Went through the drive-through the other month to do a simple deposit before heading out of town and got lecture at the teller window on how I had my accounts set up. I let her know I did my banking at a different branch, have things set up that way for a reason and did not stop at her bank for money advice from somebody at the drive-through teller window. She wagged her finger at me through the window, mumbled a few words, and told me if I wanted to fix my accounts to let her know because the other branch I use doesn't know what they're doing. Anyone who knows me knows I'm not one to complain. I've only written a handful of reviews in my life, but this bothered me especially when I found out it was the branch manager. I'm loyal to old second but expect more... especially from a manager.

They are rude, almost for fun it seems, anytime calling in. But if you are a day or two late for a car payment , boy, they call like you owe the IRS millions. I have been hung up on, given the run around, on minor things many times. I am sure they work fine with some, but with me they do not. Some very elementary questions they cannot seem to answer without long hold times, which maybe their system, or lack of knowledge. The person whom hung up on me, seemed brain dead frankly.

The bank told me the person is not in today and there's no appointment in system. And wanted me to reschedule. I just need to get a copy of a check that I wrote. Sounds like they don't care about customers satisfaction. And also I used to have business account with them since around 2012 , they required min balance $1500 until I closed business around 10 years later (but didn't close that account) they increased the minimum balance. I wasn't aware of that until I found out that I was charged over $400 ($12/mo), I asked for a favor if they could waive, they said no. So I decided to close business account. Also I close checking account with almost $90,000 which I never had interest which I accepted because I didn't know checking account had no interest ( that caused me $5000 or more depending on what institution). They only think about profit but never about customers satisfaction. Now I've been receiving a few hundreds interest every month from savings accounts with new institutions although it's not even the best one yet. In the end, I had around $90,000 total with Chase around 10 years and had to pay over $400 charges for them to make money from me, even though I asked them a few times both online and Chase in South Elgin to waive.

Had a charge that did not belong on my account. Called customer service, and let me say the one thing they do not provide is service, to try to get some help. Basically got absolutely nothing, was told it could take up to two months I had three different forms to fill out and a bunch of hoops to jump through. I think it would've been easier if they would've just told me to go screw myself and hung up the phone. I have been banking with them for over 30 years now, this is the first time I can recall having any kind of dispute on my debit card and unfortunately I realized at that point I was on my own. I would definitely recommend using a more reputable bank who supports their customers when they have an issue. I'm just glad it was not a large sum of money that would've been tied up for two months.

Our family (parents, children, etc) has used Chase ever since Chase came to Elgin. I have both my personal and business accounts at Chase as does the rest of my family. Over the years Chase has become less and less responsive. During Covid, I applied for PPP thru Chase and received nothing. We're a a small company with 3 employees. I'm sure all of their major corporate customers we taken care of to the tune of millions, probably billions. We also had business with TBK. They contacted us to see if we needed help. They were able to get us a small PPP loan without any issues. Last year I had a business check stolen out of the mail and washed. They change the amount to $4500 and the name to some rando in Missouri. Deposited it via phone thru their bank. ABSOLUTELY ALL OF THE SECURITY info was wiped, no watermark, no foil seal, nothing. I paid for checks with the full security features. Chase paid it, no problem. My 8 yo granddaughter saw the difference between that check and the others when she looked online. Who or what checks when it arrives at Chase. Stevie Wonder could have seen the issues. Regretfully, my accountant only reconciles quarterly so we missed the 60 day window to get reimbursed. The check was not much better than notebook paper and some type, but they paid it. Presently, I've been a POA and sines on my moms bank accounts. She passed away last month. I went to Chase, met with the Branch Manager, let he know if the passing. She was able to consolidate her accounts and move what money she had to checking. I explained I had bills to pay such as cremation, nursing home care, Drs bills, utilities on her home, etc. I left the bank, went home and write out bills. About 7-10 days later I start getting letters from Chase that the account was frozen because one of the signers had passed. ALL of the checks for her bills were returned unpaid. Rather embarrassing to have the check for the funeral home returned. They knew I was going to pay bills, however, no warning that the account would be frozen. On the positive note, the ATM access is great. I've learned to use the security features via the web. I now have any deposit or withdrawal of more than $1 set for review by me. otherwise not much else. We carry a decent balance in our business and personal checking accounts. The interest is .01%. and now they charge $25 for our personal account because we don't have more that 100k in investments or savings. Not sure how banks work but I assume they loan out our deposits? At the current 6-7% they charge for loans they can make 6000 off of a 100k deposit. In exchange they don't charge $25 for my checking account? Very generous on their part. I guess it's time to find a local bank that supports the local businesses and people. Good bye Chase

I went there yesterday to pay my tax bill and I was shocked to see at least thirty people waiting…read morein the teller line. Being handicapped, I cannot stand up for long periods of time. There were no accommodations for the handicapped customers. I sat down for a few minutes but the line just got longer when more people arrived.. Clearly this bank has no procedures in place to assist Americans With Disability. I just left without waiting any further. Will never come back here again...
