It helps there's a ton of other bars around here. There's plenty of places a drink can go when in town. It's about $5 to get a well liquor. There's also a list of fancier cocktails if wanting a better one. It's about $9 for appetizers. The one we got was the Pretzel Sticks. Pretty simple item. There's also the usual fried things. We walked into a large room that was extremely dark. It was so dark that I thought they were closed and had forgotten to lock the front doors. There is a bar that extends across the back wall with two U shaped additions on each end. What lights were on were only over the pool table and the portion of the bar that was furthest from the door. There were a handful of customers sitting in there. As we made our way to the bar, everyone just watched us. No one was talking or said anything. We took a seat and the bartender gruffly asked us what we wanted. We each ordered a beer. At that point someone turned the channel on the only TV to "Swamp People". Of course, not one word was spoken. When I would take a look around the bar, I always locked eyes with the regulars staring at my friend and myself. We both decided after one beer we were going to leave. It was made plainly clear this was a regular/locals bar. I don't know that I'll be going back in there ever.

So we super quickly ate half our meals and left as soon as we could. Drinks were good though. I got a mango cider, a really unique flavor that was crisp and delicious. That was the best part of our short visit to a very noisy Ernie's in Rockford.
