This is a trustworthy bank to take it in consideration for an auto loan. They care about customers' benefit as well as doing their business. They won't be the one just care about themselves. I got auto loan from them and everything is transparent, there was no application fees or any other fees that are not necessary. They explain to me every part of the cost, like tax, interest rate, title transfer fee, etc. I am really happy about their services. read more

They were not my choice, it was from the car dealer, so I did not seek them out. I certainly would not do so either, having dealt with them. They are rude, almost for fun it seems, anytime calling in. But if you are a day or two late for a car payment , boy, they call like you owe the IRS millions. I have been hung up on, given the run around, on minor things many times. I am sure they work fine with some, but with me they do not. Some very elementary questions they cannot seem to answer without long hold times, which maybe their system, or lack of knowledge. The person whom hung up on me, seemed brain dead frankly. read more

No! Just, NO! Way too many excessive fees!!!!! I'm not surprised that the crooked, penny pinching car dealership uses this bank! I did not choose this bank, the dealership did! Customer Care Service was not helpful with any of the questions I had regarding setting up automatic payments through my bank nor their bank! They refuse to credit any fees even though their fee riddled app was not functioning properly! I'll be refinancing my auto loan & taking my business to to a more reputable bank with better customer service! Disappointed & dissatisfied !! read more

I set up an ACH from my checking last m onth, for my first car payment to be drawn April 11, 2026. I was supposed to get a call from this bank weeks ago when they had it set up. Never got the call and they have not taken the first payment from my bank. I tried to call, but it appears people at this bank like playing, "pass the buck." No one can provide an answer. read more

I have been doing business with this bank for over 15 years and "never" had a problem even after moving out of Illinois 8 years ago I have continued to do business with them. I've always received courteous and honest service from them. Of course, I pay my bills on time and don't go there after a CD special has ended expecting to receive that special rate after the special rate had expired. My main contact Margaret T. has always gone the extra mile to be helpful. I plan to continue to do business with them in the future. read more

If you need any type of Car loan. look at another bank. They treat the customers they have very poorly.

New customer to American Eagle with a car loan. I have called 6 times to set up my account on the internet and each time I am told the issue is resolved. I havd to pay extra for my payment so that my loan would noy be late. I am 72 and have never had this much trouble with a bank. I would not do business with them, and when I mam able to get my payoff I will pay in full so I dont have to deal with them or let the make another dime off me. NO STARS IF POSSIBLE read more

Take your business elsewhere. Teller completely lied to my us when I went into the bank and paid off my car cash, the teller lied to me and told me it would be 3 days. I talked to Vanessa and the manager and they told me it was "miscommunication" no it was dishonesty. Terrible bank, stay with renowned bank like Chase and Capital One, one that actually has good customer service. read more

Good bank I have a loan for the car and I have no problems with it them I was so glad they help me out with any issues I have

I had a car loan with them in like 2012. I paid it off - or so I thought. i had the sum in my automatic banking service where it auto debited every month the payment. well something happened where I thought I was done paying it off but apparently had like a slight remainder balance and forgot all about t bc out of sight /out of mind and i figured it was probs a bullshit junk fee. I had like 28 bucks left to pay. That figured 13 years later is now over 2400 if I want my own car title for a car I fully paid on and owned and got swindled out of a junk fee and 13 years of interest on it. I think it and anyone supporting it looks like total garbage. read more

I stopped by this location on sat the 30th of December only to find out that the lobby was closed( The bank had a a 6month Cd special they were running). I stopped by this morning tuesday January 2nd and asked to open this promotional Cd only to find out that the special was no longer available. I asked the personal banker why and she said she'd have to speak to her Manager. Banker came back and said she was not willing to honor the promotion even though I showed them proof I was there over the weekend. Well, the manager is a terrible business person, I personally showed how much the deposit would be, north of 350k. Very dumb business decision on her part and I'm very confident in saying this bank has lost a ton of business because of its management . There are way better options in the area. Good luck everyone and steer clear of this branch(terrible management). read more

THIS BANK SUUUUUCKS!! Tried to payoff a car loan for around 2900 and was told that I had to use a mastercard as they don't take visa. Why the heck do they care how you pay off a car? COMPLETE NONSENSE! read more

I will start off by saying the staff at this bank, from behind the counter to the bankers themselves are great people. Always polite courteous, and understanding. Covid hit me hard and I fell behind On my auto loan, they worked with me as I scrambled to find a second job to catch up on my payments. Insert their rude arrogant recovery manager Yuri. While I understand it's part of that job to be somewhat abrasive and harsh. Tearing someone down when they are struggling mentally, physically, and financially is not a way to motivate people. Yuri is one of the most despicable human beings I've ever had the misfortune of having a conversation with. I had a verbal agreement that he threw away over his feelings because I misspoke his name. While I understand there is a contractual obligation that I violated, the times were hardly in anyone's favor. You'd believe there would be some understanding after being a longtime customer, but Yuri's ego got bruised. If I was better off I'd seek legal action for some of the things that were said to me, simply disgusting. Stay far away, because if you have a catastrophic life event and fall behind, you'll have to deal with that wretched human being Yuri. read more

No one likes making calls about bills. This call however was beyond impressive. Roxanna, bless you. You need a raise. Made my day, thank you read more

I only wish I could give it zero stars, but I'll give it one and give it to the gentleman who was helpful, but the rest of the people I had to deal with at that bank, I am so very very glad to be done with my car loan, and should have taken it somewhere else when given the chance. This bank will treat you terrible, and not feel bad at all, one lady insinuated, very blatantly, that I was a liar. I had my car loan with them for 5.5 years, only had One late payment, four years in, and they ripped my credit apart, after asking them to please remove it, because they Absolutely can do this, they refused, they have lied to me multiple multiple times, where it just was utterly amazing. Just please, if you have any other opportunities to go to Any other bank than this one, GO! I honestly Do Not even know How they remain open. Probably car loans.. read more

This update is specifically for the years of good customer service I received from Ruth at American Eagle Bank and most recently my experience with Ian. At the end of the day, a few bad apples can make for a very unpleasant experience. At some poont, most of us have to deal with the banks for loans. It is not something we grow up to want to do. So to have pleasant and courteous staff take their time with you is great. Please keep up the great work, read more

Jerry Szklarzewski - chief executive officer , working at this bank was super helpful , took my banking needs in a very professional manner . It is unusual to have a banker who takes such a personal interest in meeting a customers' needs, works over his hours to make customer happy, goes out of his way to ensure everything is done right the first time. Looking forward doing business in this bank and especially with Jerry! Thanks read more

Our banker, Victor, was so helpful during our auto loan transaction. He worked on our behalf with an out of state car dealer to get everything in order and always had our best interest at heart. This is the second auto loan we have had with this bank and have found them to be nothing less than the best. Looking forward to the next time!! read more

Horrible experience while trying to obtain financing. They talk to you like you are a piece of garbage and they can't be bothered with answering questions. They act as if they are doing you a favor by taking your money at over inflated interest rates. They have no comprehension of legal documents. Glad I dodged this bullet by not giving them my business. They are disgraceful. read more

Terrible people to work with. I was in the hospital so I missed a payment. They called me on Black Friday. I called them back later that day because I work in a restaurant in a mall and I was unable to answer. They were already closed. Left a voicemail letting them know I would be unavailable Saturday but would call back Monday with my checking account information. They took my car Sunday night at 1 am. This bank will lie cheat and take from you. RUN FROM THEM!! SAVE YOURSELF! This bank will lie cheat and take from you. Run as fast as you can from them. Worst bank to have a car loan with!!! The people who work in the loan department are the rudest people I've ever dealt with!!! Take your business elsewhere. I would never recommend them to anyone!!!!!! read more

Sad that you have to leave even one star. Similar to all other reviews, this bank is incredibly unethical. I, too, paid off my 6-year car note in full. They refuse to release my title without a mandatory $400 fee although they could not provide evidence of this fee in any of their documentation. Do NOT patronize these crooks!!! read more

This Bank is terrible to do business with. Had a vehicle loan with AE that was paid off ahead of time and have not received my title. The girl that works in titles/ vehicle loans named Elizabeth is clueless and will not help you in any way. Beware of American Eagle Bank. read more

I received a check from a business that does their banking here. I went in to cash it, but apparently it was over the limit of how much they can cash out to someone without an account there. So, I said let's open an account! The banker, Pam, started the process but got up to speak with her manager and came back saying that I could no longer open an account with them. She asked if I would like her manager to come over to explain why, I said yes. The manager was extremely rude and snarky, and gave zero explanation other than "You can't open a checking account here." Why turn away the opportunity for business? While Pam was very polite and kind, the manager here should absolutely be fired. She was rude, turned away business for no apparent reason, and is the cause of yet ANOTHER poorly rated review. I will be contacting the business that banks here to let them know about my experience with them, hopefully they take their banking needs elsewhere. This place is a joke. read more

I've always dealt with nice people here, however, it is definitely NOT the best institution to have any kind of loan with. They will often say you are late when you're not. Payments often get "missed" or "lost" and they will immediately deny that's possible. And God forbid that you are there a day later or the mail is delayed because they will harass you by phone AND mail. They are also not the brightest people there. I would not bank with them and am looking to get the loan done with ASAP. read more

Not sure why review gets deleted. Watch what you do here. I keep getting harassing phone calls because they used social media and other such attempts to find out info on people that owe then money. I get harassing calls for other people to help them find people who owe them money. Its not my loan. It's not my car or whatever it is. Stop harassing me!! Stop calling me!! Stop having the Police call me!! You are horrible an can't wait til we speak face to face to I can give you a piece of my mind. read more

You may as well do business with a loan shark. This bank's business practices are shady at best. Their customer service is horrendous, they have a chip on their shoulders from the get go. Rude doesn't even cover how bad customer service is. They want to tack on extra months of payments through unauthorized "promotional" extentions but won't send you the info on it, you find out when the payment book is empty and they call you looking for a payment. They don't send you receipts or payment information as requested further making me question the extra payments. Go to a big bank.... or the mob might be a better option. read more

Outrageous fees, extremely limited hours, rude customer service. I told them I would never do business with them again and the person on the phone LAUGHED and said "that's okay, there are other customers out there". Well, if I can direct even one person away from this institution then I'm happy. DO NOT USE THIS BANK!!!!! Oh yes, one more thing - NO ONLINE PAYMENT OPTIONS. Backwards technology. I can't say enough negative things about this bank. Truly, they should be investigated. read more

I think that this will be my 3rd. or 4th. review on this bank. I just got a call that the NSF'S that I sent them for a post-dated ck. on a loan that was cashed ahead of time will not be paid back to me. I sent the ck. ahead of time to the attn. of and circled the date but to no avail since the ck. was cashed. The person told me that cashing the ck. was justified since I am a month late. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT! Then why did they send me a ck. before for NSF's for the same problem. They tell you to send the ck. and post date it and then it is OK to cash it when they want. Do you see the logic in this? I DON'T. As I have said in my reviews before with this bank, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BANK. The people over the phone are nasty, especially a certain person and the person that I really liked and was able to work with her has quit. I WONDER WHY! read more

This place SUCKS - They love to call you millions of times but you can NEVER get a hold of them when you need to. Had one guy hang up on me, also asked the receptionist if I could hold for the next available rep and she said "no, im sorry we don't do that, you can leave a message". This place can kiss my ass. Cannot wait until I am done with this place. read more

Dont torture yourself by taking a loan with this bank! They constantly harass you ! They start calling the day your payment is one day overdue! I can't tell you all the late fees they throw in on you! Mine were over 800 dollars by the time I finished the loan! I over payed them 300 dollars and have trying for a month to contact Barry the bank president. He has yet to return my messages! Worst bank ever! BEWARE. I never had these problems when I had a car loan with Toyota Financial! read more

Rude individuals who don't care pretty much sum up this bank. I called because I was "supposedly" late on a payment even though I had proof it was paid well before the date. They guy pretty much told me "tough sh*t" and didn't do anything. Planning on refinancing somewhere else. Don't waste your time with ignorant people. read more

Working with Ruth as my contact for my auto loan has been amazing. She is very understanding and willing to work with me at all times throughout the loan. I would work with American Eagle again! read more

This bank has all the signs that they're heading out of business. Horrendous customer service, zero follow through and financial professionals not willing or able to work with you. I have sent in 3, yes three separate auto loan applications to refinance their current terms. The fist time the paperwork was lost, the second time the fax machine had errors, and the third time it was misplaced/ not found. For all I know, this bank is insolvent with employees collecting a check while they still can. Per the previous reviewers notes, I am not too far off base with this assertion. Do not do business with this bank. read more

This bank is super old fashioned and I absolutely hate doing business with them! I have a vehicle financed through them needed to change my due date because my employer is converting from weekly to bi-weekly payroll and this piece of garbage bank wants to charge me $50. I will be taking my business elsewhere. BEWARE! read more

The bank has no regard for the word good customer service or the phase the customer is always right. They have very poor quality of work, poor work ethics and very rude employees. I would advice people to refrain from getting an auto loan through this bank because you will regret ever considering this bank. The management is as poor as the employees, you can't reach any manager to make complains or report those assholes they call employees. The employees act like the loan repayments go into their personal accounts and talk to customers with such rudeness, anyone who starts a sentence with I don't want to sound rude is of no good and that's how employees at this bank talk to customers. Please please if you are reading this review, know that it is real and it happened to me. read more
