After a 15 hour trip across the Pacific Ocean you need to reward yourself with two of the (many) things that Aussies do best (in my opinion) coffee and brunch and Fifth Chapter delivers on these two things brilliantly!
We arrived around 1pm on Sunday and the place was packed but were still seated quickly without much of a wait. Our party of six was busy admiring the plates of nearby diners when our coffees promptly arrived and a friendly server took our brunch order. Coffee was delicious and our food arrived quickly. Servings are extremely generous, my avocado smash came with two very large pieces of artisan multigrain bread spread on both sides with a deliciously tart red capsicum and feta spread, topped with a lavish amount of creamy avocado/edamame smash and two perfectly cooked poached eggs! Other winners at the table included the sautéed mushroom breakfast, the Thai Chicken Salad and the Breakfast Bruschetta.
Meals ran around $16-$18 which seems pretty reasonable (especially considering the portion sizes) and there is plenty of free parking on the street behind the cafe.
Fantastic food, great coffee, will definitely be back! read more
