1. A perpetual liar. 2. Makes promises and never keeps them. 3. Arrogant and rude and condescending. 4. Does not return calls or emails. 5. Does not prepare taxes on a timely basis- actually he will file an extension even if you have delivered them a month in advance. 6. Extremely Overpriced for the way he treats customers. 7. Do not, and we repeat, do not use this service. You will be sorely disappointed. 8. I would give him a minus 1000000000000 stars. 9. He probably has dementia and should retire . 19. Report to the BBB. read more

Absolutely ridiculous. I have put in my taxes here back in March and mind you I also paid for my personal taxes to be done, while awaiting for my business taxes to be assessed. NO COMMUNICATION to me about what's being done. I have reached out several times to only talk to his wife, the receptionist, and keep getting pushed aside. Piss poor business and would not recommend anyone to come here. Luckily I found a tenacious CPA and willing be filing a complaint with the better business bureau. Taking peoples money and never doing the work is what you're going to get from this "business". read more

Do not do business here! Customer service is very bad, they only care about new customers, after you've been with them for a while, they don't bother returning your phone calls. If I could give them a zero stars I would. Also there's no accountability if you have an issue with the person answering phones she is also the office manager. It makes no sense. read more

Mr. Figueroa is very knowledgeable about taxes and taught me a lot along the way. I've visited him 3 times so far. He's also a good mentor for me along my journey in the music business. He's definitely my tax man forever. His assistants are extremely nice and have coffee but no more candy.. I ate it all.. I've owed him this review for the longest so hopefully you can stack the military discount, with the yelp review discount next time.. just kidding. You're worth every penny. Appreciate you. @imsorrydarlin read more

Figueroa & Co - Accountants Near Me - Pasadena, California

I will state that the lack of professionalism from Fred Figueroa has absolutely nothing to do with the Pandemic. He was just doing nothing more but being deceitful! I met with him back in early Nov 2020 for the first time. He claimed my tax issue required him to do amendments for 2017 and 18 and he was also going to be doing my 2019 taxes. First of all the issue I went to him for was an audit from 2017 taxes... now per the IRS this had until only Dec 14 2020 to be responded to! Now im in his office in early Nov 2020. I leave after giving him all the required information. I NEVER EVER GET A REPLY OR HAVE ANY CONTACT WITH HIM UNTIL DEC 17 2020 4 days after my audit case was due to be closed. I call the IRS this day to see is they have any update I FIND OUT MY TAXES HAD STILL NOT BEEN DONE! short version from here i finally get a hold of him after contacting his wife he gives a thousand reasons as to why he couldn't get it done. None of which made sense for over a month of not doing my taxes. Fast forward till May 2021 he never did his due diligence i know this for a certainty because I now owe the IRS 9800dllrs this is interest and late penalties and the balance for the 2017 audit he claimed he had the solution to. Also which the IRS SAID was never responded to completely basically my tax preparer MR FRED FIGUEROA from FigCo in Pasadena on Rosemead Did not submit what the called accurate information to determine any change in the money owed from the audit. Mind you he had me sign a power of attorney so he had communicate with them on my behalf. If you ask how many times the spoke to my preparer they will tell you. He spoke to them 2xs that was back on 12/17/2020 when I had let him have it for putting me in such a situation by not getting my taxes done by the close of my account because he begged for an extension and one other time when I chased him down again this year on the very last time we communicated where he said he was going to take care of what he didn't originally take care. Yes I know a lot to take in but THE IRS debt is nothing anyone should play with and he did just that with my taxes and I LOST AND HE HAS NEVER COMMUNICATED WITH ME AGAIN. ITS SO UNFORTUNATE BECAUSE I TRUSTED HIM HE MADE ME FEEL CONFIDENT IN HIS ABILITY when in actuality he treated me case like a game and I lost. read more

I decided to go here to have my taxes done after having a family friend do them for years and fearing I was going to get audited because I did not thing he was on the "up and up" Fred Figueroa found deductions that I wasn't aware I was entitled to. I will be using them in the future, the only thing that is annoying is that they do not return phone calls. I have to call and call before someone will call back. That is the only downfall that I have. read more

Fred has been handling my taxes for over three years now. The confusion my taxes represent due to running different companies and contending with the difficulties and stress that April always brings, have been well handled by Fred and his team every year. I do suggest getting in to see him early, ahead of tax season if possible. He is often referred clients during those busy months, and must deal with the onslaught. Even though he is busy, they have always worked with my schedule. Great team to have in your corner. I have also been impressed with how well versed he is in the various aspects of tax law, both current and past. read more

Mr. Figueroa and his staff make a stressful situation not just bearable, but dare I say pleasant. My spouse and I have been meeting with Fred for help with our yearly taxes for several years. Let's just say we are not in a higher tax bracket, but he always spends time with us, shares jokes and stories, and seems genuinely invested that we leave his office happier than when we walked in. He enjoys what he does, and it shows in his generous spirit and positive attitude. He makes sure we understand the process and what is happening with our money and our taxes. Fred has lived and worked in the community for years, and he has even been able to help us with referrals for other issues. They also help with financial planning, so check that out too. All the stars! read more

I haven't done my taxes in over 3 years and Fred was very helpful. Took his time and explained everything to me. My mom and sister also go to him. Not sure why I didn't go to him sooner but I will defiantly come back every year. read more

I was referred to Freed to help me with information on how much taxes I owe and what step I should take next. He recommended doing a power of Atterney which he said would take a couple days. After a 3 weeks I started to call to check the status. I called about 6 times over 2 weeks and received no call back or information. Not until I asked for a refund did mr. Figueroa return my call, gave me the info as if he's had it all along. And tried to proceed to file taxes and collect more money. I would never work with him again. His communication sucks after the first meeting. read more

Hello everyone, my former tax person of nearly two decades passed away. A fellow Los Angeles police officer recommended him to me. I was happy because I respect that officer. However, the officer did say, 'Young, he's expensive but you won't have to worry about an IRS audit." Well, his service was well over $350.00. One time I had to ask my girlfriend if she had any cash on her to help pay my bill whie sitting in his office. I had recommended two of my LAPD trainees to go to him. They both said, 'Sir, he seems to know his stuff but he's not that good for the price he charged. He did say you officers got good medical insurance paid by the city. I have to pay my own.' That officer went on to say, 'Is that why you pass the buck to us Officers for your 'out of pocket expenses,'? Well, those officers no longer go to him. During my last visit, Fred had to rush off to to have a launch with some old friends. He told me to all one of his employees to calculate my tax. He came about about an hour or so later. He always looks over the client's tax refund before he signs his approval. Ms. Cheng got me a great federal refund because she used my solar panel credits. I advised Fred I wanted her to do my tax from now on. I also told him I was somewhat offended he would mention jokes & if I weren't quick enough to catch on, he would say, 'You're so gullible.' Then he said, 'Sorry for keeping you for a while, now let me calculate your bill.' I think I offended him when I said I would prefer his employee do my tax from now. He calculated my bill & said , 'You owe me $420.25.' I don't remember the exact amount but it was well over the $300.00 range. I was shocked. I said, 'Fred, this is me, not actor Denzel Washington, or Judge Judy. I'm just an everyday hard working police officer servicing my community. I had recently got my book published out of New York on the WWW. The title is, 'Stalked by Love.' I concluded, 'Fred, I hope my book sales fly then maybe I can justify paying so much to you.' He smile & said, 'Don't worry about the quarter.' It's one of those situations where no matter how well someone does something for you, you have to mode your fingers like scissors & cut that person loose. ..................Young read more

Receptionist sucks! First, I received a call two days before my scheduled appointment from Sara to confirm. On the day of my appointment my husband and I walk in to the office, the receptionist is talking with a man behind the desk. She just stares at us, doesn't greet us or even smile for that matter. The man with her actually greeted us and asked who our appointment was with. All the while the receptionist is still staring. A few minutes later, she asks us if anyone had called us to reschedule. Umm no if they had I wouldn't be there. I told her about Sara calling to confirm and she said "oh ok" and sat down. Another couple of minutes go by and the receptionist answers the phone and I over hear her saying "yes, this is sara". Are you kidding me. She didn't even say she was sara when I told her about the call. I just thought she knew who sara was. Plus when I called to schedule I was told by the receptionist that it would cost $80.00 to have my taxes done. In the end we ended up paying $135.00 (which is the discounted rate) and not $80.00 as quoted. Even if it's cheap I don't appreciate the way I was scammed. read more
