owned my Crystal Farms to sell their veggies, fruits, meats, frozen meals, breads, mushrooms, seasonings, yogurts, pastries, flowers, and items handmade by a seamstress. While you meander among the tents you can listen to fiddlers or singers while sipping coffee from a local coffee truck. Just make sure to grab a scone or cookie to nibble on with it to complete the experience. There is also a flower garden across the street that you can walk over to admire.
