Financial Approval Network states that you have a 10 day free trial period, & that you will be billed after day 10. I followed the steps to cancel on the morning of the 10th day, which was today. Later today I noticed that the money was taken out of my account. I called the customer service line, 1-888-779-0509, and was told that I had waited until the 10th day and they had already started the billing process. I asked for clarification, since the billing process didn't start, it was done. $79.97 is missing from my account. The customer service person was rude & stated that I had waited until after the 10 days, but that she would reverse it and I could contact my bank if there was a problem. I was distressed when I found a bank charge from this company in the amount of $79.95 - I have never heard of them before. Wen I tried to phone them I found the call is voice mail. You are immediately given the option to cancel the account by clicking '1'. t. Also given the option of speaking to a rep. Hours are from 8:00 until ?? - did not catch what was said. Mountain time. . we just found out that we were being charged for 79.97 since Jan. and was not aware that we would be charged this from Financial Approval Network. We looked up to see what this was and put two and two together and figured it out for a 1.95 charge to find some information out, but we didnt know about the reoccurring charge. We cant do anything about this as of yet we will go to the bank on Monday and see what we can do. We called but could not talk to anyone. I guess we need to not trust anything on the internet or look really close at the small print if there was any. If you choose to do this just make sure it doesnt have any trial days. There should be a law to protect the unknowing innocent people from getting scammed. We will be calling to cancel at least we can keep them from getting anymore. I wish I would have read the reviews before I spent my $1.95. I too was charged $79.97 that I had no idea this would occur. I only approved the $1.95 and DID NOT check box agreeing to their terms. Yes, I also called the customer service number, what a horrible person on the other end!!!! The Support Staff was extremely friendly and provided me with a little one on one help when I started to feel overwhelmed. The lessons they offer really broke down the application process for me step by step and provided examples of the paperwork which really helped. The price of the monthly membership fee after the trial is a little too high for me, but the agent did offer a discounted rate when I expressed my inability to continue membership. I get a few hundred emails a month, so naturally I do not open them all or read thru them all to the small print at the end. What a mistake. I would give this place NEGATIVE stars if I could. Not only was this a case of fraud but the customer service representative, by the name of Wendy, was extremely rude, condescending and insulting. She had the nerve to tell me there was no other person I could speak to besides her. SO I GUESS SHE WAS RUNNING THIS PHONY CALL CENTER BY HERSELF. After insinuating multiple times that this person was me who signed up for the account, she even went so far as to threateningly state that their legal department would "investigate" the IP address and press charges. The customer service manager who finally called me back by the name of Jamie, who clearly has NO experience with customer relations or running any sort of respectable customer service team, actually RAISED HER VOICE with me, told me I was wrong and that I don't know how to speak to human beings. This a horrible business practices; using deceptive techniques and even worse customer service. Here's why: I saw that I was charged $79.97 for a service called Financial Approval Network. I did not know what the charge was for or what service i was "supposed to be using. So I called them using the telephone number provided by my bank. I asked about the service, once I discovered: I was not using the service, I did not need this service and I did not sign up for this recurring service I asked for a refund. I was told I passively agreed to be charged a recurring $79.97 per month. I asked to see a copy of my agreement; I was told my agreement was not available. I was offered a refund for three months of the 11 months I was charged for this service, I did not receive. I asked the customer service representative if she could provide a full refund, she said no. I asked to speak to a supervisor she said no one was available. I asked if I should go to my State Attorney General, she then went ballistic and said since I was going to a state authority she was no longer offering any consideration. Reconsidering my position I asked if she would have a supervisor or manager call me, she said she would, I am still waiting for that call from the supervisor. read more

This is a scary place. I had never even heard of this organization. They said that someone had put all of my information into the computer and it had been past the 10 days. I never even got anything about the service, so if I had in fact filled something out I would have been trying to use it during the trial period. Very strange. I signed up for this service because they advertised that they would be able to help locate small business grants and loans. I was promised a 10 day trial for $1.95 and not to be charged if this membership was canceled within the 10 days. I looked through the site that day and did not find any useful information whatsoever. I canceled my membership online the next day. A month later I was charged $79.97 even after I had canceled my membership. I called and canceled again over the phone and contacted my bank about the fraudulent charge. I filed a dispute with the bank, however, when the forms came back from the Financial Approval Network, they never showed the bank the first time I canceled my membership and they had a history log of me logging into the account multiple times even through I only used the account once. I tried to contact customer service and they would not talk to me about the log ins because my "account was in dispute." Please heed my warning and don't use this service. I absolutely did not sign up for this-I saw this on my credit card and didn't know what the heck it was. I think they get your info from another site linked into theirs. By the time I realized it, they had already placed two payments on my account for 79.95 and I was only able to get 40 bucks back on the one in September. I am now refuting this with my credit card company. I think the FTC needs to be taking this site out of operation. This is scamming at its finest. This company is full of crap!!! I called this number, 1-888-779-0509, and asked what this company is about because I keep getting recurring charges of $79.97, which I never agreed to. They told me that back in July I joined a membership to gain access to their website for this recurring charge. I remember around that time a guy with a very strong accent called me claiming to be with the Grant program. I didn't want to talk with him and told him to let me talk with someone who could speak clear English. Good communication is important. He did not comply with my request. I ended the conversation and the next thing I know I am being charged $3.00 initially and a recurring charge of $79.97. How do these people get your information? I told the lady that I wanted to see a copy of the agreement and she said it's on the website. I demanded a refund and she said that this is not possible. I went off on her and stated I was going to speak with my attorney and she hung up on me. These companies always have somebody with a very strong accent make these phone calls so you can't understand them and have no idea what you might be agreeing to. Then they play dumb and innocent claiming you agreed to it. The thing is, I never agreed to anything and told the guy I wasn't interested.
