Fifth Avenue is the main drag in Naples, the downtown, the place to check out, to be see and be seen! The place is colorful, with nice architecture, well maintained buildings, wide boulevard, usually crowded and lively. This is a great shopping area, with lots of boutiques, many restaurants to dine at, coffee-shops, ice-cream parlors, art galleries, some on the kitschy side, but it's Naples, so there's some tackiness here and there. A bit of culture (a theater or two), banks, parking garages (free parking). A short walk to the beach which makes the place more appealing. Nothing is cheap here, so prepare yourselves to pay more for everything. They have events, parades all year round so check their calendar. If you visit Naples, you should check out Fifth Avenue. Fifth Avenue South dates back to Florida's land boom years in the 1920's. The road stretches five miles from Tamiami Trail to the Gulf of Mexico in old Naples. Ed Frank's Garage was the first commercial building on the avenue. Ed owned the first car dealership in town and invented the swamp buggy. Other early businesses on the ave included a machine shop, the Chamber of Commerce, the train depot, a telephone company, a pub, gas station, and small shops. Fifth Avenue was the unofficial Main Street in Naples. In the 30's a golf course opening brought more traffic to the area and the 40's saw the opening of Cambier Park. Through the years Naples continued to grow and in the 90's, the Naples Players at Sugdem Community Theater was built, making Fifth Avenue a destination for the arts, music, and culture on Today on the avenue you will find art galleries, boutiques, hotels, the performing arts center and thirty restaurants and bars.. There is a plenty of free parking on the side streets and at a garage by the performing arts center. In 2010, the Business Improvement District formed to promote the prospering of business on Fifth Avenue South. In addition to shopping and dining I enjoyed discovering the many different sculptures that are part of the Naples Sculpture Walk. Throughout the year Fifth Avenue hosts many events. During St. Patrick's Day the streets turn green. During the Holidays the street is beautifully decorated. They also hold an event called Art in the Park. I love so much about Fifth Avenue South, the historic 1920's architecture, the festive holidays decorations, the delicious food, the music, the art, and the fun shopping. There is so much to see, do, and eat here. This is destination you will want to add to any trip to Naples. read more

Fifth Avenue has everything from restaurants, art galleries, antique shops, a ton of stores, theater, banks, boutiques, private offices and even a Starbucks. It's a swanky spot with steep prices and you will definitely see Tesla's and other luxury cars coming and going. I had lots of fun window shopping and people watching. Most if not all of the restaurants have outdoor seating and are dog friendly. It was great to see so many fur babies dining with their parents. Lots of dogs looking very content just hanging out and drinking water. So cute. My hotel was on Fifth and we didn't need to use our car at all. Both the locals and tourists were out and about enjoying everything Fifth Avenue has to offer. Everyone was super friendly, there were benches to sit and rest and the architecture is stunning. Looking forward to going back in October. read more

One of the nights we were in Naples we decided to dine in Fifth Ave and we had a very good sushi dinner. Afterwards we decided to walk dinner off a bit and we had a blast. Lots of great restaurants with outdoor seating, lots of great shops and even a few galleries. This is apparently the place to be "seen" in Naples, especially if you have a beautiful (and expensive) car. McLarens, Corvettes, Bentleys, a Lotus, and we even saw a Rolls Royce...the kids loved it. read more

This is a seen and be seen kind of area. It's like when you come to Naples, FL, u come here, you go to the pier, and u go to the beach. Here you will find shops, sidewalk cafes, restaurants, bars, and fancy parked cars like Maseratis. If you are a local or a tourist or a snow bird, this is a common social spot. They also have events through out the year and the farmers market! It's so pretty! It's not too far from the beach either! read more

I've been coming here for years to visit family. This street is filled with expensive shops and overpriced restaurants. They do put up some cute Christmas decorations during the holidays, be sure to check out the tree by the theater. There is also a free parking garage by the theater. This is the shopping spot du jour for your average retired upper-middle class midwestern Trump voter. I don't fit into that demographic, so I find this shopping district (and city) stuffy. This street reminds me a bit of Mizner Park in Boca, but I'll take Boca Raton and my fellow New Yorkers over this part of Florida any day. There are public bathrooms back by Shea's and the outdoor band shell. read more
