Of the two different shelling tours I went on, Treasure Seekers was much better - more professional, more included, better staff. Cost: About $150 per person (plus suggested gratuity of $25 cash) for a 4-hour tour with a maximum of six guests. You pay in advance. Times differ daily based on low tide charts. * They send a professional invoice with more detail and require you to sign a liability clause. * You are met at Goodland and checked in by a staff member. * At the end of the tour, you are provided with your choice of ice cold drinks and small snacks - just a nice touch. * We had a captain plus a guide. We had Caitlyn, who was absolutely delightful and sweet and full of information, and very helpful with getting people on and off the boat safely. We spent the entire time on Morgans. Did a shelling trip with Treasure Seekers on Labor Day on one of their 6 hours tours. Trip was hosted by our Captain Richard and Shell Guide Amanda -- both were friendly & helpful. Customer Service was A++. It was just me and a married couple on the trip to Shell Island (2nd day it was open for the season). While I didn't find the giant horse conch or Junonia on my bucket list, I did find TONS of shells. Happy Sheller! The 6 hours flew by, and even in the rain, I had a great time. Captain Richard was very tuned into the weather & making sure we were safe (lightning is always a concern), and I was grateful the boat stays onsite just case there's a need. The complimentary drinks, lunchables & fresh fruit were lovely. Also liked the off-site parking, although finding the parking lot was a bit tricky since there's no official signage. The van driver was friendly & considerate (even turned on the heat on the drive home since we were wet from the rain). Will definitely travel with Treasure Seekers again! read more

My self, my daughter, 2 grandkids and best friend booked the 7:30 am trip yesterday Captain Jim and guide Hannah really went out of their way to seek the best shelling spots in the Ten Thousand Islands. We were awed by the locations and availability of easily accessible shells. Hannah, a Marine Science graduate, identified the most unusual shells , many firsts for me and I have been kayaking and shelling in this area for 15 years. Both grandkids , ages 11 and 14, discovered many unique and live shells ( which we left on the beach) and had a 3 hour living water based biology lesson. This post is long overdue.... (July 2019) For years, I've drooled over ig photos from @shellekelle (shelling guru.. she is kinda a big deal ) and her adventures on the ten thousand islands. Long story short-ish: I was on Marco Island for work. Last minute, I decided book a tour solo, my friends arent shellers. We were out for about 20 minutes when a thunderstorm rolled. I couldnt find an uber or lyft that would pick me up. So capt richard dropped me off at my hotel and i was drenched with no towel (his poor truck). The sweet owner of @treasureseekersshelltours called me to offer a refund or the opp to go out again in the morning (originally there were no available tours the following am). She said that capt richard felt so bad that the Hawaii girl didnt get to go shelling. So he agreed to take me out the next morning (on his day off before his 18 hour drive to texas, with his family) ... talk about true aloha spirit. Not only was I blessed to go shelling twice, but I also randomly got to shell with @shellekelle! I have to give all the props and glory to God because only he could have made this all happen! blessed beyond measures! if you are ever in sw florida i highly rec @treasureseekersshelltours. Dooo your research! Took my family of 3 kids last month for a "private shelling" there was 100 people on the beach and it was right across from Marco like 100 yards. For being the most expensive it was nothing special. WASTE of MONEY!!! read more

Excellent shell tour , very friendly. It's very laid back , they will help you if needed but the island they go to you're literally tripping over shells. That being said be sure you wear the water sock type shoes to protect your feet. Also make sure to be on time bc they leave promptly. We also saw dolphins , it was really a great morning! read more

I appreciate reviewing the local shells we may find upon starting the trip, as well as finding out trivia about the shells that I found. It felt very intimate with three other guests joining my fiancé and I. Tracy checked in on us intermittently while also giving us space to perform our own exploring. Taking this tour was the most amazing thing that I have done since I moved to SWFL. My Mom, daughter and I, who love to shell had the time of our lives. The Captain Tammie and 1st mate Meaghan were the best!! They were so nice and knowledgeable about all sea life and shells. They took us to a few different islands where we filled our bags with beautiful treasures. I got to swim right next to a manatee and Tammie got the dolphins to jump behind the boat. My wife won a trip for 6 of us to go on a shell tour and they did not disappoint. From the minute we arrived they greeted us and wanted to see if we needed any help with anything. We were walked to the boat where we were greeted by the captain. Note of advice. Don't bring your own water as they have a cooler full of water. We didn't touch the water we brought. This tour takes you out to places that no one else can get to and they are so extremely helpful in making sure even the most novice shell seeker (me) knows what to look for. Once we get to the island it is a shell seekers dream come true, you could literally be there all day and still not scratch the surface of all the shells to be found. Tracy was our guide and she was always there to answer questions and offer advice, she was very friendly and professional. The captain could not have been more accommodating. At the end of our day at the island they took us by the Cape Romano white domed houses. The captain told us the complete history of them as we idled right beside them. We then left there and saw some birds and wildlife I had not seen before. The staff is very knowledgeable about not just shells but the local wildlife and local history. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend this tour for beginners to experts. read more

Where do I begin? This was the best shell tour I have ever been on. When Tammy called to tell me they had an opening, she was straightforward on what I could expect. She talked about the red tide and the chilly weather. Fortunately, neither were that bad today. She was so friendly and truly an indication of what to expect. When I told her that I was going to Shell Camp (Kice Island) this week, she told me to be sure to tell Captain Richard so that he would take us to a different island. I didn't have to say anything, Tammy made sure he knew. Captain Richard and Alley (I hope I got the spelling right) greeted us and were so helpful in getting everyone on the boat. (Being 68 was a bit of a challenge but they made me feel very comfortable.). Once we arrived on Shell Island, they explained where the best shells were to be found and there were piles and piles of shells everywhere. Alley and another couple of staff were there the entire time assisting and shoveling out the piles where treasures abound. I have never seen so many fighting conchs, whelks, Sunray Venus, alphabet cones, tulips, and more. I found a large sand dollar but left it on the boat. :( I wish I had at least taken a picture of it. This tour took 6 out and it was the perfect size. The boat was a smooth ride seeing sunrise on the way over and dolphins on the way back.. Captain Richard slowed the boat down and was skilled at getting the dolphins to ride the waves behind us. What a beautiful site, There was water available on the island and the boat was accessible for water, mango tea and snacks. And to drop off anything we wanted to unload. Four hours was great and everyone had bags and bags of shells. I kept thinking of something my granddaughter says all the time when she is having such a fun time, "This is the best day ever." This was truly one of the best days ever for a shell lover. I look forward to booking another one in the future and hope that we have the same crew. Can't say enough about this tour. Went out last weekend for our first shelling expedition with #treasureseekers Tammy & Jeff. We'd never done any serious shelling before and we weren't sure what to expect but Tammy put us right at ease! She had a container of all the different types of shells we might find and Jeff kept an eye out for us and pointed shells out that we'd have missed and brought over a few he'd found for us to add to our collection. The location was just crazy. I've never seen so many shells in one place in my life. Tammy dropped us off at one end and picked us up in the middle of the island which worked out great. They had snacks and drinks available and the boat ride itself was great with dolphins playing in the wake. Next trip I'll bring an extra shelling bag and a container for the delicate shells and sand dollars. We are already planning a return! read more

I had the pleasure of experiencing a Treasure Seekers Shell Tour last week while in SW Florida. When we first booked the shelling tour I honestly didn't know what to expect. Well, let me tell you....I am impressed! First Mate Gary met us at the Marina boat house with a friendly smile and genuine excitement to get us started. We walked down to the charter boat - BEAUTIFUL! The boat is brand new, well equipped and a very comfortable ride and even squeezes a bathroom in it. This is very important since you are traveling to uninhabited, shell-full, natural islands for the day. Captain Tammy is a doll, she has a passion for the 10,000 islands and all of the natural beauty and wonder that they bring. We boated out about 20-mins to one of her favorite spots. She explained the natural vegetation, wildlife, tide cycles, what time is best for looking for shells and showed us examples of what to look for. The area is so sandy, that you can beach the boat and jump right off onto the islands. We brought buckets, a bottle of water and hope for finding some natural beauty! Well we were in luck. There were NO footprints on the entire island, we were the only ones there! Every pretty shell we found was a win, it was great. After about 20mins, First Mate Gary joined us. He is a wealth of knowledge on how and what to look for. He spent most of his time educating us on how shells are "born" what the names are, where to look. It was a great education for all of us and my 8 and 10 year old children were mesmerized! After a couple of hours of shelling we were getting hot and hungry, we called Captain Tammy and she was there in a flash. She ensures her guests are well taken care of with lots of healthy snacks and water. We had time to go to one more island and by that time we were ready to cool off and do some swimming, which is also spectacular in sparkling blue Florida water. As if that wasn't enough, on our way back to the dock we went on a history tour past some historical landmarks and even lured a few dolphins to frolic in the boat's wake. It was AMAZING! If you've never been shelling, you need to. If you are an avid sheller - Captain Tammy will take you to the best spots, guaranteed. TIPS - The shelling tour is about 4.5hrs and you are walking and stepping through Mangrove forests, very cool but also can be tiring. My kids did great, but we were all tired at the end of the day. In addition to the obvious - sunscreen and water, it is a good idea to bring bug spray. Also, Captain Tammy made sure to tell us to wear water shoes. A MUST HAVE, you are walking on sea shells all day long! read more

What an awesome adventure! Everything about this excursion was great. After a short boat ride to Kice, we were ashore with our guide, Molly, who made sure everyone had water, sunscreen, and bug spray. It's a good walk around the edge of the island with lots of different birds and an unbelievable number of shells in perfect condition. Good water shoes are a MUST and a sand scoop is a good idea to help sift through the shellpiles and pick things up. There is almost no shade so a hat really helped keep the heat manageable. It was especially nice being with such a knowledgeable guide and groupof people who are just as shell crazy as I am! Back on the boat they had light protein snacks and lots of hydration. Great way to fuel up for a quick stop at a sandbar for more shells! On the way back, Capt John spotted a pod of bottlenosed dolphins teaching their baby (!) how to fish. All the Treasure Seekers folks seem to love what they do, and have a great deal of knowledge! Was made to feel very welcome! First rate outfit and experience! read more

Drinks and snacks were plentiful. Boats were clean and looked new. We checked off seeing dolphins, manatees and ospreys. What a fun excursion. Picked up some great shells. Super tour - but expensive. We ended up doing many tours with different companies, so it was interesting to experience the differences. I highly recommend that these companies do NOT allow their guests to bring plastic bags (they can fly into the ocean which is very bad for sea life). Also to inform guests not to take live shells, as that is not only WRONG, but illegal. Super friendly people on this trip! read more

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4-hour adventure with Captain Tammy and Jeff on Mother's Day weekend. Neither of us are seashell gurus however we love nature and time spent searching for seashells. Capt. Tammy and Jeff enlightened us with information on the various types of shells that are found around the 10,000 Islands. The trip exceeded our expectations with dolphins jumping in the wake of our boat and a banquet of millions of colorful seashells congregating of the shore of Tice Island! We found sand dollars, horseshoe crabs, apple murex, whelks, tulips, conchs, and scallops, Oh My! On this trip we experienced the off-the-beaten-path side of Florida. I had never done a formal "shelling tour" before, but a friend wanted to do it so we signed up. It was truly one of the best parts about our Florida trip. The weather was perfect. Tammy and Richard were right there with the boat, right on time. During our ride to Kice Island, Tammy described the kinds of shells we would be finding out there, and some unique features about each of them. I live in the Midwest, so this was very helpful. When we got to the island, we hopped off the boat, and we were on our own to explore. Tammy was there with us to educate on some of the things we were seeing, and to point out the unique shells. It truly was overwhelming actually, but in a good way. I'm used to being happy about finding broken shells on the beach. These shells were beautiful and intact. After we were done, we came back to the boat and they gave us something to drink and a snack. The 4 hours went very fast. Tammy carried water for us while we were out there, but I wish I would have brought my sunscreen along. read more
