After many up and down medical issues, we finally had to place my 90-year old Mom in a facility as…read morewe could no longer care for her at home. I looked at several Assisted Living places but decided to place her in a 6-person Board and Care private home where the care would be more one-on-one and more like a home. I got a list of facilities from Ombudsman of Ventura County and also checked state licensing and all complaints filed against the homes I was considering. I looked at about 8 homes, but had trouble finding openings in the ones I liked. Then I was lucky enough to stumble on Ashley's Manor 2. I was so impressed the moment I walked in. Maricor showed us the kitchen and living areas first, and introduced us to the caregivers and the residents. Everyone was so friendly and the residents all looked happy and engaged. The house was immaculately kept- very clean!!! She then showed us both a shared room and a single room with a sliding patio door that opened to a beautiful backyard. We knew almost immediately that this was the place. Maricor was so caring and so qualified. She is a nurse and explained she would take of everything to start hospice. We moved my Mom in the next day. She was very angry and said she would not talk to me if I left her there (sniff, sniff). It was very hard but very necessary. However, each day, our Mom did better and better and within 2 weeks said that if she could not live at home this was the next best thing. She enjoyed having everyone wait on her and the companionship. She told me constantly how nice all of the caregivers were and what good care they took of her. Maricor was amazing and it is obvious she really cares for each of the residents. She completely took charge of meds and special instructions. She communicated frequently with any concerns and always used good judgement about when to call me. Everyone made us feel at home when we visited and it was so nice to sit in the backyard to visit with our Mom. We felt like we could walk in without warning at any time and be welcomed. My Mom was always clean and well cared for. Unfortunately, our Mom passed away with heart failure after only 3 weeks of living here. I can say that in those 3 weeks, she really started to feel part of her new family and was very content with living there. Maricor, Blair and Edna and all of the caregivers were wonderful and compassionate and I never had a doubt that this was the best place for my Mom. I cannot speak highly enough about the care my Mom received here, and would be happy to talk to anyone (via messaging) that has questions or needs a reference.

When I say that Holly's treatment and guidance have changed my life, I'm not exaggerating. I had…read morebeen living with chronic pain and gynecological issues for 20+ years. After receiving a diagnosis of interstitial cystitis, I decided to look for a physical therapist rather than take medication like my doctor had recommended. I was a little nervous to try physical therapy for my IC, but Holly put me at ease right away. She was super gentle and kind and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. Not only that, she had determined that I had pelvic floor dysfunction and that it was largely to blame for my chronic gynecological issues (dyspareunia, bladder, pelvic pain, etc.) Because of Holly's care and treatment, I'm no longer in chronic pain. I cannot recommend Holly enough!!

Review for Veronica,…read more It is a joy to have you in my home and taking care of me. You truly have a heart like Jesus, as He said, 'I have come to be a servant of all and show you the Father's love through my actions.' Your daily actions, such as always entering my home with a sweet greeting and a smile. No matter what may have occurred on your drive to work you never let it change your kindness and compassion towards me. Your daily respect for my autonomy and personal choices have been a great relief and blessing to me. Last year, 2025, was enormously difficult for me physically, emotionally and mentally. I was badly injured by a caregiver who really didn't want to be with me. She wanted to run my life instead of letting me make my own decisions. Everything was a struggle. I am still dealing with the pain and suffering from her carelessness almost a year later. You, however, are the complete opposite of that caregiver. You show genuine care, compassion and empathy to me. At the same time you keep a close watch on me for my episodes, for any unusual reactions, for changes in my body or mind that may indicate something physically is about to happen or something that is happening without my knowledge. Your daily care of me is exceptional. Everything from reading my body signs or noticing that I am in the middle of a call, task or just not ready. Yet, you come back or tell me it's getting late for something we have scheduled. This may be as simple as my breakfast or as important as helping me to get ready for my doctor appointments, my bloodwork or therapy. You encourage me to try many things that can help my health, mood or my outlook for the day. Such as, helping me relearn my Spanish while I help you with English, or walking around the house with my gait belt and walker. You keep me on top of my goals. These can be as basic as making my bed every time I get up (in the morning and after my nap). In fact, this helped me create and continue this habit. Another goal of mine is building my strength and stamina enough to walk around outside my home. This has not happened yet, as I have been primarily bed bound since February 19, 2025. You encourage my stretching in bed to keep my body as limber as possible. This helps reduce injury in case of a fall. My personal Internist, Dr. Fondren of Newport Beach certainly appreciates your encouragement and reminders to help me to regain the strength I have lost since February 2025. (when a different caregiver injured me). Once I have regained a little more endurance, then I can start physical therapy. Finally, my family has been at peace with you being my main caregiver and I love how well you and Gabbi work together caring for me. Just knowing how dependable you both are, how you communicate with each other changes, concerns and even my meal planning and cooking. My sister and my son (they both call me almost every day) are amazed that I finally have a team like you and Gabbi. Thank you Veronica for everything and I look forward to 2026 being a great year with continued great care!
