Lots of aussie products without the expensive shipping fee! Good prices also compared to world market and other stores.

I love this market in Millbrae. I didn't expect to find good Russian candies and goodies on…read moreValentine's Day over here this year, but I have found more than enough today. Their candies/chocolates/cookies/breads are all very good in selections and prices. Amazing. Affordable. Some items are much cheaper than other places. It's very convenient and successful in the area on Broadway. Fruits and vegetables do stand out. It felt like I'm not in the U.S. for a moment after browsing the aisles. Fresh fresh fresh! All items looked good. Not sure if owner is Russian or European, but it's a unique place for visitors. These markets are more popular in streets of Paris, France and other parts of Europe. I loved the fruit prices and wide selections/so clean and organized with passionate employees enjoying their jobs. Cashier was quick and experienced. Box of $6.99 Russian coconut almond candy was very strong in flavor and coconut/nice! The box itself was beautiful too. Tempting. Chocolates were all outstanding from the box covers. Most quality goodies can be found for under $10 per box/pack. Under $15 range is pretty decent for larger items. Not bad for a good find on Valentine's Day. I'll revisit next time. Great impression so far.

Inside the market is a modestly lit establishment, but it works well for what they are trying to achieve. The market sells a wide variety of commodities and fresh produce; as well as items from other countries. The service was nice and friendly. I will always continue to come back to this outstanding fresh produce market.

All food is served in take out boxes. The guy behind the counter even had a pigeon accent. Will be back to try more Ono Ono food!

Diamond Head General Store is a like a touch of Hawaii in the Bay Area with hawaiian based snacks,…read moredrinks, even frozen Zippy meals available for purchase! They also serve hot food if you're looking for a bite to eat. Interior has some seating inside with a grocery store kind of feeling. No outdoor seating available. Parking is limited to street parking. A few notes: * Not everything in the store is labelled with prices * Hot food was pretty average in my opinion * Price vs value wasn't great in terms of quality of food Onto the hot food: * butter mochi - definitely the best thing we ordered here! Chewy buttery and soft in texture. Don't skip this. * garlic shrimp- this was recommended by the cashier but it was quite lacking in depth of flavor with the primary taste just being garlic. No spice, nothing special to stand out. After a while the sauce gets tiring. Mac salad was prominently peppery but bland in both texture and flavor. * Mochiko chicken - Not bad, crunchy battered chicken. Interior of the chicken was juicy but lacking in that distinct strong sweet savory that mochiko chicken is known for. Again, the mac salad was a letdown. Overall, the food was quite average especially for the price point. I can think of two places in SJ with better Hawaiian food for half the price.

We ordered the following: 1) Deconstructed lumpia - more difficult to eat than the classic lumpia but the flavors were so bomb that it was worth the effort. 2) Patatim - reminiscent of paksiw na pata but with mushrooms. The meat just melts in your mouth! 3) Bistek tagalog - their take on steak and fries, but better. 4) Kaldaretang baka with bleu cheese mash - classic kaldareta flavors on a bed of mash potatoes. We were a little unsure about the bleu cheese part, so our waiter offered that it can come on the side. We tried it with the dish and while it was good and added a tang, bleu cheese is just not for me so I'm glad we got it on the side! The meat was cooked perfectly - still a little pink on the inside so it wasn't chewy or overdone at all. 5) For dessert, we got the buko pandan which my mom absolutely loved. Owner (I think) and ancestor of Inda, Raquel, came out to greet us and ask how everything was. She was so kind and glad we had enjoyed the flavors. She even boxed up our leftover for us! Food gets a solid 5 stars - I would give more if I could! For atmosphere, I give it a 4 as it was a hot day I don't think the place has AC, so it was really warm in there. For service, I also give it a 4 because although our waiter was super friendly, kind, and very helpful, I felt that he could have checked in more. For cost, I feel that everything was priced fairly. It's just a little more expensive than your "regular" Filipino restaurant. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be back!
