Previous experience: I always use the ATM at this site because you can deposit cash and checks in addition to regular ATM functions. Once I left my debit card in the ATM because of the chip, didn't realize for 12+ hours later. Upon realizing contacted this location and they closed my debit card so no one could use it (proactive!) and said they could print me a new one if I came in. Needless to say I went in the same day and was in and out within 15 minutes. What a relief! The have English, Spanish and Polish speakers at this location. Great to help anyone. Bought a mobile home last year and Old Second financed the loan. Never heard of them before. Was…read morenot impressed when I received my first statement. Nowhere did it provide a website where I could pay my mortgage online. Had to search out the website myself. Was surprisingly able to create an account and linked my bank account to pay my mortgage online. Except there is no way to pay online. I had a hard time believing that a bank in this day and age does not offer any type of online banking. Tried calling and messaging - no response at all. There is no way to get a hold of these people! Pretty disturbing. And I had to get checks just to pay my mortgage each month. They don't send the statements in a timely manner so I am always paranoid my check will get there late. Then today I tried accessing my online account to check my balance and see if I could get a payoff quote as my employer is relocating me to another city. When I attempted to log in, I was told my account was dormant. If I have an active mortgage, my account should not be dormant! I have no idea how to pay off my mortgage since I cannot get a hold of anyone. I have never encountered a bank that was so backwards and unprofessional.

The people there are friendly, and I always get a greeting when I come in. On more than one occasion, I've had their ATM eat my card and had them unlock the machine to retrieve it for me. I had a decent conversation with one of the guys there who is leaving for the Air Force. In my experience as well as my dad's, the staff at the Fifth Third a few more miles west tend to be over the top, and that's why I go to that one for big needs- loans, ect. No gripes from me on either bank though.
