Full disclosure - My girlfriend went out for brunch with her brothers - She grabbed takeout for…read moredinner of which I was a luck recipient. First off, she said she loved the place other than it's one of those places that have the tables in pretty tight together - but food and service wise -she said everything went excellent. She had the Chicken and Waffles, her older brother had a Belgian Waffle and her younger brother had some sort of open faced sandwich with excellent home fries. For my dinner, which we reheated in the air frier, was Excellent. They had made a killer burger with some excellent shoe-string fries that reheated very well. The burger (from the dinner menu) was excellent and I didn't even know it had Swiss on it at the time, because it tasted so damn good. The real prize were those wings. I would drive to Lynn from Merrimack Valley for these wings. Nice blend of sweet and hot. Great experience without having to make the trip personally!!!

She even called ahead to make sure they cook gluten and non gluten separately. We show up and the server had a hard time taking our orders from the start. The server seemed new and maybe had some language barriers, as she didn't seem to be understanding any of us. My husband ordered an old fashion, she didn't seem to understand and he had to repeat himself multiple times slowly. She finally got it after a few times. I asked for a drink off the mocktail menu, but I get a drink loaded with vodka and it is not the drink I ordered. I ask the server about it, she said it was the drink she wrote down. The color wasn't even the same color of the correct drink. I told her I ordered a mocktail, she said they have 2 drinks with the same name. and I got the one with alcohol. There was only one drink with that name on the menu and it is under the zero proof section. It was not even the right flavor of the drink, with or without alcohol. We order oysters off the happy hour menu. She brings double the amount we ordered. And said it wasn't on the happy hour menu. We show her the happy hour menu and it is right there. Lastly, she was very confused about the celiac requirement. My friend has very serious issues with it and every restaurant we eat at with her has to have separate prep kitchens. She didn't seem to get that my friend could not have pita with the hummus. Maybe she didn't know what gluten-free or celiac was? But after some explanation and asking for veggies instead of pita, she offered cucumber. Then my friend ordered the chicken and asked for the celiac prep, the server just kind of dismissed it. When it came, the chicken had a crunchy crust on it, and we were just not sure if the server understood again, so my friend just didn't eat it out of caution. We were bummed as it seemed like a good place but the service just kind of ruined the meal. If this lady was new, we would recommend she shadow someone for a while so she can learn.

Valsos served the most delicious dishes, fresh and perfectly spiced. I literally ate myself into a food coma. The service was a 10 out of a 10. Very accommodating and friendly. This may be more of a weekday or dinner venue, as we were the only patrons throughout lunch. This tapas-inspired restaurant offers both small plates and entrées. We ordered: * Sophia's Shrimp ($13): Parmesan-breaded shrimp with Colombian tartar sauce. * Beet Salad ($14): Baby arugula, shaved fennel, goat cheese brûlée, lemon-infused vinaigrette, candied walnuts, and crispy shallots. * Ay Caramba ($16): A vegetarian tapa packed with corn, peppers, spinach, mushrooms, and more. * Oriental Salmon Special ($34): Teriyaki-glazed salmon with rice. Reactions were mixed. One diner liked the salmon, and another enjoyed the accompanying rice. I found the salmon a little fishy. The Ay Caramba, the standout dish on our first visit, was prepared differently this time, and we didn't enjoy it as much. One diner thought Sophia's Shrimp was good; another found it too heavily breaded and a little dry. The beet salad was okay, nothing out of the ordinary. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. However, a loud noise from the bar, apparently from making or crushing ice, continued for several minutes while we were eating. It was disruptive enough that I eventually stood up and asked them to stop. With only one occupied table, this should have been done before opening or after we left. We also had to track down our waitress to get the check which I found a little annoying, as the place was empty. Overall, we were less impressed on this visit. If we return, perhaps we'll try some different dishes.

When you think waterfront you immediately think fresh & vibrant with menu items that deliver that wow factor! While the menu looks promising, the execution certainly needs work. Let's start off with the small plates, Mila's meatballs. Our meatballs came before our dinks! Wicked fast! Sadly they were lackluster. Dense , a bit cold & grey in the center & lacked that glorious soft texture to the point where I questioned if they were made fresh. I was told they were! A good meatball is a perfect balance of flavor, texture, and juiciness and theirs didn't! The whipped ricotta was quite nice as well as the marinade was seasoned well. Pulled pork Poutine Excited about it being presented in a cast iron skillet. But the pork was so incredibly salty and the tater tots were definitely store bought. Cheese was melted nicely and that added nutmeg gave it a nice kick. While the seasoning was good, the salt was so dominating you couldn't taste much of anything else. Giannone Chicken Chicken & potatoes with a mushroom sauce. That's it!! An overtly basic dish serving one breast & wing sitting on a huge bed of oven roasted potatoes. Lacking any profound seasoning with some of the potatoes being undercooked. For $27 I was expecting a whole lot more. Some acidity, some spice or maybe a vegetable of some sort Our cocktails while tasty were mostly ice and were also quite pricy. I understand given the location the prices are to scale but not to this extent where our drinks were only a few small sips. I had such high expectations of this new waterfront eatery. And I still do. Hoping they make the necessary changes and execute better in the future. I'm certainly rooting for them.

Those who know me best know that any holiday centered around candy is right up my alley. I couldn't remember the name of a tavern I had visited in the past, so, like any good foodie, I turned to Yelp. Lo and behold, I couldn't believe I had never written a review! Thankfully, I found the name of this little gem, and my memories of the experience served me well because it did not disappoint. The fish and chips were delicious! The fish was tender, flaky, and absolutely wonderful with a splash of malt vinegar. A real standout! The steak tips were cooked to perfection, and the demi-glace sauce was the perfect finishing touch. Located near several of Salem's witch museums and attractions, this is an ideal spot to grab a delicious bite while exploring the city. You won't find any toad stew or newt eyes here, just good food and a warm, inviting tavern atmosphere. The menu may be small, but it certainly packs a punch, and the waitstaff are attentive and welcoming. Highly recommend stopping in if your travels take you to Salem. A little witchy charm, a great meal, and a gem worth remembering!
