However, we found out that neither was true. I contacted a few musicians and took a chance on Chicago Classic Strings because they were all faculty at local colleges, despite not having reviews online. They had a large selection of songs to choose from - classical to modern pop. At the wedding, we had a slight delay with the actual ceremony due to a wardrobe malfunction of one of the bridesmaids, but our string trio played extra songs during the prelude until the bridal party was ready to go. Guests commented on great they sounded, and the songs were done beautifully. We even asked them to modify the recessional song to play a little more up-tempo, and they accommodated without issue. Chicago Classic Strings really set a great tone for the wedding ceremony, and we highly recommend them to anyone looking for strings!

I've seen the CSO here as well as a guest conductor (Leonard Slatkin) and last night the Opole Philharmonic. I scored tickets for last night through Living Social. 2 tickets in the 8th row for $15. Even without that deal, the ticket prices are very reasonable. The place these artists perform is actually the chapel. So you will see religious signs on the wall. There really isn't much of a lobby to speak of. They do have a coat check room and restrooms, but they are VERY small (3 stalls ladies), so the lines can get long during intermission. They do not have any food or drinks available. They do open the campus dining up before an event. Before you start remembering your college food experience and shuddering, know that Wheaton College's campus food is ranked in the top 5 of all college campuses! A final note on these events. They are well attended by seniors. Don't get put off by that, they are very friendly. Towards the end of last night's performance I was holding back a cough so much it made my eyes water. The older woman next to me picked up what was going on and whipped out a few tootsie rolls and offered them to me!

He even met with me for coffee a few months before the wedding because he wanted to be sure that he understood our vision, music tastes, etc. The dance floor was full all night. So many people came up to me afterward and commented that they had never seen such a creative DJ - his transitions between songs were so fun, and he was flexible and knew how to keep the party going. He also provided all of the sound equipment for the entire day. We played a video during the reception, and even though he wasn't responsible for the equipment, he quickly jumped in when it looked like the sound wasn't working. Honestly, there is no reason to consider using any other DJ. Backthird is the best of the best!

Andrew was great about helping us coordinate everything, especially since our reception ended up being a bit of a variety show. I appreciated that Andrew and his assistant, Scott, took care of all the details. They showed up early to set up, kept us on schedule throughout the evening, and made sure to play our "must play" songs and other requests at the times requested. Robbie even made sure to follow up with me at various times throughout the process to make sure everything was going well. These guys are great and really care about their customers. We were pleasantly surprised to find a kind and accommodating sales team with nothing but options available for us to pursue. We wanted a vertical acoustic piano in black and the available stock in our price range was low. Keith (I think), recommended some other verticals in brown wood finishes, but we had our preferences. He was careful not to pressure us into anything and we ended up stumbling upon and asking about the Roland line of digital pianos. He was knowledgable and helped ease our concerns around digital versus acoustic. We ended up buying a Roland, because it met the needs of our family at the moment. Eventually, when we can move to a larger house, we'll be back here to see about getting a bigger acoustic piano! The close of the sale and the follow-up to the pick-up were pleasant experiences as well, which is why we highly recommend Pianoland!
